    Man great video. It amazing that Something as simple as just doing some preventive maintenance could’ve solved all that. Thanks for sharing the knowledge I always get something out of your videos keep them coming.

      @@HVACRSurvival true and when they don't, it's often just the cycle pins that unthreaded and fell out, but now days because of "ROHS" the contacts are made of poorer materials and will fail far sooner. (cadmium and other heavy metals are bad for everything)

    That coils not oversized for the size of that box ??
    Or mismatched equipment .. huge evap and a small condenser ?

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  3 месяца назад

      I have no idea without having somebody look all that up. I just fixed the stuff. One of the things we look at or question is did it ever work right and if it did, then it’s most likely OK, if it never worked right that’s when you dig in deeper.

  • @refrigerationconfidential4376

    Just curious was there t-stat in play? what actually controlled the temp or was it just running of the DPC for temp and T.C for defrost

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 года назад +2

      I seldom have that many issues with thermostats sticking, It can happen but the defrost would melt the ice better than what you seen and the customer would be complaining of busted cans from the frozen product. This was being controlled by a basic A19ABC-24C.

    • @refrigerationconfidential4376
      @refrigerationconfidential4376 4 года назад +2

      @@HVACRSurvival yea was I just curious, I didn't see one and wanted to see what it was set up to. If set too low it would of taken longer to get to that 48 degrees in defrost that we need to clear the frost on the coils. that adjustment to 4x55 minutes took care of it for sure.. Good Video I enjoyed it.

    Forgot to ask whats the problem with the Amprobe, I thought this one was very good ?

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 года назад +2

      The battery life sucks and because this was a AC & DC amp meter it gets confused with auto amperage readings. Otherwise its more accurate than the FLUKE.

      Good idea! I tried that for a while. Normally I can move the product or like here it didn't hurt the drinks because they were in plastic. I did move the food that was in containers.

    What is that thing wraped around the coil?
    It is Rick with sleeves rolled up ready for toil
    Full of ice and never cleaned
    PM service never intervened
    After some rather gymnastic feats
    it once again removes the heat
    Then Rick jumps up into his van
    drives away as fast as he can

    Pretty sure your up there in the snow country, why is that equipment on the ground?

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 года назад

      How much higher would you mount it? The highest I see them is on a 4x4 treated piece of lumber. Never had many problems with the snow. The worst I have had was high winds in the winter causing low head pressure and had to build a wind shield. Yes I am in northern Ohio
