Yeah it might have been for a more exciting shot 😁 . We also wanted to see how the Westy felt tipped a bit and sometimes the best line isn’t always the funniest line! 😂 Thanks for watching! Nate
Wow, that was quite the road you went up. First time I went to the Grand Canyon I thought it would be warm, even in Nov., because "it was in the Desert in Arizona ...... Little did I know it was over 9,000 feet high.....froze my butt off......
Another nice one, thanks as always for sharing! Big tires and the relatively tall 3.78:1 first gear makes crawling those steep loose grades a challenge, but you made your way!
I can’t blame Nancy for being cautious at the walks on the North Rim. It’s HIGH. I felt exactly the same when I was there . I had some issues with people picking over my little trailer when I was there and left before dark. That corner of the world is so overloaded it’s hard to stay away. Zion, Bryce, Red Rocks, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Taos, Los Alamos, all destination spots. I haven’t been to Mesa Verde yet.
Another awesome place is Toroweap overlook, there are 9 campsites there and you need to book a site ahead of time, you can drop a rock off a cliff there and hit the Colorado River 3000 ft below.
I may have been more reckless than you want to be on that Toroweap journey. Epic overlook, I'm sure you've seen photos. Nice campground there also. Point Sublime video was very nice BTW.@@ThatBaldwinLife
😂 I have seen a few pics/vids of trip out there. I believe that Jorge and Jessica did it in their syncro years ago. Is it just the rock ledges that are the tough part? nate
It's been 10+ years. The part I am remembering is a steep climb up a hill with ruts and loose rocks. I think it all depends on how recently the road has been graded and whether or not the storms have washed it out.@@ThatBaldwinLife
Awesome video! Camped at Point Sublime in June, 2021 (same "good side" campsite you have here) and just got my permit today to go back this coming late May. Can't wait!
Awesome. I was wondering - you might have mentioned this but I didn’t see it after some looking around your videos - what headlight kit is that? The GoWesty circle headlight adapter? Love those and the fog lights. Also, how do you like your spare swingarm, van cafe right? Sorry for all the questions, just got my van and trying to make it better
The headlight kit is from GoWesty as are the inner fog lights. We did a video on the install a while back if you want to check it out. We love our RMW/Vancafe swing out and it has been super solid. Highly recommended. Ask as many questions as you want! Nate
This brings back some great memories of my trip there. It is amazing. Nate do you have a lift on the van? I know you mentioned it in a previous video but it has escaped my mind.
We have about a 1” or so lift on it with 215/65/16” tires and we used it all on the rutted part of the trail! Such an amazing place to visit. Thanks for watching!! Nate
Question: if this is a Syncro, where is the gas tank? Doesn't seem to be at the rear and the filler for the center mounted 2WD tank under the passenger is still present. ???
It's funny because Nancy always swore she would never get close to the edge. Then we go to Point Sublime and it all changed. I think the magic of the place over powered the fear of being close to the edge. Proud of her. thanks for watching nate
“I love that guy”, Amen! 😂 thanks, great video!
😁He’s my boy!!
Thanks for watching!
Nate
Me and the wife and morning coffee with the latest Baldwin adventure vid. Thanks for letting us tag along. Another wonderful video. 👍
Our pleasure! Thanks so much for tagging along!
Nate
Great views and a great way to see them. I probably would have straddled some of those ruts, but the angle was good for the camera view. :D.
Yeah it might have been for a more exciting shot 😁 . We also wanted to see how the Westy felt tipped a bit and sometimes the best line isn’t always the funniest line! 😂

Nate
Great video. Greater camping spot. Take care and have a Vantastic Adventure 👍
Thanks! It will go down as one of our favorite spots to date.
Nate
I feel you Nancy… I’ve felt the unease of being on a ledge.
Thanks! It's hard to get past that sometimes.
Nancy
You guys devoured that up!!
We ate
camping in the wild ..... nothing beats it.
It’s the best!!
Thanks for watching!

@@ThatBaldwinLife Best Wishes !!

Yeah up at that elevation it got cold at night in October! Beautiful though!!
Nate
Grand Canyon is a magical place to visit. Big old hole in the ground.
It is amazing and we are so glad we got the chance to finally visit!
Another nice one, thanks as always for sharing! Big tires and the relatively tall 3.78:1 first gear makes crawling those steep loose grades a challenge, but you made your way!
Thanks! Yeah a 2wd Vanagon with bigger tires is not a rock crawler by any means! Nor do we have the power to motor up stuff. Poor clutch! 😂
Nate
Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year
Thank you and you as well. Appreciate you following our adventures
Nate
Excellent cinematography. Seems like a tough road!
Thanks!! It was pretty gnarly in some places.

Yeah it’s almost hard to imagine how high up it is. But those views!!
Sorry to hear about your trailer, that’s no good.
Nate
All great spots. If you’re going to Mesa book the tour early on line. Rec. Gov. Have fun.
Yes, book early! Fills up fast

I’ve heard of Toroweap and will add it to the list. Sounds like a pretty epic place to camp!
Thanks for watching!!
Nate
That campsite looks like it was well worth the trip. I’ll put that on the list of places to take my westy to!
It was absolutely worth it!! It should be at the top of your list
Nate
I’m going. Nice. Westy inspiration
Go for it! You’ll love it!
Nate
Wow! The views there are insane! Nice work!!
It is a pretty special place.
Thanks for watching!
Nate
Another great video, id love to visit the grand canyon someday. Wishing you all the best in your travels from one t3 owner in the UK to another.
Thanks, you too!
Nate
👍
👍🏻👍🏻

Kolob next, awesome. I've had my (2WD) Westy out to Toroweap. Local wisdom is you always bring two spares on that trip.
Toroweap is on our list now too! Next time we are down in that area we will try and check it out.
Thanks for watching!!

Hi! Our Westy is a 2wd so there is no rear tank just the front tank.
Thanks for watching!
Nate
@@ThatBaldwinLife 2WD can do a lot if you have a positraction rear, but some muddy roads and trails looked sketchy!
Yeah the Peloquin is nice to have for sure! Sketchy is fun 😁

Where did you get that North America Sticker map??? Thank you…
The guy I got it from doesn’t make them anymore. I have seen similar ones on Etsy though.
