Great fun to watch your builds John. I most enjoy the transition from rough to smooth, when the hull is sanded and then varnished. They totally change their personality when that happens. Cheers.
Thank you very much Bob!!! In matter of fact, right now i am sanding the entire hull and i am also making a video. I believe that this one is going to be public next Saturday and the surface will be as smooth as silk :)
@@boblangenberg7859 Believe me he is running all day, the house has a big yard around it so Wolf and Buddy are playing outside all the time. Only when i get into my workshop he wants to be with me :)
Super john je suis entrain de construire un bateau bon je suis sûr qu’il va pas être comme se lui que tu es entrain de faire mais je vais essayer tu m’as donné l’inspiration merci bonne continuation
Hi John, you have talked about companies giving you spare planks in the box of the models, and I am wondering how much is usually left over after you finish the decks and hull? I love your videos so much, and I have learned a lot about building models. Thank you for taking time to teach us.
Hi! Always you have more planks in the box that the planks that you need, i have never needed more that the planks that the company gives. For instance, if you need 100 planks for the hull then the box has inside 115. :)
I bought a book on model ship building because i wanted to try to build one. I did not buy a kit because of the planking! the book showed a hull like yours BUT every plank was shaped and tapered, nothing like the way you have used!
I haven't read a book like that so i cannot tell you if what is written is correct or not. What i can tell is that there are a lot of ways to do things, i am showing here one way and i am trying to do it as simple as i can so everyone can understand it. :)
Thank you Michael. Yes the eye can deceive you but with your fingertips you can feel everything, especially when you have saw dust all over the surface.
Nice job John, I like that finger bending you do how long do you soak the wood to make it twist so easily? Still working on fine tuning my cheap little plan which will make life simpler....lol Great video my friend.
Thank you very much my friend!!! I soak them just a few second, maybe half a minute but i do that 2-3 times and i get the result you have seen :) I will call you tomorrow the usual hour :)
Hi John, WOW !!! That last piece you placed on the keel almost disappeared. Fantastic craftsmanship

Very nice work, John...noticed that you used your hand to feel for smoothness on the keel.
