avg temps are not really much use due to the nature of averages, peak and minimum tests seem to make more sense as they represent the highest and lowest. It also represents "real world" usage as cinebench replicates how a desktop PC would render a project with varying types of asset.
While getting a min and max can be a good thing it’s unpredictable, same as getting an average temp when the testing is not consistent, when we do CPU testing we do measure the average and the Max temp. While encoding large 4K videos and other projects like we do, the CPU can be running at 100% with no dips for 2+ hours. Most people have CPU fans set to auto, if that’s the case then using cinebench will cause the fan speed to fluctuate, event though fans can react fast they are always react to the temperature, with the CPU usage dropping this cause the CPU temp to go up and down quickly, and can also cause the speed of the fan to adjust as well, this then causes temperature spikes. This is more noticeable on slower computers as it takes longer to load the next test.
Actually, cinebench is a totally valid tool to see the temperatures. The reason being simple. I don't use my cpu at 100% of usage 24/7. So it going to 100% usage and then dropping slightly, its a fine test by me. I could let a 10 hours render running on the cpu, but that is just not the use case for my gaming pc. So what's the point in doing that test?
If you are doing a comparison between two different CPUs, it's hard to do when the testing is inconsistent, you can still use it as a ballpark to see if it would overheat. you can run the same test in the same environment a number of times in cinebench and get a different result each time. that's like testing the max speed in a car but drivingit on a different road each time.
I don’t think any game is going to run 100% for 30 minutes either right? It should still give me a good indication of my cooler’s performance I would think.
It's really negligible. The drop is so quick that the temp doesn't have enough of a drop. What matters is the 'high temp' during the entire run of the test.
If someone could answer my question I would be grateful. I have run r23 and 2024 versions and my results are average but the image that renders appears to render way slower than any I have seen on videos online. Is that normal?
Depends on your CPU, the faster it is the faster it will render. Some reviewers will also speed up video and other trickery so people don’t have to watch for so long
@@TechforTechs thanks for replying. I did some adjustments and turns out on 2024 the images just renders a lot slower than r23. My results are fine, 19k for multi core is fine by me.
i am using boinc computing program when need to figure out temps i just choosed use 100% processor time opened HW info and it goes something about 20-30 mins and it was consistent 100% cpu usage all the time
Hi, when I start the test the cpu immediately throttling, the fans are set up to max and the temperature hits 100C. The test runs for 10 minutes and the cpu clock speed is 3GHz(the cpu max frequency is 5GHz). Also Intel XTU shows power limit throttling, the cpu is idle, and power limit and current/edp throttling while gaming. Do you think these problems can be fixed with replacing the motherboard, the laptop is under warranty. Thanks!
Thanks, Phil. 👍 I've never used Cinebench before, but (of course) I've seen everyone & their uncle testing with it on RUclips. I was actually considering giving it a try after I finish my new build - but not now, thanks to thanks to your timely video! 🤗 I'll take a look around for an alternative. 🤔
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not awful but it’s not accurate. Its like putting you foot it hot water, you know it’s hot but you won’t be able to get the exact temperature. The pass mark Burnintest has a free trial, that will give you a better result.
CPU's should be able to run for hours even days at 100% load if cooler properly, a lot of rendering jobs when making videos can take hours and days with the CPU running flat out.@@officialyashvirgaming

Is Cinebench 2024 a better Benchmark than R23? (for CPU)

it will If the CPU meets the power of the GPU at the limit.
@@Fb-pl7zqHow likely is that in the majority of PC consumers?
@Fb-pl7zq i7 1300k rtx4070tiSuper 😂 cpu 40% at 50° and gpu 100% at 60° comstant on any AAA game

Thank you، I have a question when I started testing multi-core CPU in Cinebench، my laptop RAM (16g) was filled up very quickly، is this normal؟
These benchmarks cause the cpu to be TEMP throttled. I always use water cooling.
No wonder my cpu was number 1 on both test 😂. I thought I was the chosen one.
