I got akadama, charcoal, and tiny lava rocks on amazon. That's basically what's in his moss soil. Mix it up and go for it. Works BEAUTIFULLY. My mosses are growing like crazy. Ferns too!
@@michikusa3193 👍. I'm interested in growing Leucobryum pachyphyllum but I'm concerned that since it's a cloud forest species, it might not do so well at sea level.
I’m no expert at all, but I’ve noticed that most mosses thrive in very humid, semi-shadowy places. If you grow the moss in a closed airtight space, you’ll only have to water the moss every two weeks like in the video. As for the light hours it’s tricky. Some mosses thrive with about two to four hours of light, while others do best in eight to 10 hours of light. It’s a matter of testing, however I’m not too finicky with it and just put the moss near (but not in front of) a window so it’ll get light as the day passes.
You can use little plastic cups like those sold in supermarkets and as a lid some cling film with a few holes made by a needle just to let oxygen in. Why spending a lot of money just to propagate moss?
@@tiewkiat I found something similar as "crystallization dish" they're labware though, so they mostly only come in huge quantities and are very expensive.
Thank you for your little experiment! Do you think it's necessary to sterilize the soil? My moss got mold issues a lot, so I had to ask. Also, can we do this all time or some time of the year?

しかし、アラハシラガゴケなどといった山苔には全く変化がありません。
動画のように成長が遅いだけで気長に待てばよいのでしょうか？
目土のしすぎでしょうか？
それとも撒いているものがそもそも死んでしまっていたりするのでしょうか？
撒いた部分としては、緑色よりもその下の茶色い部分をミキサーで粉々にしたものが多いです。（茶色い部分からも生えてくると耳にしたため）
情報も少なく無茶振りな質問かと思いますが、もしお時間あればよろしくお願いいたします。
時間がかかるかもしれませんが、苔につく虫や枝等を抑えることができそうですね

The proper temperature depends on the type of moss. It is easy to grow if you choose the moss that grows in Hawaii.

コケだけを育てるのであれば、肥料は必要ありません。
