1. Stock exhaust (not being loud enough)
2. Backseat (you cant actually use it, its too small)
3. Headunit (center screen is just not good. Slow interface and other various issues)
4. Wheel spacing (vertical gap is a few inches, side gap is an inch or inch and a half)
5. Torque dip (google it, its pretty simple)
He doesn't really hate them, they're just small annoyances.

The back seats were added for the pure purpose of keeping your insurance lower. The aim of the car was to keep cost of owning low and sustainable because they understood their target market would be a younger crowd

Do you really think insurance companies are stupid enough to be fooled by the existence of back seats in a sportscar?
This is a myth. When I owned my first frs it would have been cheaper for me to insure a $100k Audi R8 than it was for my frs. I'm not making that up either I legitimately did a quote for that. Insurance rates comes from statistical likelihood of you crashing the car and cost to repair. If anything having backseats, tiny or not, adds risk cause you could get in an accident with up to 4 people rather than just 2.
The insurance claim is a myth. Insurance is based off of the statistics of drivers who buy them, not the way that the car is built.
That is an absolutely ridiculous made up excuse as to why they wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on designing and building two useless back seats.

Also I just recently got jdl UEL headers and oft stage 2 plus and the car drives way better! Torque dip not noticeable now
A friend got a 86. I am 169cm (5.54 feet) short and I bang my head against the back window, while also having no space for my legs.

Had my brz for about 3 months now... Trunk space is another issue however the foldable rear "seats" make it convenient for putting extra items in.

I can throw my girlfriend in the back and my friend in the front seat, so for me it's a decent 3 seater lol

I’ve had two 6’ fully grown men in the backseat of my brz. They had to take their shoes off so they don’t scrape everything up when their legs end up on top of each other’s 😂

I like the back seats when you have short peoples... 2 family members are: 5feet tall so they fit perfect...tho I tried and at 5'8" my head hits the back glass...

Back seat? Ever been in a 90's Camero or Mustang? If you ever rode your bike through a mud you can figure out why the wheels are tucked. The car isn't a manuel transmission! Can your use the paddles to shift and keep the engine rev's where they need to be?
Having an frs I can agree more with the seats not breathing your back sweats even in the winter

does your brz have those crickets noise going on? or did they fix it in 2023+ model cars? if anyone know please let me know cuz im planning on getting a brz 2023 or 2024 but if they still have the cricket noise going on i might have to rethink what car to get
I have a blue 2019 limited. I hate the location of the cup holders. You have to reach back to get your drink. I agree with you about the power band. The first two gears are way too short. The car likes to rev and rev it does. Getting out of it is a pain in the ass for a 49 year old man with back issues ( I actually bought the car for my son but he can’t drive stick yet) but damn this car is fun to drive. I haven’t owned a 6 speed vehicle in years and forgot how much fun it is to row through the gears. This little car handles like it’s on rails. I just did my first oil change and I have to say this is the easiest car to do an oil change on! Once it was on my ramps it literally took me 5 minutes to do the job. At first I looked under it and saw this huge skid plate and thought damn! 😞 Then I noticed the opening for the drain plug!
I like the way the stock exhaust sounds. I think the boxer engine is the best sounding 4 banger out there. I’ve always been a V8 guy. Yeah the back seat is a joke but It is nice to have someplace to stuff a third passenger in an emergency. Also need a place to put jackets and stuff like that! I really like the car over all.
Grayson McTaggart I want my kids to know how to drive a stick. It’s a dying art now days. I wanted to test drive an automatic just to check it out but the salesman told me they are so unpopular that he doesn’t even have any on order. No way I would have bought one though, I just wanted to see how much power the Auto robbed from the motor. I only saw one used one for sale with an automatic. Mine looks exactly like yours. I subscribed. Looking forward to more videos.

If I buy a BRZ in future, I would do this mods
1. New coilover to decrease the car height just a 1 inch to give that low rider feel and no cambers
2. Wider tyre and wheel mainly at the rear to have more grip and a better look at the back
3. A black tint on all windows and headlights and also black badging on logos
4. A new tune mainly to remove the torque dip at 2500rpm and 4000rpm
5. Some interior changes like new steering wheel, better infotainment and other things
6. Definitely a new exhaust like maybe hookers or nvidia
7. Maybe a new vinyl wrap like a satin red finish and black hood and top
8. I will make the engine bay neat and also add some red accents on some parts

Yeah. Stupid me did the torque dip tune removal in 3 different places...... it did nothing. Damn torque dip is still there. You need a better cam. At that point, yes. Get a stronger car.
You can flip the headrest and it works well when you have a racing helmet on. So I have read.

