I am entered into the TR250 in April 2023, royally fucked it up last year so really want to get it done next year! I actually like the look of this event too!
Awesome!! I'm not a proper runner, I jut try and beat the cut offs, but I've done the Lakeland 100 miler and a few 100 km ultras. Am doing the Swiss Peaks 360 km in September, it's only 200 miles but it has 24,000 m of vertical!! Love watching videos like this and see how others push themselves past their limits, great inspiration, thanks!!
What Craig hasn't said is that when people came to show their support, he stopped to talk and thank everyone which inevitably dragged things out and prolonged the pain. I have had the privilege of watching Craig get someone through an endurance event and then see him participating in this event. Commando: Per Mare, Per Terram.
Unbelievable achievement Craig. Having had an personal nightmare over the last 2 years and many a time thought of giving up. Watching you makes me want to continue battling on. We all need to make the most out of this life we have been given .
Great watch, Craig. That brought it all back. You're a genuine tough guy, and it was an honour for me to share some of the experience with you. Thank you for the kind words. And keep making these brilliant films.
Wow, great stuff Craig, had no doubt you'd get through that and thanks for sharing the journey and problem solving, really great to watch. Loved it when you said, 'just get through these middle 100miles' haha, only a crazy ultra runner could say that. Hope you and your wife are recovering well.
A brutally honest, no bullshit, account of how to complete an incredibly difficult and extreme distance race. Your approach to the race could be applied to almost any challenge in life and pull it off as successfully. I've watched a few of your videos but this is by far the most inspirational. As a fellow ex mil guy I get the whole discipline and mental strength ethos but it doesn't hurt to be reminded from time to time. I'll be taking a lot of this with me on my own races and challenges over the next 12 months. Brilliant work 🙌🏼👊🏼💥. As for aspirations: I have been running properly, i.e. I have a plan in place and a coach, for about 6 weeks - yet I have entered the Dragon's Back Race for 2023! If you are going to be a bear... 🐻
Wow, absolute incredible and mind blown. Feeling very inspired after watching this. Knowing what you went through, its true what you say. Once your legs give up ,Your head takes over, then once your head gives up, your heart takes over. That will be a Motto I will carry with me in all future races. Huge Kudos mate.
It feels slightly embarrassing to even leave a comment on a video like this!! What I mean is, how do you come up with the words of how incredible something like that is in just a few sentences?! All I will say is that your very inspiring and a true testament of how important the mind can be. Yes it makes me want to sign up but I think perhaps theres a few races I need to do first, like perhaps a 24 hour event before taking on this beast! A great video too btw. Well worth the wait. Thanks Craig.
Absolute legend!!! What a mind set to have. Loved every second of this video especially toad watch!!! 🤣 A massive well done it now makes my 44 mile ultra in December like a park run on a Saturday. 🤣👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻🤙
Unbelievable and hat off to you. Very inspiring as I'm sat here with an achilles injury not run for 6 weeks and thinking I won't be ready for the M2L Ultra next April. You've got inside my head and made me confident I'll be fine - well done Craig you are inspirational 👏
That was epic! Well done! Couple of gear tips, for your next ultra adventure: Ininji Toe Socks (for avoiding blisters). Altra Olympus 5 (best cushioning) or Altra Mont Blanc BOA (with good cushioning). Both shaped like a real foot, so there's plenty of room for toes.
Amazing! Continue on your path and you will succeed with your RUclips channel! You deserve many subscribers because your content is such inspiring and also emotional.
Wow what a guy! Your mental strength is amazing! Getting through this shows how we can talk ourselves in and out of things! And for you to get to the end SECOND finisher, WOW! What an achievement! Pure grit and determination! Great video, thanks for showing this! 🙌
This is amazing! Running my first marathon on Sunday. This is so inspirational, you are a testament to the power of mindset. Wow, you are truly unique. ❤ 🎉😁
Fantastic video, and an amazing effort. I spent time looking for those frogs, didn’t want to step on any!! Looking forward to watching you go further 😳
I had to bow out of a 12hr ultra in August because I'd started to suffer from Acid Reflux (Gerd) and had the hardest time breathing without coughing all day, and all night. I couldn't sleep. And it wasn't Covid but i'd been testing and worrying and retesting all the time. It was a nightmare. But, I'm on the mend, have been eating better and using antacids etc. I'm signed up for next year's race so that's set and YOU my friend have set an amazing example! Thank you! *I'm a big dude and wear New Balance Fresh Foam running shoes (trainers) and i'm injury and blister free. -just a thought.
your an amazing man! everything you said about your hard times being training for future events like this one really hit home for me. this is a great video. you have a great brother to stick by you also in the event and more im sure! well done team craig!
Cracking effort Royal 👍🏻💪🏼. I’m planning a 142 miler for charity and this is double the distance I’ve previously done. I literally have no idea how I’ll do!!

Great race review and agree entirely about mind set. Yes you need to prepare and have a plan but you never know what the body will do in long distance. There isn’t any guarantee. That is when the mind has to step up. Awesome 👏. I carry a pic of my mom during long races rest her soul with the word Believe! She fought cancer with that mind set. She lost in the end but without that belief she would of been gone years before. One word is all we need. Believe!
Thanks for posting such great videos, Craig. You're a real inspiration and I'm hoping to have the mental strength you possess, when the time comes in my upcoming event. Hope we can run together some day, too. Cheers!
Really enjoyed this video, great achievement 👏, made up for you. I've done 2 100 mile races, which I've completed but suffered alot with sore feet, does the K tape actually work on protecting the feet?? I'm doing the Arc of Attrition in January and I think the key for me completing it is finding the solution to protecting the feet. Good luck in future adventures
The K Tape works to protect against friction. is easier to put on and seems to last much longer than sports strapping tape. I find myself moving almost completely to K-Tape. Try it out 👍
@@CraigWilliamsUltra I actually prepared your race package but was gone by the time you started running... It was so nice to be there. Thank you for sharing... 100% motivation! Next crazy adventure?????
@@jackycamos5528 amazing. Thanks for your efforts. I loved my little race pack 💪 I have retired now. Just got the UK Berkeley Marathons next weekend, the desert ultra in Namibia (Nov), Spine Challenger (Jan) then the Tunnel Ultra!
About your feet: I am just now getting into minimalist/ barefoot shoes (no drop between back and front, wider toe box, flexible, and less to almost no cushion) and slowly transitioning to run mostly in them and improve my front/ midfoot running. I feel like for some people they can really be the key to proper foot health. I never tan this far yet so I can’t really say anything about blisters in normal vs barefoot shoes but it could be interesting. Even though in this case with the terrain it might actually not have been a great option.
