Those unexpected detours are the gems! I've learned to not be too bummed out if a planned dispersed spot is unavailable (though I usually have a plan A, B and C) because we have discovered some great spots we would not have normally experienced had all of our "planned" spots been available.
I never knew that road existed!! Dang it!!sometimes no plan is the best plan!! What a great opportunity and you had wisdom to take it!! I’m not a “permit” camper but I would have made an exception for that trip!!
Drive this way the week before Thanksgiving. Thought it was one of the prettiest drives in AZ. Thanks for sharing
I'll be there the day after Christmas! Thanks for showing me what I have to look forward too.
Lovely video Shelby. I really enjoyed your explanation of the road and view. Shawn and Corinne (Travels of Red Rover)

Shelby loved it!!
Yes, she did :-). She usually stays away from water and here she went into the cold Colorado River.

They seem strict on their permits in this area, but I agree - there are exceptions worth making. This is one of them.
Watching your stories from Korea. Wish oneday I can do the trip like what you are doing now. Wonderful views and exciting trips.
Thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate it :-)