So currently in the market for a new car. I own a 2008 mustang gt atm. Im ive been looking to get a brz cause i love the look. But my question is how is it for taller people? Im 6'4 an struggle to fit into many cars without akwardly tilting my head to avoid scraping the top of the car.

I just want a brz so i can pass my mustang down to my brother who is about to get his license. It will become my daily driver to get back and forth from work
I want a brz but the wheel space is pretty ugly stock like you said. I was thinking wheel spacers but you said that most people were against them idk why?
Lack of a real cup holder or real center console you pick. I have a drop in custom arm rest installed which is amazing, but that just leaves me the door cup holders. Which is all great until the lid starts coming off your Chick-fil-a Lemonade and it starts running down the side of the door and onto the latch. To clean that lemonade I keep baby wipes under a hoodie in that backseat non backseat. When sitting in traffic for hours in Atlanta it's all about the comfort.

You can not have a better small buget sport car than BRZ! It is perfect the way it is right now....trust me ...just drive it and you will find out.
Between the FR-S, the BRZ and the GT86, which one is more economic, more reliable and better for insurance?
probably the toyota, but i am pretty certain they all share the same engines, but i would definitely go with the toyota.
So im a teenager and i’ve never driven manual in my life but i really want a brz and i don’t know if it’s worth it to learn how to drive manual when i can just get it in automatic. i know automatic has 5 less horsepower but it’s a brz so i’m not really getting it for horsepower anyway. also, i also live in a pretty populated town which usually has a lot of traffic so that’a something to keep in mind to. so should i just get it in automatic? any help is appreciated thanks
Things I didn’t like about a manual:
1) Driving it after “leg day”
2) If you injure your left leg or right hand/wrist it’s hard to drive.
My seat belt strap button keeps unbuttoning and it's annoying. Putting your cell phone on the passenger's seat makes the seat belt alarm trigger... annoying. Another thing are the worn strikers. The doors do not stay open and end up closing on my leg. But the strikers can be replaced. And I do not mind the exhaust. I like it quiet, yet sporty... keeping it stock 👍
I HATE how the dirt and crumbs get stuck in the folds of the seats where you actually sit its impossible to keep clean
I hear the sunvisor is an issue...heard a few reports about people (when getting in the front seats) hitting their heads on them if they're not put back up. Mine is actually broken off !

The door! I squeeze myself into the 86 everyday cuz there’s not enough space to fully open the door when somebody is parking next to my car.
That's a coupe problem, not a 86/BRZ problem
They call it 2+2 for a reason...The rear seats are only there as backups for kids or shorter people or extra storage 🙂🙂...Or just look at it as a space behind the seats with some padding...

At 35yo I'm an old fart, so stuff like wheel gap and exhaust noise don't bother me. Pushing the wheels out flush will ruin the suspension geometry which I don't want for autocross. My house already rumbles from the stock exhaust, so a louder aftermarket exhaust would just annoy my neighbours. I only find the stock exhaust too quiet when I have the windows down and the wind noise makes it hard to hear when to shift. And I don't like how recessed the stock USDM exhaust tips are - need to find the JDM tips. The 2019 head unit with android auto is great - very easy to use.
Good to know, I'm ordering an 86 soon. Up to an 8 month lead time though...

It’s more for cheaper insurance purposes lol which as an owner I’m not complaining about because without those seats premiums would jump up considerably

You've pretty much nailed it. I have a '15 Premium, I love the car, but it has those annoying problems that beg to be fixed. I fixed the torque dip with the OFT plus the FT86 catted header. I'm saving for a stainless exhaust. I've installed Toyota mud flaps; they look nice and help the tires fill the wheel wells. I put one size bigger tires on Enkei RPF1 wheels and that helps a bit too. Replacing the standard Michelin Harmony's with Pilots totally changes how this car hooks up.
You didn't mention the rear view blind spots! I put in an aftermarket backup camera and blue tint convex side mirrors to help with the blind spots. The touch screen head unit can be very frustrating. I did not replace it but I replaced the cheap OEM speakers with decent aftermarket speakers. I can write a book about this sound system. Thank God it has a built in equalizer and adjustable source level settings. The speaker crossover wiring and amplification is different for each speaker location and it's quite puzzling until you figure it out. I replaced the cheap Chinese speakers with 2 pair of 3-1/2" Infinity Reference 2-ways in the dash and rear "seat" panels and then used the 6-1/2" woofers out of a set of Polk MM 6502 component speakers, ditching the crossovers and the tweeters. I had to fabricate brackets for the dash and rear panel speakers but in the end it was worth it and it now sounds great.
I actually dont really have a problem with the backseats because I only put kids there and never had to put tall people back there

The backseats really are a non-issue, though. It's better than nothing, as people do technically fit in them. To expect more room in a car like this would be odd, but to expect no seats instead is also odd.
