@Benny Dover in the past 10 years I have called all my moose into camp. At some point I should start bringing my bow. This particular moose was called in for my buddy who had never taken a 60 inch bull and was pleasantly surprised with this 71 inch bull. He was the CEO of WhisperTek at the time and was showcasing his silencer therefore resulting in the shots taken. Thank you for your comment.

How do you get all the meat back to camp? Do you process most of it or just take what you want and leave the rest for animals to eat? You guys are awesome bush pilots.
Great question! Alaska required ALL editable meat to be brought back to camp with meat naturally attached on the bone, no processing. Basically we break apart the moose into quarters (meat on bone) and backpack them back to camp. Once in camp we hang the meat or place them on logs close to the river where it's the coolest and prepare them to be flown out with us. One way we make this packing easier is with our new meat bags with handles allowing two people to lift the same bag and maneuver it much easier. Hope this helps. T

I don't really understand why you need to end the life of a beautiful Moose , so you can have his antlers . Sad life , sad ending . How many bullets to kill at 12:03 ?
In Alaska we hunt moose to feed our families just like most folks buy beef at the store. Be harvesting the "OLD" bulls this perpetuates the species allowing the bulls to pass on their genes before we harvest them. Along with providing for our families I love to capture the moments on videos to share for a lifetime. Unlike "meat only hunters" we have the meat butchered for our table fare and then have the giant antlers taxidermy professionally to hang in our homes. I go another step further to produce these filmes to share my experiences with everyone for training or maybe to live somehow vicariously through our blessed hunts. Thanks for sharing your concerns and allowing me to explain. Respectfully Troy
Nice hunt, but the shooter towards the 33 min mark should have hit that Moose struggling in the water again right away. A moment to us is an eternity to a wounded and struggling animal. He should have put it out of its misery right away rather than strutting around pumping his chest.
Thank you for pointing this out and to answer your question.. I did shoot the moose a second time and put it out of it's misery, problem is people don't want to see extra shots especially on networks where it's forbidden. I know I don't... As for "pumping my chest" I was ecstatic to have harvested the biggest giant moose of my life at that time, not to mention called it from 4 miles away... I will NOT apologize for hunting and putting food on the table for my family AND spending thousands of dollars preserving that beautiful moose for the rest of my lifetime...
joe bata I have had moose jump up eyes wide open just feet away. You can poke an animal without him moving but if there is any life left when you touch their eye it will flicker. The truth of the matter is, my father taught me to do it that way. 😜.
Must be Sweet to have a healthy moose population and not have to win the lottery for a hunt like we have here in Ontario! The moose have and continue to be sooo mismanaged I see them extinct as a hunting species within 20 years! Too many Black bears mostly and wolves but the bear is the worst culprit next to mismanagement!
Trace Williams thank you for your comment and understanding mismanagement is critical to change. We too have areas of the same and do our best to call people out. Over all Alaska does a great job and honestly keeping foreign states AND federal government out of Alaska management is crucial.
Hey....did you bother to read the comments ?? If you did, you wouldn't of typed an ignorant response. They used a plane the bring out the 1400lbs of meat in multiple trips. The more you know.....
enjoyed video despite too much talking about things not specifically related to the hunt and that [expletive deleted] awful telephone on hold type background music. People watching this video are into nature-- not people yammering and certianly not music they get too much of in the city!
Thank you for your comment it helps with other productions we put out. As the producer and hunter of the publication I pick music that relates to how I felt out in the field on this hunt and the music could very well be outdated and perceived not good for some folks. Our hunts are not scripted and are filmed "as it happens", what you basically see is three friends have fun on a super fun moose hunt. Happy hunting Troy
🙄 Never achieved by who? Read the hunting accomplishments of Jack Atcheson! His guiding service has put 5 of the Top 10 moose into the record books and taken many 70"+ moose! So, speak for yourself! Your statement is incorrect! 🤪
I personally Have over ten myself that qualify for the books however I don’t care to put anything into the “record books”. AND I have over 30 moose over 60” in my lifetime, consecutively… The statement is “two 70” bulls” on one hunt…. I will speak for myself!
🤠 Congratulations! However, Jack could have probably made the video of 2 over 80", since 5 of the top 10 all times are from his guiding service, including the #1 all time! So, I guess you still have something to "shoot" for? Since he never got that bull that was between 96" and 100" wide that he tells about in his book, mabey you can? Just so you don't think that I was trying to be a jerk, but point out the obvious, here is what I'll do - I'll tell you right where he saw him, when he was hunting! 😯 Now all you have to do is buy his book, because he tells you where he was hunting! 😳 That is Jack Atcheson of Butte, Montana! Also, the town made famous by "Evil Kenevel" - "Butte America"! 🗽 Jack passed away last year, but his sons still run the guiding service! I just wanted to give him his props because he was "one hell of a guy" and a "World Renowned Hunter" on every continent, for many species! As I matter of fact, the last time we talked was at a gun show, at Bob Munden's Table - the World's Fastest Gun (also from Butte, Montana)! I think moose hunting did come up in the conversation, even though I was pointing out some "errors" in his book regarding some record book mule deer he had discussed (Specifically, the reported spreads of the Zimlack bucks - a father/son pair also from Butte who both shot the state record non-typical record bucks in back to back years - both over 40" wide in two places where I hunt)! Just me being me - I guess I just can't shut my mouth? Sorry! Anyway, Happy Hunting! 😜
CaribouAu thank you for your input. Only one tenth of one percent of Alaska is accessible by road so the airplane is the “vehicle “ needed to get out into Alaska’s remote hunting grounds. I was flying to our favorite remote fishing area when I found this hunting location. As the movie clearly shows we called these moose within 150 yards from camp with two only 30 yards from the tent and that isn’t easy. Unlike road hunting with vehicles or ATV.s or Boat’s a person cannot hunt the same day airborne therefore it’s certainly is not as easy as “ordering “ from a catalog. .
It would be so nice to see a hunter have a change of heart and stop getting their manhood from killing animals ....and BTW when you take away those “monster bulls” you are taking the best genetic specimens out of the population...is that good for their long term well being?
If you eat any kind of meat yourself you too are killing animals... Hunters don't spend months preparing for their hunt not to mention all the money involved to be successful to "have a change of heart"... Hunters LOVE TO HUNT it's part of their DNA... In response to genetics & specimens: The department of Alaska fish and game determines harvesting numbers with the upmost care to keeping the "genetics" in the field year after year. By the time I harvest a giant old bull he has already spread his genetics for many years. I can never understand why someone who doesn't love hunting would be trolling around hunting pages?
Ron the area we hunted in this video had antler restrictions in place by fish and game such as a minimum of 50 inches wide rack and no less than 4 browtiens on at least one side. Typically a 60" bull normally has 200lbs more meat over a smaller bull say in the 40" range. The moose in this area die of old age. Thanks for your comment Troy
If we wanted a “one shot drop” we easily could have shot the bull in the next, however risky that close to the river you Dont see or the bog close by. One in the boiler first then one shot drop is how it's done in “true wilderness”...

