    Did a repair on an ice o matic. Boss has been using 449 for everything now. Told me to put in 449, ya it did not work right at all. Had to go back in with 404

    RSG (master bilt & norlake) and kolpack have those dual speed ECM fan motors...box reaches temp and the evap fans run half speed until it turns the compressor back on....they use a 3 wire johnson controls thermostat.

    can you elaborate a little bit on the tell a system is overcharged by your head pressure during a pump down thing? good charge it falls a little, it rises its overcharged?

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  2 года назад +2

      Over charge head psi will sky rocket 🚀 on pump down.
      Now it will rise a little at first then start to fall as system pumps down if charge is ok.

    • @NorCal-refrigeration

      The 448 worked but it was flooding back and there’s no adjustment on those txv’s. Also the charger is so small in ice machines the 404a is the way to go.

      @@NorCal-refrigeration The ones I got are from around 2-3 years ago, they had small scroll compressors in them, I think LG, not sure. They are pretty quiet though. One of them I got the remote condensor for, and put that on the roof. That location they have really hard water, and I didn't want to use a water cooled unit. Was pretty easy to run a 20ft precharged lineset up to the roof.

    I've done that with the flare nut 🙈🤣 Had to cut it in half with the grinder as was on outlet and suspected frost would crush the pipe and cause issues.
    Those condenser fans stopped a bit quick, tight bearings?

    If you did a pump down and the system is over charged what would your high side pressure look like?

    • @pizzapale
      @pizzapale 2 года назад +1

      Your head pressure will go up instead of falling, basically the receiver is over full and theres no where else for the refrigerant to go so it builds up pressure.
