Most wonderful sounding synth I’ve tried in a looooong time. Nice playing Hazel! 🙌🏼
Thank you! 😊
@truecuckoo Have you played with the 3rd Wave yet ? 😉
You ain't so cuckoo, are you Cuckoo?
@@symbiat0yeah I have the super 6 and was thinking of getting a 3rd wave!
@@ToneBoneFromTheThrone 3rd Wave will definitely by my next flagship synth purchase this year.
This might be the best aesthetically pleasing hands-on synth to date.
Honestly stellar. Thanks for mostly talking at the end. The demo was fantastic. This is really high up on my list. I have a Super 6, but from a performance perspective this is extremely refined. Very much a CS-80 for this age.
This demo sounds amazing, every patch is so spacious and detailed! Great work Hazel
A wonderful presentation. There is "something" within the oscillators that sounds amazing. A real masterpiece by UDO (and a beauty too).
This is a definitely sell-your-studio type of synth. Its not just the sound quality, but I think more importantly the control. First synth with both polyphonic aftertouch and a long ribbon controller for ages!
Hydrasynth.
@@RayyMusik Hydrasynth is well regarded, but isn't a hybrid synth like the Super Gemini. I like the analog filters, that touch strip and the look of the thing. But it is expensive!
@@Andronicus2007 Also for my ears the SG sounds better. But the HS does have poly AT and a long ribbon. In so far the SG is not the first for ages.
What an incredible synth! Truly ground breaking. Great work ! :)
This may be your next "new" favorite synth ;) Hard to imaging anything knocking that 3rd Wave off of its perch. UDO may have a shot...
I plan on losing days when I get my Gemini... Another classic George.
my freaking god. Its beautiful. I must have it.
An inspirational demo, indeed - great playing and choice of sounds! I think you really captured what this instrument is about when you said "you can create almost an entire arrangement just with this one synth" - it so lends itself to performance and sound creation 'on the fly'. Finally, an instrument aimed at musical exploration for the sake of it and not for making songs on.
I feel like the moog matriarch is also more aimed at these type of 'explorations' rather than making music
It would be mine soon Great sounding synth and great demo, thanks!
You had to release this a year after I bought the Super 6. Great.
Sell it then and buy the Super Gemini. You're gonna have two 6's in one box.
Yeah same, but I honestly might save up for the Super Gemini so I can have both in a few years
Never heard or seen this synthesizer before.. so now I must have one.. sounds pretty darn good...
I have been waiting for a review like this. Nice job Hazel - and I like that it was short and sweet. I am really digging the 'mood' of this synth if that makes sense and seems it could cover a wide palette from melancholy to bright. This one is definitely on my short-list.
You have an amazing imaging of sound capability, moving from inspiration to actuality, love the platforming and weaving movement you brought. loved it. thank you.
Wonderful sounds
I'm not sure who this is doing your demo (though I'll be checking out more of her work), but she should probably demo anything and everything synth-related from now on. Nice to see something that's not just a janky sequence and/or half-assed chord progression with a heavy hand on the filters and envelopes.
Hazel plays live keys with Florence and the Machine... Goldfrapp... And she's classically trained. Is her name not somewhere on this video? ;-)
wow, this sounds incredible...
I'm in love with this synth.. and I already have a Super-6 rack 😵
Bravo ! Thanks to Sonicstate I know you both.
Merci George for those extraordinary machines you make me dream about.
Merci Hazel , great perf, and I learn a lot observing someone operating.
From Normandie, France. Best regards
Now is the time for everything to be available. And a lot of people started having synthesizer computers and it's easier to write music than it was in the 80's but no one can write anything.
Wowsers trousers.
Fantastic! I'm back in the primordial soup of life 🙂
Picked up mine yesterday, it's amazing
time to start saving up!
Sounds Like Bladerunner & Dune.😍
I wait for the vst Version of it.
Yes yes yes!!! Can’t wait to play this baby.
