Man great video. It amazing that Something as simple as just doing some preventive maintenance could’ve solved all that. Thanks for sharing the knowledge I always get something out of your videos keep them coming.
@@HVACRSurvival true and when they don't, it's often just the cycle pins that unthreaded and fell out, but now days because of "ROHS" the contacts are made of poorer materials and will fail far sooner. (cadmium and other heavy metals are bad for everything)
Good find!! Awkward but sometimes those small details are the 🧠 scratchers.... But at the end we end up getting it up... When you get into reefer its like putting out 🔥...
Good Ol' Leatherman saves the day , once again ! One of my colleagues told me : if you don't carry a Leatherman you're not a real tech 😆 ! By the way , looks like a Wave + isn't it ?
I have no idea without having somebody look all that up. I just fixed the stuff. One of the things we look at or question is did it ever work right and if it did, then it’s most likely OK, if it never worked right that’s when you dig in deeper.
I seldom have that many issues with thermostats sticking, It can happen but the defrost would melt the ice better than what you seen and the customer would be complaining of busted cans from the frozen product. This was being controlled by a basic A19ABC-24C.
@@HVACRSurvival yea was I just curious, I didn't see one and wanted to see what it was set up to. If set too low it would of taken longer to get to that 48 degrees in defrost that we need to clear the frost on the coils. that adjustment to 4x55 minutes took care of it for sure.. Good Video I enjoyed it.
The battery life sucks and because this was a AC & DC amp meter it gets confused with auto amperage readings. Otherwise its more accurate than the FLUKE.
Good idea! I tried that for a while. Normally I can move the product or like here it didn't hurt the drinks because they were in plastic. I did move the food that was in containers.
What is that thing wraped around the coil? It is Rick with sleeves rolled up ready for toil Full of ice and never cleaned PM service never intervened After some rather gymnastic feats it once again removes the heat Then Rick jumps up into his van drives away as fast as he can
How much higher would you mount it? The highest I see them is on a 4x4 treated piece of lumber. Never had many problems with the snow. The worst I have had was high winds in the winter causing low head pressure and had to build a wind shield. Yes I am in northern Ohio
Love the title of the 10:05 chapter!
Surely a problem if you need to defrost that...
Keep this kind of videos coming thanks.
Will do!

Your to kind! Thanks for watching them!
I didnt know they still made those mechanical defrost clocks still...... they have been around for years. Thanks for the vids!
Lol that's a majority of what we use, they work and work. 🤓

Lol I like To think I’m as confident as you sound when I’m troubleshooting in my head.
Believe me I have my problems and issues just like everyone else. Sometimes they're easy, sometimes I get it wrong.
Nice one Rick, great video. THANKS!!
Thanks for watching!
Good 1 Slick Rick ... That Leatherman Wave replaces a lot of tools you don't have to carry ... Lol ... I love mine ...
I think its my 3rd one because they either get lost or they get lost. lol

If you record yourself thinking out loud like I have, you will play it back thinking what in the heck! Why didn't you see this or that..LoL
Awesome video ps I like your Christmas tree in the background
Thanks John 👍👍I appreciate that!
Years ago I had to use a pressure washer on evap coils in Burger Kings 100 % blocked , Not much Preventive maintenance there .
Got to love it ☹️
Good one Rick 👍
Thanks Greg!

Yes Sir! The Wave has been my favorite for years. Nothing comes close for ease of use.

That coils not oversized for the size of that box ??
Or mismatched equipment .. huge evap and a small condenser ?

Just curious was there t-stat in play? what actually controlled the temp or was it just running of the DPC for temp and T.C for defrost

Forgot to ask whats the problem with the Amprobe, I thought this one was very good ?
The battery life sucks and because this was a AC & DC amp meter it gets confused with auto amperage readings. Otherwise its more accurate than the FLUKE.
I carry a blue tarp and cover the food. Then I beak out the water hose.
Good idea! I tried that for a while. Normally I can move the product or like here it didn't hurt the drinks because they were in plastic. I did move the food that was in containers.
What is that thing wraped around the coil?
It is Rick with sleeves rolled up ready for toil
Full of ice and never cleaned
PM service never intervened
After some rather gymnastic feats
it once again removes the heat
Then Rick jumps up into his van
drives away as fast as he can
That's pretty good 👍👍 I must admit I had a chuckle and almost broke my knuckle 😂
So did you swap out the old clock?
Yes Sir! 👍👍
Seeing that it is a normal cooler it doesnt need to pull down that much.
Your bit came out
I got it before I left 👍👍
I hate when that happens lol
tends to happen when youre in your younger years though
I hate that Klein 8 & 1. The flat head bit is too fat and like you said, it’s too bulky to fit in tight spots.
No research was done.
Pretty sure your up there in the snow country, why is that equipment on the ground?

@@HVACRSurvival Better on the ground than on the roof, eh? Lived in Fairborn when I was a kid, dad was in Air Force.
