Showman was amazing having seen it in Oxford - much more of an emotional journey rather than just a bunch of clever tricks. Always entertained by Darren and his gentle humour. Looking forward to the mid life crisis book! When you see the ageing process around you in your parents and see people you know dying from heart attacks or illness it does bring home the fragility of life - all that we attach to hanging on a thread... When the fearlessness of youth has subsided all that really remains is to find that thing that is larger than yourself so that the ego can be assuaged and its grip loosened on our collars.

Love listening to Derren because sooo much goes into his work. He's right about so many things and definitley the way that Frued says that "individuation" can be hastened through therapy, BUT he also says that individuation NATURALLY occurs with the passage of time. Thanks for a great interview!
