- Enjoy this newer Leach crush through Christmas trees, furniture, TV's, and much more! The crew was absolutely phenomenal!
In the midst of searching for trucks in Mesa, we spotted one of their rear loaders in a parking lot. They pick up bulk two days out of the week; some locations are picked up weekly (apartment complexes), otherwise it's an on-call service for residents.

Nice work. If Leach has a new feature to kick on the reverse beeper whenever the packer is pushed to the limit, I've never seen it on any other truck. loved 2:50, as well as the oldschool parking job at 9:35

This has to be the fastest Leach packer I've seen on youtube. I think Leach is the best rear loader for bulk waste because of the big hopper, while McNeilus is better for normal routes because the packer is a lot faster.
I'm a loader on a heil rear loader and the thing is so slow lol. They have the truck downed right now because it's got so many issues with the packer. They're waiting to have it sent in to heil to have it fixed.
We used a McNeilus truck the past two days and it took a whole hour off both of our routes the past two days.

first time i see them clean up the leaves with a broom, all the other trucks ignore the bits that fall off the back when it crushes stuff
From what I've seen the past ten plus years, it really depends on the crew and the expectations of the hauler
These 2 guys really have no idea how to pack a truck.
It's frustrating for me to watch Abbot & Costello throw a couch in the truck just to watch it fall out because they didn't have the blade in the right position.
I ran a truck solo for 2 months and never had this type of trouble.

Depends where they dump. I know Mesa will occasionally dump at RAD, who pulls out obvious pieces of metal, cardboard, and green waste for recycling. Closest thing to a dirty MRF operation in the valley.

I have a lot of respect for american sanitation workers. I wish British binmen were like them, you will never such stuff in Britain. I wonder if this was filmed all in one day and they managed to fit all of that waste in one truck?

Electronic devices in a garbage truck ..... the US has still to learn something about recycling
Every part of the country is different. Here in my county in New Jersey we have a very strict recycling program. Electronics are not allowed in the trash.
We don't recycle here because I live in a very small city but I'm in America
Not ever city has recycling services and recycling a tv costs a lot of money and most thrift shops dont even take crts anymore like habitat for humanity they take donations of tvs but flat screens only most of what we thow out ends up geeting recycled anyways.

I wonder why people call to have these perfectly good pieces of furniture thrown away to the landfill instead of calling GoodWill or Salvation Army to donate them to people who really need them.

I would assume some have issues, couches may have bedbugs or other infestations. The "wood" furniture tends to be particle board that is junk to start off with.

I am actually surprised that they picked that up at all - in the city where I live those have to be taken to a specialty place. The trash will not pick them up.

The Leach RL is not a very good design. It pushes out a lot of material after you load it. Other designs are a lot better .
Depends how you load it... if you open the blade before loading the hopper, there shouldn't be a problem. Overall, the older Leach rear loaders were preferred by many cities and haulers due to its excellence performance and packing capabilities.
