- Handpan lesson #1 "Double strokes in a linear fashion" (0:42) This technique can be applied to many other instruments as well! (1:45 demo) Practice very slowly until you feel comfortable speeding up incrementally faster and faster. This same technique can also be used to achieve a drum roll. Happy practicing! Enjoy! : )
Thank you. A really great way you have in teaching. Love it and will watch out for more of your tutorials.
thank you! This is a great technique to practice.. amazing how fast you can just float around the handpan!
Thanks Jean-Marc Abela glad you found it helpful!
As a beginning student of music with the handpan, I recognize the dedication you have towards your passion. With proper practice, I aim to reach your level.
It sounds so cool when the double rolls are split
Thank you! 🙏
Very nice, looking forward to seeing these videos progress.
Love your matter of fact mastery
Hey Man, just want to say that I love your channel. I love your groove on the handpan and hte techniques you are showing. I am a a handpan player myself and never touch any other instrument before so I love the pointers you are giving, I hope your will continue to post some '' lessons'' vids'' even if they it looks easy for you and might help a bunch of newbies like me. Thanks again
Hello phil choq ! I'm very happy to hear you are enjoying my channel! I'm happy to share my grooves & world percussion techniques on handpan with you. If you have any ideas for any other lessons let me know! :)
I just begiging drum, i dont understand every word but i can see, it is COOOL, thank you very much !!!
thanks!
Those are great tips!! You should continue with it... #1 is there missing #2, #3, etc...
What is also important to have in mind is trying not to mute the notes while hitting them. Man i told you before and I say again. I am curious to see your development in handpan in one year!
For when the first recordings?? ;)
***** Thank you my friend! This is #1, its the only lesson so far. This is all I felt comfortable talking about since I have only been playing handpan for 2 months, and this technique is something I have been doing on table tops since high school. I do mention to pretend the pan is a hot oven, to not mute the tone fields as much. Unless you are going for a muted sound that is. Thanks for the kind words I will make lesson #2 soon. But first more practice ; ) Pan on!
New to all this. Why is the handpan your favorite instrument, back in the year you posted this? 2013? Thanks! Sayre D new owner.
Yeah! Master! :-D
