    WARNING! Use gloves, cover your skin with a long sleeve, protect your face and use safety glasses. I recommend a clear safety mask. If you get any of this stuff on any area of your skin it will burn. Do not allow anyone or pets near this stuff. I used it and yes it does work. It removed the clear coat and the silver paint as well but it brought it back to life. My rims look very clean and shiny.

    Easy Peasy! Let’s see you strip clear from a 2 stage alloy wheel? I have expensive alloy wheels that have very little damage, but, I want to go from silver to base black, then clear. Do I strip all layers to alloy and prime,base, clear or scuff up the clear really good and go base and clear? Not rattle can, I will spray myself with gun.

    • @SweetProjectCars
      @SweetProjectCars  Год назад +1

      Well if the wheels are as expensive as you say they are, then there's only one way to do it and it's to do it right. You may have to do this process a couple of times to remove all of the clear, then you can paint them hot pink if you want or any other color that trips your trigger. @@SweetProjectCars yeah I have a few cans of that type clearcoat laying around, I’ll be mixing my own 2 part clearcoat and spraying it on with a gun, my problem is the rustoleum aircraft remover that you used is not available anymore in it’s original formula, the fed changed the law for the environment so the new formulation of the same product sucks, it doesn’t even wrinkle or bubble the paint like the old formula did in five minutes, the reviews are horrible for it, all of the paint strippers from all brands have had to change their formula because of the new law, I can’t find anything available anymore that actually works to get off the old clearcoat and paint, same thing with the Permatex paint stripper, has been discontinued because of the new law. The chemical removed that made it work so good is supposedly methylene chloride.

      I do not want to go against someone else's advice but...I would definitely clear coat bare wheel.
      Reason, brake dust and dirt will stick to aluminum and be very hard to remove. This is why they are clear coated in the first place. I been there done that. My bare rims became discolored and needed a light sanding than clearcoat and it solved problem.
