PETA Wants To BAN Fishing… So I made THIS!!

  • This is a fly made specifically for (Retracted, I’ll add it back in after the giveaway), known for their bony mouths and sharp teeth! Instead of a hook, we will actually be using brushed-out nylon cord. The idea is that when the fish takes it, the small thread will become intertwined in their teeth, enabling us to pull them in. And no, this is not a joke; it's actually a very practical method of catching these fish on a fly rod or even a conventional jig. Is it PETA-friendly? I mean, probably not, but hey, it's the next best thing!

      So enjoy your awesome videos. I'm still waiting for your reply on my answer to your question. So you got to think about how many hooks are broken off on fish in any given day. Especially saltwater with the stainless steel. I think they should all be bronze hooks. After use just rinse and freshwater and are dry. I also have a beef on how people handle their fish when releasing them. They buy this expensive non-slime net and then rough has it with their hands as they release it. What's the deal there?

    You know what, peta would be spot on about 150 years ago for stuff like fishing and hunting . However in this day and age ,modern hunting and fishing are exactly why we still have many fish and animal species and habbitats for them because modern sporstman are conservationists . The money from liscensing actually mostly goes where it is intended. We cannot stop what people did in yesteryear and to attack some of the only people who are actively improving the situation now is purely daft.

  • @kyuutatsu
    @kyuutatsu 3 месяца назад +26

    People against fishing/hunting never lived in a place with an explosive deer population and no natural predators for them. Sorry but if you let the deer population get out of control you end up with a disaster.
    Ecosystems are just very complex things. There is no “one size fits all” take on it, and while this attitude may have applied in the days where people would over hunt and over fish…that is just NOT the case anymore.
    PETA is a terrible organization that had long outlived is usefulness. Instead of being the hero, they’ve lived long enough to become the villian

    PETA needs to get its priorities straight if it weren’t for fishing and hunting many species would already be gone without our conservation. 🐟

    Occasionally needel fish come in to San Diego Bay.
    Not exactly a sports fish, but it was frustrating to miss 50 bites in a row.
    We had little version of string flies like that could catch them.
    But thinking the pattern you tied is for gar.

    Kind of ironic that fishing for gar without hooks is more a risk to the fish than a hook. Line breaks that fish will starve and the handling time is ridiculous trying to get it out of their mouths.
    There’s a few hooked designs from people who catch a lot of gar on fly that are worth a look if plan on targeting these fish ethically

    • @thecrittercage8255
      @thecrittercage8255 3 месяца назад

      Well I agree with the line breaking thing but for at least alligator gar the can be out of the water for a couple hours without any harm. And I've seen scientists handle fish way longer than fisherman

      @@Offbeatbass101 idk I'm in AZ where there is no gar so I don't really look into that stuff that much. But depending on how expensive that stuff is it might be better to just build skill in untangling rope from the gar cause in my opinion skill is better than equipment like 90% of the time

    • @Offbeatbass101
      @Offbeatbass101 3 месяца назад
