I always say: “if you haven’t had hardship yet, then live a little longer!”
And indeed, hardship, pain however you want to call it, makes you appreciate things far more.
After my little brother died, I am actively visiting and talking to my parents more and really loving every moment we have together. Knowing that we spend as much time as we could when one of us eventually dies. Unlike with my brother we were like: we are young we’ve for time, so it’s normal and you don’t cherish it as much. But we should and hardship will give that as a gift in return.
You wouldn’t enjoy summer without winter.

His answer to the magic question sounds like a cop out. Nobody is thinking of the "magical experience" when asking that questions. We want to know whether we can concentrate our inner Ki and shoot Kamehamehas at people.

If you don't want to be hypnotised but volunteered to be, partially listen to the hypnotist's instructions but sing a song in your head at the same time (especially one in a foreign language).
You can also just change your mind. A good hypnotist won't make you stay (though I did see one hypnotist who coerced someone into staying, which is the mark of a dickish hypnotist). Also, if you don't want to be hypnotized, then you won't be.
Yes great video Derren, I found it very enlightening and I share most of your views except about God, I'm not religious but nature is God, a great force throughout the entire universe we do not understand how it all works and never have. But you are world famous now & you deserve it, you are a genius Derren & we all love your shows. Best wishes from the Isle of Wight. Nick x

I'd say magic exists in the sense that human intelligence is finite so as science learns more about the universe there will eventually come a time when there are things that happen that science simply cannot explain because humanity cannot comprehend it. That for all intents and purposes is the essence of magic. So while there may be a reasonable physical explanation that explanation would simply have to be so complex that the human brain is simply not capable of understanding it.

Spiritualist come to me like mother Mary speaking to me that it's ok to die if we lived a Spiritual life. Whether I did or not, I don't want to die.
I found it. Some interfered to stop me. I was stronger. The thing they didn't know about me, I trained to defeat god for many years. I was becoming the god of war. I wasn't quite that day, but still stronger than them. They kinda managed to make me forget a few things about me. I lost my memory for few weeks. I was in very bad shape, dying almost. Not the best experience. And with each passing day I remembered who I am. They had no chance against me anymore. Today I'm both, the god of war and the king of hell. I was able to push away higher beings and aliens. They were nothing. Magic is very real. Just know some out there don't want you to know that. Fortunately for you, they're so scared of me, they're no longer here to stay in your way. I wrote a book which by the way is completely free. Should you understand it, it will open you the doors to magic and more. Not instantly, but over some years you will begin to change. Don't forget to share! And one more thing, I'm on no one's side. I see myself as a pirate. I have my own way. I'm not evil and not good.
Magic.. can be a .. person a.. place ..a thing... Magic can be whatever.. like laughing at a friend's joke.. the greatest times of out life. Finding the cold side of the pillow. XD.... Sometimes magic is right in front of us but we can never see it. It's the experience that's the real magic..

Maybe we live in multiple overlapping dimensions of reality where opposing opinions can all still be true. God exists if you want god to exist and he/it doesn't if you want something else like reincarnation, Allah or oblivion because you live in your own universe that's mingled in with everybody else's universes.

@@DanLyndon Can consciousness be transferred? It must be able to be - , if it's data... else unless there IS a god...as you state, or nothing - which seems unlikely looking at our own chemical and biological makeup. Michio Kaku has a lot to say on this, especially with the emergence of QC and AI. Probably there is something, but it is almost certainly not the segmented and divisive religious war camp sects which we have already created.

I received a scientific education to the doctoral level. I was a complete materialist, science was the only way to discover the nature of the world. I would have rejected any suggestion of supernatural events or magic. One day, however, as I walked through the kitchen door while my wife was washing eggs, something happened. She had arranged the eggs on a dish towel next to the sink, about 30 eggs. As I walked through the door, one of those eggs decided it was time to move across the towel, over the rim of the sink, and fall to its death at the bottom of the sink. It moved as if an invisible hand had given it a swipe. None of the other eggs moved. There was no wind. There had been no earthquake. The countertop was level. I paused a moment, trying to process what I had seen. I asked her if she had seen it, and she had. I had seen Newton's First Law of Motion violated. It was impossible. But it happened, and I had a witness. What I realized is that there is no available hypothesis to explain it. The event can never be replicated. Science can't touch it. It seems there are things happening here or there at times that are beyond the realm of science, that we may never explain. But, they happen. If there is real magic, this is what it is like. It isn't at our command. We can't make it happen, it just does.

Same category, just different terms and stories being used to describe it. God is more poetic, while the laws of physics is more political. Neither really know the whole story, and just really love thinking about how reality comes into being.

To say the laws of physics are God is a silly as saying the natural universe is God. God is the Creator, not the created. The laws of physics do not create, though they are the means God has ordained for the natural world.
These answers were disappointing. Either one religion is absolutely true and the rest are all wrong, or all are wrong. So I urge you to consider the Person of Jesus of Nazareth and how perfectly He fulfils the revelation of the Scriptures known as the Old Testament, what He has done, and what He has said.
If magic is real then god is real too. But god isn't real so does magic.

Hypnosis is totally fake and he just doesn't want to admit it.
Were did you get the idea it is fake, he did a show if you watch it is quit clear that it is real.
The way he set everything in that show, it could easily silence the most die hard skeptic that hypnosis is real.
@@jameswatson5807 Don't be stupid. Derren Brown started his celebrity career as a Mentalist. Hypnosis, Suggestion and etc are all part of his act as a distraction from the actual methods used. I am absolutely astounded you believe what you see on television too... a true skeptic would never believe something like that on a tv show.
And how do I know it's fake? Because I have studied it, done it and spent about 5 years using it the way magicians do. I mean you argue that a die hard skeptic would be silenced when I could easily say Penn & Teller did a whole episode of Bullshit on the subject showing how fake it actually is and they are both magicians AND skeptics.
So you really have no argument. The ONLY kind of hypnosis that is real if you even want to call it that. Is a trance state of mind, such as when you are driving a car, or reading a book or etc and your mind goes into "auto pilot" but that is in NO WAY the kind of hypnosis romanticized as being influenced or made to cluck like a chicken. It is simply a form of sleep.

You did not even watch the Derren brown show that I suggested before saying I have no argument.
The show is on 4 demand it is the one about assassination, after waiting that there would be no doubt in your mind the assassination guy was under hypnosis.
Derren set something up to show the guy was really under hypnosis, I will not spoil it for you.
And you are wrong like many others, thinking that hypnosis is not an influence or to be made to cluck like a chicken.
In south America people have used hypnosis to rape and rob tourists, and even influence others to kill.
I have been into hypnosis from when I was in school back in 1997, but started using hypnosis on my self in 2001.
I thought the chicken thing was bullshit, until I started to learn the occult side of hypnosis.
@@jameswatson5807 I have watched that show dude. It is all an act. And the same goes for the flashing in the video game that is meant to "hypnotize" people. It also is fake. Trust me I have Derren Brown's books of his tricks I also have the video for magicians he released. i have studied his career because I felt he was one of the more interesting magicians that wasn;t doing lame stuff that Chris Angel or David Blaine were doing. Plus he had an interesting persona something a magician like Dynamo completely lacks. So I am not beating him down when I say that. I am telling you that he really feels hypnosis is not how society percieves it but since it is an important part of his persona as a mentalist and some of the routines in his act rely on the illusion of hypnosis he wont fully come out and admit it is pretty much a scam and why would he? he has many more shows to do.
