I can't wait until the weather breaks cz I'm going to go outside and make mudballs. It brought me so much joy as a child. I actually found a diamond ring my grandmother had lost years earlier, she was so happy she left it too me when she passed away. From that event I thought I was an kid archeologist and I would always find treasures in the soil.

From Singapore here, and I used to do this all the time too at the beach! It had to be the powdery fluffy sand, I would also add the seawater and roll and squeeze then add more dry ones. @BigRockFarm Not as smooth because the sand is not as fine as dirt. It's surprising how solid they become though. Usually you can roll them without them falling apart. Makes a nice addition to sandcastles too.

The techniques you used and every step of the process you included in this video offer more details and result in a higher quality, more attractive, and more stable dorodango than other videos I have watched on making soil spheres.
I also appreciate the loving nuzzle your feline supervisor added. ❤
Making a soil sphere is an enjoyable activity for those of us who spend time working the land we love and treasure. Having a dorodango from our native soil is a piece of art and a symbol of the partnership between the work of our hands and the good earth.

I'm not gonna lie some people don't get it but in an off-grid farm in the desert or some outback place even the internet will not be able to fend off boredom.
Its small things like this that make waiting more fun.
Waiting for the seasons to change, waiting for chicks to hatch, waiting for plants to bloom, waiting for trees to grow. There are lots of chores in a farm, but ultimately not enough and chores are often not enjoyable being repeatedly done every day for years on end.

Those are cool, it would look neat to use them as a border for a small garden bed, especially a rock garden! What a neat idea! Thank you for sharing, happy holidays and God bless. 😊❤

So happy you enjoyed it and they would look beautiful as a border but I would worry about the weather and also water hitting them,as they are just dirt so they are still very fragile . I think that is where I find them even more beautiful but they could get ruined so easily if water had to hit them... happy holidays to you too Jennifer x x.

funny, I used to do something similar with sand on the beach as a kid. I used to like getting wet sand, making a ball out of it, then rolling it in hot, fine sand from further up the beach to give it an outer shell and see just how round I could make the sandball. It also involved the rolling/dropping motion, though of course sandballs will just fall apart very easily compared to compacted dirt.

I don't see why not, once I mix mine with water they are soaked and then totally dry after the playing , tossing and bag time 😁 I hope you do try to make one . Once you feel the ball changing texture it is so satisfying,if you try it let me know how it goes . I love hearing other experiences
