What a great communicator. Easy to follow, very clear, very comprehensive. I'm considering purchasing EQ8 and this video showed me exactly how to use it best.
Thank you SO much. I'm a fairly new EQ8 user and showing how to translate the software into actually sewing a quilt is so appreciated. I've not seen anything with this detail except your video.
I never knew something like this existed. I’m awe struck! I had to stop the video a few minutes in to go find this on Google. It’s a bit pricey, and I’d have to wrench our laptop out of my husband’s hands (or get my own) but I have to have this now that I know about it!! Wow!!
Laura, thank you for sharing your pattern design for the quilt you demonstrated. The EQ8 allows for a variety of opportunities to design a quilt block. The first quilt I would design with my new EQ8 would be a Quilt of Valor design for my cousin who is a Vietnam Vet.
Just beautiful. Great design. Thank you for the tutorial. Looking at the Pre-Quilt app and Electric Quilt software. Love the features of changing colors and pattern. Really loving this. Thanks again. ❣️
Great quilt! Thanks for all the great info- you have a lot of toys! I have EQ8 too - but never used it - had it since EQ3! I have an AccuQuilt cutter too - never use that either - i guess I have no room to talk about amount of toys!
I think I’d make something with circles. I’ve always wanted to do it, but put it in the ‘too hard basket’! Thanks for another great tutorial, Laura. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you for using EQ8 so we see it in action and the finished quilt. Love for you to do more as I was glued to my computer watching this as I have had EQ* since it came out and not done much in it.Now you have lite my fire to design a new quilt for my California King bed with leg extension for a very tall husband. So I will try to design a 140 x140 🤞🏻
Oh my goodness!! There are “sew” many options to create with EQ8 that I can’t think of just one thing, but rather MANY things! For instance, I’ve been wanting to make a bed runner for a long time, and something for my kitchen and dining room tables, too. There there are Christmas gifts to think about. The fact that you can so easily change what the top will look like with that randomizer button is eye popping amazing!! Sometimes I have a hard time picturing something different. I’m crossing my fingers 🤞🏻 that I win! I would so very much love 😍 this - I can’t even tell you how much!!
I would like to make a quilt for my sister using a small pattern I have but making it into a larger size. I might take blocks from a few patterns and combine them. Looks like this would really help with creativity.
I would design a quilt to use a beautiful batch of fabrics that I bought about two years ago. I love the fabric but I don't know what to make with it. Your friends at EQ are very generous to be offering a free EQ8 package! Thank you for showing us hoe to use it.
I would love to make a postage stamp quilt using half triangles as close to the size of a real postage stamp dear I say I have enough scraps of fabric to make a dozen king size quilts !!! Laura I'm enjoying watching your videos they are very informative and you give simple but clear directions for us total beginners thanks
I am not sure what I would design but I sure would love to try it! Thank you for providing your pattern for free. I think I will do it in purples and greens. You are a fabulous teacher.
I love your videos, Laura! I would love to win EQ8, the first quilt I would design would be for my son - he is almost 17 months old. It would be so nice to know exactly what I need for fabrics before I buy and then need to go out and buy more when I run out! I am sure EQ8 would be perfect for that.
Thank you for such wonderful tutorials/videos. I love sampler quilts but have a hard time figuring out how to lay them out if they have multiple block sizes so I would use it to layout a sampler quilt with a variety of block sizes and think it would significantly help me lay it out.
Thank you for the chance to win! I would try designing a pattern using different size blocks in the quilt. I think these type of quilts have a great deal of visual interest
Thank you so much for the print out of your design! Think I would make this particular design out of lavender & yellow!! IF I were to win EQ8 that your giving away, the first quilt I would design would be an attempt to overlay 2 old fashioned patterns to create a new design...I would name this new design after my Great Granddaughter Caralina. I've been playing with this design using pencil & paper for a couple years now. Close but EQ8 would get it perfect!! Thanks again for your pattern!!
EQ8 would help be change 12 in quilt blocks to 16 inch blocks. Having such an issue with trying to find the blocks I want in 16 in size. My quilt I would want to make would be to finish the one I am working on. New 16 inch blocks. Thanks.
Dear Laura! I just purchased EQ8 a couple of weeks ago. Now that I‘ve seen that your quilt center piece has some sashings, I wondered if you could explain how to add them in EQ8. I have searched but wasn’t able to figure out, where I can find this feature on the software. Do I have to pretend my sashing is a block and design it in the BLOCK section? Thank you very much for sharing your techniques of working with EQ8, this is very helpful for a Newbie on the software, especially as I am not a native speaker of English and it sometimes can be a task to follow the lessons they offer, due to language lacks on my part. Best regards from Germany 🇩🇪 If anybody else reading this, who knows how to add the sashings to the center piece, I‘d really appreciate your help.
Hello I have a question... my tension spring came out of the bobbin winder..? It looks like an Omega sign. Would you try to place it back in or take it to the manufacturer/ retailer..?
Question - Does the pattern account for the little bit of extra fabric when trimming down with the Triangle Square-Up Ruler? Thanks you for another great video, Laura!
Laura, Would you show how EQ8 does the thing where it will automatically flip blocks to show all of the different layouts possible? I don't know what it's called. That is the one feature that really makes me want to get EQ8, but I have never seen it demonstrated more than a half second. Please show that feature. I think that there are many things that would interest quilters, but the two that I think are most fascinating is that you can scan your own fabric, or download, and then it will do that auto rotate/flip blocks thing. Thanks.
The Symmetry Tool!!! Such a fun tool, here's our video about it: ruclips.net/video/cFr5dpdEkF0/видео.html Feel free to contact us if you have any more questions! Contact info is here: electricquilt.com/contact-us/
Oh thank you and the company for this quilt pattern. I love it. Laura you are such a good teacher. I appreciate every video you do and the patterns. You make quilting so much fun. Thanks so very much.
In the old days, you could scan in an image of your fabric. It seems odd that they would eliminate that feature... maybe something you could suggest they bring back? 💜🌞🌵
Hi Suzi! You absolutely can scan in your fabric! That feature is a user-favorite and we've improved it in EQ8. Directions are here: support.electricquilt.com/articles/how-to-scan-fabric-for-use-in-eq8/
I have really enjoyed your videos. Thank you! You have the experience I wish I had, but that takes practice. For the giveaway I think I would like to make a 'Storm at Sea' quilt. Again, thank you!
I would like to make a quilt with different shapes. The EQ8 would be able to help me figure the math for me being math is not my strongest suits. Plus I have only been making quilts for 3 years. I really enjoy the art of quilting.
I dont know what quilt...I would just open up the EQ8 and let my imagination just take me away...maybe it would be something new...it would HAVE to have blue in it because that is my favorite color..like mixtures of light and dark!!!
