Try making a gratin with yam, maybe some potato too plus cream, bonito flakes on top when it is ready, it is delicious.

Even though my diet is plant based, I love your videos because I learn a lot and I can adapt and replace some of the ingredients. Thank you so much !

Me too! I eat meat that's been raised on plants therefore, plant-based :-)

How do you replace it? I also eat plant based

@@blume0121 when I cook vegan/vegetarian, I use a LOT of mushrooms! I make that the "meat" of the dish. I love tofu, too. Oooh eggplant can replace meat in lots of dishes. Lasagne for one?

@@Bowie_E Mushrooms are my favorite food, and i love vegetables, but they can not replace meat regarding protein. I was rather expecting that you use a type of tofu or beans

Thank you Sayaka for another great clip, all recipes are very nice, although I never tried with salmon. During winter seasons in Japan we often made hot-pots of various kinds, chanko nabe, sukiyaki, motsu with cabbage etc. Used to watch sumo in the bathtub, we had a small TV set in the wall. About the curry roux I always find S&B here in Romania, only sometimes Java or Torokeru. I learned to love Japanese curry and especially S&B during the years in Japan. Now I cook it often, medium Golden Curry with beef or minced beef, keema with corn, this along with all Indian and Seychelles curries. I found cheese very expensive in Japan, but we liked the yellow one from Hokkaido, is it still sold today? Arigato!

      Thank you for your comment!
Yes, Japanese cheese is very expensive. It would be totally different from Europe. I rarely buy cheese, so I'm a little unsure about that yellow cheese 😅
You've had so many kinds of nabe dishes in Japan. That's amazing!
Eating chanko while watching sumo would be perfect! 🤭

Hello, well done for your channel, I am fascinated to see you work food and vegetables for making ramen soups, hot pots dishes, etc..
I like the fact that you give proportions for a person.
I have a question, can we make your recipes with frozen vegetables?
I think prepare, as for meats, individual doses of cut vegetable mixture (depending on the recipes) and freeze them..Do you think my idea is good?
    Thanks in advance.

Where we lived in Japan for many years we had a TV set in the wall next to the bathtub, I used to watch sumo and drink a chu-hi. And, hot pots were very frequent in the winter.

The second one looks really good. I may try it without the mochi. I'm pretty sure I can find fried tofu. Just have to travel a bit for it.
I think golden curry is so popular because people like you use it all the time. And that's what we buy and it's delicious. 😂

For curry, a Japanese supermarket in my country has three brands: Java, Golden and S&B Torokeru. I ordered Golden Curry because there was a campaign to get a free curry pouch haha.
For me, I want to try the nabe with soy milk! I have all the ingredients except chicken, because I made curry yesterday.

Even I would choose golden curry in that case haha
The soy milk one was sooo tasty, so hope you will like it!

Whenever I make soup, I saute the onion, garlic, and carrots before adding the water/broth to do the protein and remaining ingredients. Would doing this make it less than authentic chanko? If not, my little ones and I have lived on chanko for years and years 😂

Chicken without bone and skin can be made good broth too?! if added sake or mirin or milk to remove unpleasant smell jst in case.
    ゜゜(´O`)°゜* Thanks for teaching.
Earthen wares or chopsticks from Japan are very practical to use. And i think the shape is so great as well.💛🧸🍙