How many yards was the second moose when shot could not have been 30 yards
It was around that yardage and a joy to experience.
What suppressor was on the first Proof Research barreled rifle? Caliber?
It was a prototype WhisperTek Suppressor no longer offered.
Why would you shoot the 2nd and 3rd shot ??
blaine stewart thank you for asking. Even though the first shot was a kill shot it’s just humane to not let any animal suffer longer than necessary.
What rifle and caliber do you use for this hunt?
We used a 308 Proof Research Tach II rifle on all three Moose crowned with a Leupold scope.
How can you hit 3vitals when he’s facing away from the shooter
That comment came from by my buddy he got a bit excited, I didn't have the heart to tell him he missed the last shot.. Great observation by the way.

Proof Research Tach II, 308 , 180 grn.

What r the rules on using an airplane to locate moose
Can’t fly and hunt the same day
Pretty Much!
I thought spotting game from the plane and then hunting it was illegal ?????
You are correct, this video talks about and clearly states that.
You cannot hunt same day airborne and we support that law 100%.
I'm a hunter but not sure I see any difference between your seeing an animal from the car analogy and using your plane to scout. I understand you can't hunt the same day you fly but but your using the plane to find them.

Respectfully
Troy
Thats what you call hunting. Great video. Beautiful animals. That looks like a really nice rifle. Is that a 308?
@Orange Roughy so what do you call hunting these fellas went out for a week and hunted walked miles and camped nights and drug these things
It was a 308 Tach II
Just wow
I will NOT apologize for hunting and putting food on the table for my family AND spending thousands of dollars preserving that beautiful moose for the rest of my lifetime...
why do hunters poke the animal with their gun look at its eyes if it is open it is dead
joe bata I have had moose jump up eyes wide open just feet away.
If you guys are TROPHY hunting, and don't need the food, you all should go to JAIL.
Hey....did you bother to read the comments ??
If you did, you wouldn't of typed an ignorant response.
They used a plane the bring out the 1400lbs of meat in multiple trips.
The more you know.....
Stfu
Thank you for your response it is greatly appreciated...
Try using a sled and comealong for hauling meat. Your back will thank you.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us it's much appreciated.
enjoyed video despite too much talking about things not specifically related to the hunt and that [expletive deleted] awful telephone on hold type background music.
Happy hunting

🙄 Never achieved by who? Read the hunting accomplishments of Jack Atcheson! His guiding service has put 5 of the Top 10 moose into the record books and taken many 70"+ moose! So, speak for yourself! Your statement is incorrect! 🤪
I personally Have over ten myself that qualify for the books however I don’t care to put anything into the “record books”. AND I have over 30 moose over 60” in my lifetime, consecutively…
The statement is “two 70” bulls” on one hunt….
Pursuing game with not knowing where they are is hunting, flying around for hours looking for them is like flipping through a catalog
Of course, all that matters is the size of the antlers.
Thanks for your comment

At least you guys didn’t run into a 2 headed tellie they are known to take kills and burn down forests
Gong show-3 shots at 150 yards? Not worth celebrating boys-one shot drop is the goal.
If we wanted a “one shot drop” we easily could have shot the bull in the next, however risky that close to the river you Dont see or the bog close by.
One in the boiler first then one shot drop is how it's done in “true wilderness”...
Think you need more gun! Or at least more cartridge.
Very marginal lethality with that suppressor at that range>
MeatSpear we normally recommend using a 300 Win Mag however you can see this 308 did the job. I have seen 7MM have trouble dropping a moose.
Water nap🥸
why do all these hunting channels have such shitty video quality? wtf is so hard about 1080p60? its been a standard for YEARS
Did you notice the video was FREE! I filmed the video in 1080, 16;9 format I just didn't download it for that...
Did I mention the video was FREE!
Kissing the barrel of your gun after a shot is stupid af.
My friend was only trying to show how cold the silencer was after three shots. He was the founder of WhisperTeck promoting his own brand of silencers.
I would watch more of these but tierd of them just trying to sell stuff so I skip half the crap
Since the videos are FREE RUclips pays the participants to allow them to offer ads. Did you not realize the videos are FREE????
@@60InchClub I am talking about ads in the video not the ones utube puts in
