- Here we have Moreland's Annual Hard Waste collection for 2016 which is done by Waste Management. Moreland have hard waste once a year over a period of 6 weeks so they split Moreland into six different parts including the part owned by citywide and do 1 part each week. Hard Waste runs in Moreland from 4th April to 13th of May for 2016. On this day I found 4 trucks and three of them let me film. I got the scrap metal truck, the mattress truck, and one of the Hard Rubbish trucks. In Moreland there are 5 or 6 Hard Rubbish trucks, 1 mattress truck and 1 scrap metal truck. I grabbed this footage earlier this week and the drivers wanted me to get this up as quick as possible. I will still head out to grab more footage of these trucks. I have the same problem after 9 years of being with my wife I just told her my obsession with trash trucks and crushing garbage she's so awesome she understands me so I bought her trash truck underwear and clothing from Amazon

It's sad to see so many things that could be used or recycled just be crushed up and disposed of.
Sweet video. I saw this truck a few weeks back at the local shops near me and I remember thinking that someone needs to film it. I like the nice fast packer on this truck. I'd love to collect bulk waste.
Thanks! I am not 100% sure but I think this is the only truck like this in the Fleet. The rest are Superior Paks, and I can't remember what truck number it was but one of the other superior pak trucks has the best packer in the fleet and when fully loaded weights up to around 11 tonne

Awesome! Cool to see one of these rear loaders with the new ACCO cab, wonder if the body is brand new with it they chucked an existing one on top. Reckon it's pretty cool how the driver can run the packer from the cab too, something different no doubt. Loved all the crunchy stuff like at 5:10. Saw a bit of metal get thrown in too, guess the metal truck doesn't go everywhere :P Bugger at 14:35 hehe Looking forward to seeing the other trucks you caught!
Thanks mate. This is the only one I have seen with the New acco cab in the WM fleet. Yeh, it is just luck if the scrap metal truck gets there before the hardwaste truck does but the hard rubbish trucks always leave the mattresses behind (if not already done) for the mattress truck to collect as the mattresses take up room.
Does the driver operate the packer ?? Watching other videos it looks like a beam of light operates it

i have NEVER seen a packer blade come down so fast !! So fast it looks DANGEROUS..and since the packer can be started by the DRIVER..I can see a LOT of potential for MAJOR injuries here !!
I presume there's a camera that gives the driver a full view of the hopper and immediate area behind to make sure no body parts get taken up by the compactor :-)

Melbourne hard rubbish, and Moreland more than most, has furnished my house and provided plenty of pocket money over the years. But seriously, how can people ‘like’ this? They just throw perfectly good stuff, often so perfect it’s brand new, into the crusher and dump it all in landfill. What a fucking waste.
I think it goes via a transfer area to remove the metals etc

Respect. They work well enough for their salley and it has to be a hard job. I just do not understand why you uncritically mix all the waste. Why not have a car for the combustible and one for all the metal

Yeah it's a eagle phoenix 1 body , the mk2 body has a smaller blade which gives better compaction with regular refuse but doesn't look as good as the mk1 swallowing sofas
