For all the lazy-thinkers saying "the movie would be annoying with voices like the originals," voice actors have this thing called "range" where we can make our voices as grounded or over the top as we choose...

1:10 With this, I realized one of the major problems with Chris Pratt's voice, it has no energy. In the original trailer, he sounds so bored upon being hit by a bullet bill and flying at the speed of sound. Here, he sounds like he's screaming his last words before he dies a painful death

I remember when the original Lego movie trailer came out (I worked at a theater at the time, so I heard it like 3 times an hour in the lobby) and I felt like it was going to be a steaming pile of garbage from the advertisements. Then it turned out to be a great movie, Chris Pratt's performance included.
I wouldn't be surprised if the takes Chris gives in the trailer are NOT the takes we'll hear in the final cut, that happens a lot too.
The "wahoo" take usedin the trailer especially felt like he was told "okay, now lets do some wahoos!" by the director and they saved his first one. To me at least.
He did sound better in some of those leaked scenes though

I actually like the voice over of Jack Black for Bowser & Charlie Day for Luigi, although I like Chris Pratt as an actor but I am not sure if he was the right voice for Mario. In the case of Princess Peach I feel Anna Taylor Joy should have put a little touch on the voice to give it just enough of Princes Peach tone.
Yeah, if Anna Taylor Joy was going to take the voice in such a different direction I wish at least she would have made a stronger choice to give Peach her British accent.

It's not Chris' fault that he doesn't sound right. The company wanted a "different approach" so they asked him to not do the voice from the games. Either way I don't think we would be able to stand Charles' voice in it for an 86-minute movie.

The voice clips and sfx was amazingly well done. I do love the actual movie actors tho too. Im just happy they made this movie. Im gonna enjoy every second of it. This video and all the voice clips made me rethink of my childhood. Thank You!

LOL. Princess Toadstool looked epically as though she was quietly, calmly UNglued as possible when she had her weapon with her! Her humming seemed to be like she was thinking "I'm feeling sooo cute today- I'm gonna just KILL everything that looks at me the wrong way! I LOVE seeing pinkish BLOOD everywhere from enemies!" ROFL!
Some of these do feel like edits while a huge ton feel legit. This is really well done.
Now this is the Mario movie the fans of "Nintendo", not "Illumination" deserve.

I was pleasantly surprised with how all the other celebrities managed to fit these iconic Nintendo characters so well. However I can not say the same for Chris Pratt. His performance just seems so lifeless. Charles Martinet is the only true Mario in this galaxy and the fact that he’s in the movie and not even playing the iconic plumber is even more insulting.