Amazing synth to me it looks like having a modern CS 80 :)
On first sight from proportion it looked like modern jupiter 8. Soundwise it's a cs80 with great digital textures
I have the super 6 and has a cs-60. The Cs-60 is on another level!
Great piece.
Very impressive patch design and demo.
This thing sounds so good in the right hands. I wonder if I could make it sound this nice. I watched a fairly new movie a few days ago and thought of the soundtrack, It must have been a UDO synthesizer. Things were happening that I've never heard before, rather like in this demonstration. Wonderful
Excellent demo 👍👍👍, thanks for sharing 🙏
Phenomenal stuff!
When you're done just mail it to my house..It will be used daily..Imagining this working along with one of my hardware samplers, with no limits...It's already a classic..
I need this
Love to see you guys make a synth that can load wav or multi samples like soundfont and stream them off ssd or something with your synth engine .
More please!
Epic synth and amazing demo. Ill demo this one day may take me 30 yrs though
Excellent colour scheme, if me I’d do one in black yellow and red too 👍🏼sounds great
I adore this, but $4200 is extremely steep. Hazel is wonderful!
I get that it is expensive but I feel like the synth community has a bad perspective sometimes.
Toy price tags lead to toy synths. We have to let some synths be instruments with instrument price tags.
Don’t think of this in comparison to something like a volca. Think of this in comparison to a professional level violin, a classic Fender, or a new Prophet 6.
I mean, I get it. But we should recognize there is a quality behind that cost.
@@wabbit2099 Plenty of excellent synths out there that don't cost anywhere near $4.2K. Doesn't make them toys.
@@wabbit2099It’s in the same bracket as a Polybrute + Hydrasynth Deluxe 16. Let that sink in.
Tbh I'm surprised it's not more. I mean a Moog One is like $8k and to me this blows that out of the water. This is like a modern CS-80.
@@thestever Except the Moog is a real analog synth. And this is nothing like a CS-80.
The lack of a small screen where we could have been able to check the various settings of each patch (something simple, like the ones you can find on the Prophet 6 and Nord Lead A10) is irritating...
It was never a problem for me as a proud owner of the UDO Audio Super 6 🙏🏻✨🕊✌🏻
@@ResAffolterSoundproductions how can you remember patch' settings? Do you take a photo each time?
perhabs a stupid answher: why is this so important@@manuelgiorgi7274
Its like the ghost of a CS-80 , it sounds good.
Sounds awesome! Serious BladeRunner vibes at 01:47
Swear Ive been searching "super gemini" for the last few months waiting for an update.
Great! ❤
Nothing more beautiful than melodic dissonance..... the moving harmonics...🤤
Lots of creamy late 70s to.mid .80s t.v. & film soundtrack vibes.
Lovely lovely synth
Would love to explore one
Tutch strip looks fun however it dont sound much different then a pitch wheel set to several octaves worth of pitch. I suppose the strip is more accurate then a pitch wheel?
Amazing synth! Loved the arp sequence part but was wanting the low F at 6:00 to come in an octave further down for some real weight. Fantastic playing though!
the sounds at 2:22 blew my mind lol
I hope it has another color scheme available as well as reverb in the final iteration. I know with my Super Six I have always wished for a reverb.
love this!! amazing synth, I'd love to get one, {looking around studio to see where I will squeeze it in!} - sounds fantastic! top class!
Hazel Mills is a child star in THE PARENT TRAP and ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN.
Oh, Robert Rich would have a field day with this one.
It's the Vangelis machine!
I'm pretty sure - assuming there really _is_ going to be another one - I need Hazel Mills to score the next Tron movie.
Killer synth. I wish it wasn’t 44 cms W, otherwise I would buy it. Looking forward a desktop version. I will get a Super 6 which fits better my studio to get the UDO sound :)
Something I have wondered about the Super 6 (and this) is if in "super" mode the envelopes assigned to the left voice can be set differently from those assigned to the right? Also, are there any thoughts/plans to offer the ability for per voice small "offsets"/drift to oscillators, cutoff, EG settings, etc. as on Sequential synths with the vintage knob 3rd Wave with what they call circuit drift.
at 4:23 I felt like this could go into "us and them" - Pink Floyd lovely.
