Some of the Solognac clothing is great for the price. I just picked a merino wool baselayer for 12 quid. The most frustrating thing with decathlon is the sizing, some stuff fits perfectly and some comes up too small or massively too big and they’ll all be the same size. Just trial and error with what you can manage. Still superb for the money.
I've been buying solognac/decathlon outdoor gear for past couple of years , got trousers ,pouches, pack etc and swear by them for the money I don't think you can beat them. Bought there bushcraft knife £10 at the time , good knife and sheath for a tenner. As always Andy a good vid
Thanks for the tips on moderately-priced bushcraft gear! I look forward to future videos of this type and to seeing how well this kit wears and performs in cold weather.
I live in France where we have decathlon everywhere. I buy nearly all my clothes there. And the solognac fixed blades are great. The steel is a bit soft but can be resharpened easily. The 90mm and 130mm are great but for the price of yours i prefer a real mora. The solognac folders cut great but the pivot needs tightening regularly. The edc bags in the hunting section are really great and cheap. Didn't know they had shops in the UK. Basically very good value gear. All price ranges but even the lowest range i have never had problems. That said, top quality costs top price as every where. If it is the same gear as in France i would recomend it to anyone. Especially novices who can start at less cost. Been wearing and using decathlon brand gear for over 20 yrs. Sorry to be a bit long. Good health and stay safe.
I do to, just wander and dream. Those cheap day packs in the hiking section are great too. I have several of the small and medium hunters edc pouches. They are great for fire kits, first aid kits, knife maintenance kits and personal hygiene kits. The foldable drop pouch meant for empty shells is great for collecting tinder. In the fishing section the springs for opening pike's mouthes make great pot and bottle hangers. I could go on for hours. Good health, stay safe.
Iv always found work clothes (specifically those used by building site labourers) to be particulaly hard wearing. I was fortunate enough to have been given a pair of workmans trousers and they pretty much became my every day wear when foraging or just general out and aboutery for a good few years till the flies decided to give out. mainly as they were so functional and pretty comfortable as well. Massive pockets on the knee area also that are technically supposed to be for knee protection. But equally make excelent storage.
Decathlon is my favourite shop you don't need to spend a fortune to get good quality stuff and they are very reasonable with all their prices . I got brilliant ski and sailing jackets from them very pleased . Over here in France they have stores everywhere , cheers for the upload .
I'm currently waiting to hear from Solognac regarding purchasing their products in the states so watch this space and ill update a pinned comment when I hear back. Here is Decathlon Canada: www.decathlon.ca/
Cool! Andy, my wife Lorraine works part time in the bike department at Decathlon here in Brum. We LOVE her 30% staff discount! A very generous company that looks after its staff really well.👍🏻
This brand is seriously underrated, i bought a two people hammock in Decathlon for 40 bucks for my motocamping trips, still going strong 5 years later, that girl is bulletproof, i use it alone because two people hammocks are longer, angle is not that steep and the weight it can carry is insane, you can jump on a thing and it wont budge. I also bought a 200 dollar Snugpack strotsphere bivi bag thats supposedly water proof and ended up completely soaked inside in a very mild central european rain, i would have been better off sleeping in a garbage bag 🤣
Looks like good gear Andy. I’m a big fan of Decathlon gear, been using their fleeces, backpacks, thermals etc for a few years and can vouch for the quality! Love your wee griddle and the bacon sizzling away in it........right I’m off to the fridge..........again! Thanks mate!
Nice review Andy. It's a pleasant change to see a company who go up to bigger sizes rather than assuming you must be a skinny wee thing to be outdoorsy. I too like bacon and pie. 😉

Cheers Del, yeah.. they are very good, especially for the money, the trousers ive had for over a year are doing great still and they get worked!, just bought a few more bits too myself haha
It’s a great budget range. The only thing that puts me off their gear is that it’s all Polyester/ Nylon and sparks would melt holes in it. I’d be interested to know how breathable their trousers are. Overpricing is one thing but usability another. If Solognac made ventile gear, they’d sell out! Thanks for the video.
Not all , shirt that is on him is cotton, only padded shoulders polyester (but under that polyester is also cotton) . Solognac also sells 100% cotton pants and jackets, i bought for myself 100% cotton pants and shirts from them.
Great informative video. I'm currently on the lookout for a pair of winter trousers and they seem to fit the bill. Thanks for sharing looks like you will say me a fortune, at. Garry.👍👍👍👍

Thanks Buddy
Good video and good price point clothing.
cheers Paul.. the exact reason I wanted to do this video, get the word out that you can get decent stuff and not break the bank
Another good video nice reviews liked comment on overpriced names keep it up
Great informative video. I'm currently on the lookout for a pair of winter trousers and they seem to fit the bill. Thanks for sharing looks like you will say me a fortune, at. Garry.👍👍👍👍
Cheers :) really enjoying them so far.. will update through the winter vids
