Gábor Tarkövi, trumpet.
Kaohsiung City Wind Ensemble.
Wang Chan, conductor.
Live recording at the "National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts", Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, 2012.
Man that gliss in the beginning!
Brandon Ridenour does it soooo much better
@@benjaminpiela5210 Just appreciate, that he is doing at on a rotary B flat trumpet, while Ridenour plays it with a piston picc...
Andreas don’t know what that means, but I agree
How do you even do that with trumpet?
I made a Watch Msuic please subscribe for more half valve it you can hear thats what he did
It would be nice if the music was the same as what he is playing
@Aiden Keller no, he changes it multiple times by playing different rhythms or different octaves etc.
Simon Lutgens f# is the lowest note on Bb trumpet. either you have a bad range or your trumpet is bad
@@simonlutgens you mean ledger lines?
@Aiden Keller its not like in the first 2 measures he didnt play those notes as triplets but as duplets
@@simonlutgens ok
To everyone saying the sheet music doesn't line up the recordings:
1. Tarkoevi is kinda known for fiddling with rhythms and melodies improvisationally
2. YT compiler for this channel gets the sheet music pdfs manually, and i wouldn't blame them for not cross-referencing every single arrangement to get the exact one used
ngl tho 2:29 lip trill kinda sucked balls
Thank youu! I was wondering.
Wonder what that note at the end was supposed to be
Simon Phillips that’d be crazy
Simon Phillips well doesn’t mean it’s any less crazy 😂 they’re just great players
Colin Nolan yeah the player was going for a double G but his “chops” are toast by the end of this piece. Yes there are multiple trumpet players (including myself) who could play thst note, but still we could all get a bit tired.
I would guess a high C
With multiple reasons this seems like Gabor sight-reading 😅
3:42
This isn't the same music as what is being played
this music is the same he is just swapping to piccolo trumpet at some sections and it is not signified
1st page 3rd line, 2nd half should be a Fifth higher for all notes...
DocsDota yeah, f f
that note after the first gliss is amazing
magyarok? gratulálok Tarkövi Gábor!
Genuine question - how does the performer do the gliss at the beginning?
Half valve
Bravo! That was outstanding trumpet playing!

Pessimo
Clarinets version is better
Costlyplanet shhhhhh just appreciate the effort put into this :$
Shhhhhh let it be , we don’t complain when they make carnival of Vince for trumpet
Who asked
and wayyyy easier on a clari, your point?
Hey were not gonna give this clarinet masterpiece to a lousy trumpet
I mean he's only the principal trumpet in the Berlin Phil.
Yes, this guys performance was bad, but trumpeter Dokshitzer played this masterpiece very beautiful
@@surprisetv7106 dude he's the principal trumpet of Berlin Phil I wanna hear you play it better
if it was bad
As a trumpet player the gliss by itself in the beginning is enough to give a lot of players migraines to play it that well. This is super challenging in trumpet, much harder than clari. Cut this guy slack
