A lawsuit filed on June 19 alleges Valdosta, GA, police used excessive force in a February 2020 incident where they mistook the plaintiff, Antonio Arnelo Smith, for someone who had an outstanding warrant. In body camera footage released by the city, officers can be seen approaching Smith and arresting him.

Beaten, arrested, killed, or locked up for decades for a crime they didn't commit. Just look at how many no knock raids of the wrong house occur in the US. 1/4th of these wrong house raids ends up in innocent people getting shot or injured.

If u pay attention a whole lot of these cases involve a person complying to orders or at least trying to comply (bc orders also get very confusing and contradictory) but then police escalates the situation when the human is just becoming scared/nervous/angry which are Normal Reactions when u get arrested, especially if u know you're innocent.
Let's pretend for a second he was the guy they were after that had the warrant, at that point when the officer crept up behind him and slammed him he wasn't resisting or being aggressive it was totally out of order and that cop should be fired

1) The asked him for ID.
2) He gave it IMMEDIATELY and told DETAILED what he was doing and that his sister can prove it
3) The put him in a hold
4) Body slam him to the ground
5) Put him in handucffs
6) Break his Wrist
7) "Is That him"
8) "No"
The worst part is they slammed him to the ground to get his id, which he was going to show them voluntarily

He looks extremely worried because he knows that he will be charged with assault, lose his job and will have to front up in court to defend his actions. The other officers look equally concerned as they know they are to varying degrees complicit. It sickens me to imagine how many black people over the decades were treated like this and could not prove it. There is no doubt this man will get a bit pay out and will deserve every cent. They did ask for his ID and he gave it to them. But somehow they got information a warrant was out for his arrest. But it wasn’t him it was someone else. Apparently the older cop must have gotten the info and decided to bear hug the guy out of the blue (which freaked the guy out) then they body slammed him to try and cuff him and broke his arm in the process.

When doctors make a mistake, its called malpractice and they are immediately given a severe consequence or even jail time. When cops make a mistake and break a guy's wrist, they get off the hook or have some bad excuse as to why. Two jobs handle people's lives, yet their mistakes are taken in two different ways.

Difference is doctors spend years going to college to get a degree that gives them legal ability to do the procedure, and a cop gets a high school diploma and a couple months of physical training.
