Garbage Truck Curotto Can POV, Garbage and Yardwaste

- This video is something a little different. After testing out the Curotto can (previous video), the bosses decided to make a purchase of a Heil Half-Pack equipped with a Curotto + Odyssey hydraulic controls (Odyssey is highly recommended). I found myself on it often (fortunately), and after figuring out some tricks, started to really like the setup. In fact, this is how I believe all garbage trucks should be (maybe with an extended arm reach). Please enjoy watching the intricacies of operating a Curotto setup - there are definitely some funny moments in here. While there’s no crushing in this video, you can still see what material is going into the waste stream. If you’d like a challenge, try to identify it as it falls into the can 😊. Our trash is strict and everything is divided into categories. General garbage, recycles such as plastic, paper, aluminum. We aren't allowed to throw vaccume in the general trash or pieces of furniture. Once a month if we have leaves, twigs, branches, old furniture, appliances, we set those on the curb every third week of the months. Grass clippings are not allowed although if your pulling weeds you can usually get by with that but it can't be put in with general trash.
This suburb area mixes everything together. There’s recyclable cardboard and paper going in with yard waste and construction material. Sad.

Spray-painting the color of what that cart is used for on the tipper latch (or whatever that triangular thing on an Otto 64/96 is supposed to be) tells me that the city ordered the entire batch in one color to save a buck. If there's one thing I hate, it's cheap bastards.

Where I live, green lid is yard waste, blue lid is recyclables, black lid means trash
@p.j.lajoie where I am for yard waste we have green lids and we have yellow lid for recycling and we have red life for general waste and in a city about a hour away they have blue lid bins and they are paper bins

I don't understand the system. Some blue bins are emptied, some not. In some bins there are only a few sheets of paper. Why are these even on the street?

least the grippers are tight i seen 1 truck grippers were so bad all the bins kept falling in the can lol i cant repeat what driver had to say to the mechanic after he was out 3 times trying to fix the grippers lol think he got done about 6 or 7 pm really was pissed nobody came to help next week the packer didnt work had to pack manual truck was like 2 months old guessing the shop or the dealer doesnt know what they are doing or were doing

I can't tell what's being collected. Looks like a mix of bags of trash and paper/cardboard recycle, but that seem alike a really weird way to do it

This is in Omaha Nebraska. I know this because the street sign showed at 6:13 and was called Molly (i couldn't see its title (st, rd, etc.). At 6:36 I saw a mailbox that said the house number and the street name. I copied that address to Google Maps search and found the location of this truck.

How do you know when to stop in front of the trash can.
Maybe it’s because the bins has lines green blue and black and I think the garbage truck can only dump the black ones

Judging from the cab idle I'm guessing this is a Mack LR or Peterbilt 520 Heil front loader. Now I know what those shaved of logos were, the recyclebank character. Kinda neat how they just spray a straight line through the bib with the different color codes. You've definitely got the controls right and it will be better as you go. It's been a while since you've posted, good to see the new post.
I think it’s a Peterbilt 320 or 520. Although I can be be wrong.
