Love the fly, my question is how do you fish it. Line,? Retrieve?
John, thanks for the great question! Sorry for the slow reply. The leaders I use for bass are about 12 ft. long with 10-12 lb floro tippet. The worm is popped or slowly stripped, but it is typically eaten on the drop so really watch your leader/fly line while fishing it. Great fished on a sink-tip leader in the summer as well. Tight lines!
I wonder if it would be "quicker" to "furl" it around the braid like you did on the 1st one. It would be a little stiffer but I think I might try both types for my arctic char trip next weekend.
