@kenneth taylor the other day I had a delivery with 2,000 lb pallet and the driver had a nice electronic pallet jack was a miracle since I couldn't get a bobcat with forks to the site at the same time . Made life so much easier.
With wheels on containers and two guys , would be way more efficient. I'm getting anxious just watching how long this is taking to empty 3 containers. I'm not knocking the guy, he's just doing his job, respect.
Been with this company for almost 8 years and I agree, trailer definitely needs greased, in have most my bins set up to where I back right into them, and if I have to use a jack, i dont make it look as time consuming as he does in the video.

The front loading garbage trucks leak... I've seen these trailer trucks take oil from restaurants without issue. I'm sure there's a reason for doing it this way. Whether it makes sense is another matter.🤔
Well that truck can hold and haul 3 tines what a fron loader can. so i guess they make it up in more customers served then trips to the landfill.. im mad that anyone would let the lube get to this point on any equipment..
I've been wondering what those trucks were used for; now that makes sense. I worked for a company that was that petty, and I don't miss working for them.
I like this video. At least the food that is being thrown out is not going to the landfill. Some trucks like these haul food to places that feed it to livestock. The dumpsters could have been designed much better such as putting wheels underneath. Now for the squealing sound, if the truck has been written up for not being oiled, then it's the person in maintenance that needs a good talking to. I feel sorry for this guy since he has to use this pallet mule to move the dumpsters around in order for him to dump them.
I appled for this job but after looking at it, I feel like there can be so many negatives. dead electric jack, snow in way of dumpster, cars in the way, hydraulics of truck don't work etc.. too many possible issues that can happen turning a bad day into a horrible day. I had my fair share of jobs using electric jacks and it shitty more than good. I guess it depends how many stops a day are required because if you are in a rush all day I can see this being stressful
I was thinking the same thing, but the way that guy has trouble operating a pallet jack. He probably can't back the truck up to the right spot to pick the bins up anyways.
At UMass Amherst there are wheels on their dumpsters and they are all metal dumpsters. One time, when I was on my way to the bus stop from my apartment with my mom a couple employees from UMass were about to load the dumpster on the back of the truck and the front wheel on the dumpster snapped broke off and they had to back the truck up even closer. It took 3 people to lift one end. The reason why it broke off is because the bottom of the dumpster was all rusted out. They fixed it up the same day by welding a piece of sheet metal to cover most of the affected area. Welded on the bottom, and welded on inside. Never had a problem since.
John Briseno lmao do you know how wheels work? all that weight is being transferred to the ground not the person pushing the bin. It only takes a fraction of the force to move the bin.
Cheryl Andersen this guy probably new I got a few friends that done this here in Los Angeles Ca and they kick ass operating the equipment this guy is new or just suck at it Lol. Did you see the look he gave the guy recording after he tells him to hurry Lol ! All that truck that’s ether heavy stuff or he gots a lot of fucken stops . Lol!
Even though this truck looks worthless, I think it's primarily used for food recycling; feeding live stock. And the reason it's a trailer and not a front loader is because at the farm or plant where it goes to uses one of those things that tips the truck and trailer for easier off load.
dave kessing I asked one local city he told me they have to destroy the food. They tried giving to homeless but some tried to resell them to make money.
When you look at where they are placed in this video, yes. In my old job, they were in a small alley sideways. You wouldn't have been able to reach them. The company unloaded them similar to this video.
@@thebeermaker2102 Trucks like his can easily carry 30-40,000 lbs. I'm not sure with all the extra stuff hes carrying how much weight he loses to the pallet jack and water, etc.

I've seen similar concepts in America, a metal dumpster with a rod through the front, sticking out on the sides. The guy puts it at the lifter, and just lifts 2 metal holders over these rod endings. (or only one, since he positions one side of the dumpster directly through the holder as he pulls it to the truck). The thing gets lifted up and down in a similar amount of time.