Exactly, could be a slide guitar
I must admit, the first few demos I heard of this were a bit meh, but this demo is making me pay attention 😂👍🏽
Do you get the matching nail polish with it? Nice touch! :)
Nail polish on point! Also the whole video and playing and everything is on point!
if it can do microtonal scales I'm sold officially
Is it just me or does every patch sound a bit detuned? It is a rich sound for sure!
Can play. Easy on the eye.
This has become my favorite synth company, but they are WAY too in love with grey, beige, and other earth tones and this is coming from someone who enjoys grey more than most people. This is a beautiful sounding synth, but it's so damn ugly. Hopefully another color coming eventually so it looks as beautiful as it sounds. Best sounding synth I've heard since..the Super 6.
Tought choice. This or groove synthezis 3rd wave. What are pros and cons on both? or maybe get both ?
I want one. where can i buy it.
This thing totally sounds like a modernized CS-80.
Nothing like a CS-80. More a Jupiter 8.
@@PsychologyAcademia Nothing like a Jupiter 8. Most definitely CS-80. Many people say that.
Both, to be honest.
Isn’t is based on a Jupiter 6? Or this iteration closer to an MKS80?
It is not based on anything. It is influenced by the Roland’s Jupiters and Junos. “Whereas Super 6 took an obvious influence from Roland’s classic Junos and Jupiters, Gemini looks and sounds like an updated take on the CS-80 - particularly in its inclusion of a touch strip.”
Will it ever come in the color scheme of the original super six (pretty please?) ;-)
As ever, you’ll only know if it’s right for you once you’re in front of it, especially at this price point. I’m not being critical. RUclips videos can easily fuel GAS. Great to have boutique manufacturers like UDO though and I hope this succeeds like the Super 6.
Ordered mine in May, and it will probably be launched in 9-12 weeks… the wait is unbearable.
Update: Allegedly, I get mine at November 1st. And since it had been postponed two times (hopefully to make it awesome) I said ‘allegedly’.
Like the other UDO stuff, it sounds beautiful, and this looks like a modern classic: a 21st century Jupiter, as it were. The thing is, with the cost of living crisis, ie. the cost of actually just staying alive, which musicians can afford this stuff now ?
I can't order the super gemini.... Because :
As soon I would get it (in white) it would be available in black 😂
Once you go black...
i would sell a kidney for this synthesizer ^^ (no, i would not! but u all know what i mean). Outstanding machine!
😮
Does it have Poly aftertouch?
Yes
Hello Hazel, I apologise for may comment below. It was meant as a compliment but times have changed - I'm an old dog trying to learn a new language and stumbling along the way. I hope you can forgive me. Eden
It sounds amazing. If these synths are purely digital, couldn’t they be offered for sale as computer VST’s?
Not purely digital this. Has VCFs and VCAs.
Top left blank spot is a deal breaker
I‘m always glad if a synth offers some space for an FX box or my phone.
Well hello Hazel🤤
2:00 echoes of pink floyd
Live in Pompeii. Yes i get that
:)

wonderful, aha, what's the surprise? 🙂
Mhhh… very Vangelic…
Super 6> Gemini
Way too pricey for what it is. I'd pay 2 grand for it, max.
Wonderful Hazel, but the girl is way better than the synthesizer itself
😴
wonderful synth but poor demo, sorry
... I will not have it if it is 4200 USD like the comments are saying. Come on guys ... i know good gear deserves to have its makers live comfortably, but i doubt this has to be 4200. I think youre limiting your clientelle greatly and cash flow too at such a price point. But if its working, good for you! Get back to you when im super rich and 50 years old.
wonderful dear friendI’ve Subscribed!
