  • Trying out different solutions to the Traxxas Spartan Chine Walk problem at full speed.
RCBB 175 ESC & 1600kv 4082 is the perfect combo for this boat, now I just need to keep testing different methods to improve high speed handling.

    AWSOME !!!
I’ve seen full size boats with canards on the front, it would be interesting to have them adjustable on an rc boat. RC hydroplanes have a wing in-between the sponsons in the front, some rc modelers have made them adjustable. I myself have toyed with a similar wing as the sponson support for a small out rigger however that setup made it hard to get on plane.
Your temps suggest you could prop up a little and of course the would give you more speed. I do believe you need a bigger pond for 50+ mph. Keep the onboard videos coming, the front to rear view is always cool to watch when putting the petal to the metal or trigger to the plastic 🤣

Look up active spoiler (most iv seen are for cars.) Possibly add a gyro so u can go as fast as u like but when the nose lifts it adds more spoiler angle with the active spoiler

Does it not add a lot of drag because the boat is not in plane as much?
Maybe add a hydrofoil in the back that puches up the back, and also then the nose down.

You might need to balance the downforce at bow with something mid-ships or, at the stern. The bow wing looks effective but could be 'draggy'. Perhaps a single-element bow wing might work too but, with less drag. Interesting experiments though !

Could you put on rear but change angle si it lifts the transom yet helps push the bow down just my though peace

I'd say ditch the left turn fin and get used to only turning right. You want to minimize anything dragging in the water.

Needs trim tabs adjusted to stop the chinewalk maybe one lower then the other another thiught.

100% correct, I run my right side tab 3mm lower to correct the issue.

If you look up Iron clad rc he tried putting this centrifugal motor from the new rc motorcycle that balances it self in a boat and he couldn't flip it even throwing it with his hand. Not sure if it would help your situation but you might want to check it out. Good video, im surprised you dont have more subscribers 🤷. Anyway you got one more today👍

This is a brand new channel (2.0) my regular channel is H2oMechanic that does quite well, but its different (work) content. @Ironcladrc is why I bought rc boats & started a 2nd channel. I love the community of people that are on RUclips

Have you ever thought maybe the gopro worked because it sits higher up than that metal thing you tried.

I love it! It seems like a Flycolor 150 with a added cap pack. But for the price this is ready to drop in and go you can't beat it. If your ever thinking about running 8S you might want to go With a 200 amp esc (that'll be my next big step) but still testing this setup for now. I love R&D trying new ideas
