I'm sitting way over in Africa and my heart was thumping. Right now on the eve of my 60th year I am hunting with a slingshot , cast my own lead ammo and I am having fun. Can't wait for my son to return from Wisconsin with an old Bear Super Grizzly I was gifted by an old hunting client from Texas. After many years of guiding I need to put in time hunting for my own pleasure. If I can master the bow skills , I aim to treat myself to some fun. Thanks Clay. Awesome video.
Really? 4000 views in 2 hrs but only 400 likes?? Yall just watching to talk shit or because your jealous?? Why not like the video?? Clay Hayes thank you for all your content. Ive been following you for about 7 or 8 years now and you have taught so many so much. Thank You for what all you've done for archery. I think its about time you do a show with Uncle Ted
Jealousy always brings out the toxic miserable humans. They have to project their own self hatred onto others instead of owning their issues and working on them. Be honest with yourself people cus most of the time, you’re the problem in your own life. Taking accountability is what cool people do.
Clay, I love all your videos. But this Alaska series is by far my favorite. I hope there’s more, and I hope you and Chevie can hunt again next year. Thanks for sharing this, had me on the edge of my seat. Bow hunting is so fun, I got my first archery animal this year in north west Alberta , nice mature bull elk. Cheers man
I would be in absolute heaven fellas!!! I envy the both of you for being able to have those experiences!! I'm sure none of it came easy. Those were some great hunts.
Awesome video Clay. And Chevie enjoined it a lot. That river crossing with no boots or pants man that is something else. 38F is about 3C. Water that cold and you did it twice. Couple of time in the army when I had to bathe with cold water you feel like your testicles get into your stomach. Kudos to you really.
You'd have been drawing as it turned and had it down Clay... that's just experience... Chevie will get there... I'd have been looking for escape routes. Those things are huge. Great trip up there... thanks for the footage
Beyond excellent, my friend. What you have given other hunters, including me, is a series of experiences of inestimable value. Thank you, Clay. I can't resist asking when you're going to tell Liz that it's time to move to Alaska. Hah. All the best, Chris (in Maine)
hope to see another hunting/camping video on the yellow river in florida! love to see our local river on video! loved the last yellow river vid you did
Great footage! I know exactly what he's talking about. I don't enjoy hunting much anymore. I like guiding but I'm not good enough to have people pay me. I dislocated my shoulder a decade ago. I haven't been able to bow hunt since. My joy of hunting left when my ability to bow hunt left.
@@J0SH881 Mostly just pain....lol. I had a horse fall on me while roping. A calf took out his front legs. The bow hunting is a great loss, for certain, but I guess I'm fortunate to be alive.
That was simply excellent! Well orchestrated, filmed & edited! Takes a bit to get the blood pumping at my age (75+),but ya'll did it! Got a question: Noticed Chevy getting brush twixt the string and limbs on his bow - back in the 60's (?), we used "brush buttons" to solve that problem - have you tried them? If so, opinion? Again, excellent hunt - thankee for sharing... Jim Stewart
Maaaan, I am so anvious of you, I just want to grab the bow, arrows and go in the wood, just to go, not even to kill some animal, btw what is the best season for hunting in your opinnion, and which season is your favourite?
Clay, huge respect for this video! Clay, could you tell about your plan if that moose is looking for revenge? Because I heard a lot of stories how people and dogs were seriously damaged or even got killed by an injured moose, and I don’t know what’s the best way to survive the situation when a moose goes really angry about your arrows 😮
I just love traditional bows I love bows I can't stand training wheels on my bow I know they're called compounds but I call them training wheels no offense to anybody out there that does like compounds it's my personal preference
Well that was exciting, though not as exciting as it must have been for you guys. When I saw the thumbnail I was wondering how the hell you got that high. I’ve never hunted like that, but the times I’ve seen people do it, it was mostly a second guy calling from well behind, just like you guys did.
Hey clay awesome video man great stuff , I just have a quick question: I have a 62" hickory bow and my goal is to hit 28" draw , is that advisable? Thank you so mych❤
Awkward, I got pokey sticks, no bang-bang! Man up, Clay is gonna walk your legs clean off! Look at the bright side, bow is lighter than boom stick.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@phatmatt_outdoors8149 you make no sense. Yes, Clay is a renowned bow hunter. He is also a maker of very fine hand hewn recurves and longbows. He even makes his own arrows, hell, he’s almost as good a shot with a bow as I am…🙄
So probably it’s not that bad that this giant didn’t get an arrow cause moose is a very dangerous animal especially injured. I can’t even imagine myself pulling a string and giving a shot to this huge animal being that damn close to him and knowing that’s gonna be a child’s play for him to kill me on a spot 😅
Did you explain why you want to be loud when moose hunting? I've been around dozens in my life, but that's been in the Rocky's, so they've always been used to seeing humans.
Subject: Concern for Wildlife and Ethical Choices Hi , I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to reach out and share my concerns regarding the treatment of wild animals. I’ve noticed that many animals have been harmed and even killed, which is deeply troubling, especially when it comes to preserving our natural wildlife. These creatures play a vital role in our ecosystem, and I believe it's important to protect them. I hope you can consider more ethical choices that align with preserving wildlife and respecting nature. Every action counts when it comes to protecting the world we all share.
