- Hello,
Welcome to my fourth installment to my Headphone Repair series. In this video I show how to fix the headphone wire itself. A lot of time a short can occur in the wire (instead of at the plug like I show in my other Headphone videos). Also, headphones wires can get cut or damaged very easily. This video shows you a simple way to make these types of repair.
To purchase an inexpensive wire stripper and electrical tape, check out my Amazon Store.

Who here still can't fix their earphones?😩
Here after my cat chew my recently bought earphone.. Had it for like 1 hour, just went to the kitchen, when I came back, it was too late
i watch it with my broken earphone XD
Man the amount of money I burned away for headphones that sometimes would even survive a couple of months! I saved some of my broken headphones so one day I could repair them, and now I know how. Thanks man, you've got +1 subscriber, going to check out the rest of your videos.
This was a big help. had my headphones working again in minutes. Thanks a million dude. I tinkered with them a bit longer afterward but that was to tape the wires and make sure they worked continuously and consistently. Again, thank you for the helpful info.
Richs you're the MAN! I spent 3 hours working on my broken headphones. Failed 4 times and succeeded the 5th time! So satisfying and so proud of myself lol. I failed before because I didn't burn the copper wire (you mentioned to do so in some other video but not this one). 2. Be careful with the wire's length. Say, after getting rid of the rubber, with 5 cm of the red wire, only burn the first 2 cm and leaving 3 cm so that when you tape the two red wires together, the exposed and burned wires don't get contacted with other wires.
Thank you so much for the video omg. It took me about an hour tryna fix my sony earphones that was bitten some time back, and now thanks to you it actually works. You forgot to mention that we need to burn the copper wire as well but its okay i figured it out. Was so proud and happy when i was done lmao man you just saved me 80 bucks thanks again
So, question. If the headphones won't produce sound unless i tilt the wire to a VERY specific position, this will work, right?
I can't believe it, it worked!
Thank you! I just fixed mine because of this video, still helping even in 2022! You're a legend sir
Ok so at first, this did not work. I assumed that my headphones were dead and decided to operate on them. I burnt the ground wire as well, in the video you only did the red one. Now they work! Its amazing thanks for the video and I hope this comment helps out some other people too!
When joining in line pairs its always wise to stagger the joints then cover them with shrink tube. A touch of solder would be nice. If pull strength is an issue, put a piece of wire with it before shrink tubing.
12 years after dropping this video and it's still helpful. Thank you
