Thanks! Yeah they are not too hard to tie honestly, and if you havent fished them before, super visible and quite effective for a wide range of fish species.
Nice vid McFly. Have you seen these? www.riverroadcreations.com/hoppercaddisant.htm I saw one on a TU tying vid. Look pretty handy if you're tying a lot of the same pattern.
Yes, however they are expensive. For one, which only ties one size (well a range of like 2-3 hook sizes) but the same size top hopper, you will pay $10-20 depending on where you get it. For a full set, to tie a wide range of sizes, ive seen them very expensive (like $70) Kinda pricy. Getting from their site tends to be a bit cheaper, but still. For me, it takes a half second longer to tie them this way, and im quite happy with the result. But I see the allure of the cutter. You can get perfectly cut and shaped bodies every time. For me, I feel like nature isnt perfect, and having each one slightly different than the next is not a bad thing. :)
this was just a really good tying video. can't give much more of a compliment- really good work.
Thank you
Takes some talent to tie that puppy. Well done Angler!
Thanks! Honestly, after doing a few, they are relatively easy.
I love this variation. Super fun to tie. I’ve had trout pull off the legs, but the browns come in like a tank and swallow it.
Lol, yeah brown trout are very aggressive little eaters.
That's neat I'll have to give it a try! Great video Shawn!
