Very much enjoyed being on with Jim and Brian talking SMW 1992. Thankfully Jim Cornette joined us a few months later on our show and we continued the discussion. Here is a playlist of that episode. ruclips.net/video/KfLRhc5byS4/видео.html
Smoky Mountain Wrestling is right up there with Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling as my 2 favorite wrestling Territories. I wish so bad Jim would have hung on another 6 months. He would have never joined WWE full time and having SMW around during the Monday night war era would have been a great place for wrestlers to go to prove themselves . I believe Jim is smart enough that by 2001 he would have made enough money that he could keep going. With WCW going out of business SMW could have grabbed some of those guys that didn’t want to go to the WWE and SMW would be the new king of the south and I can even see the NWA and smoky mountain working together at that time. Long story short if Jim would’ve held on six more months I believe we would still have the smoky mountain wrestling today.
Great announcer chemistry, drama was only used to punctuate story line, clean matches save for heel intervention, the finishers where actually finishers. I love this crap, SMW was great! So glad I discovered it.
I enjoyed Ron Wright as a wrestler and a manager. NO ONE could out talk Ron and his insults were top notch. His hillbilly accent and way of speaking made it all that more interesting. His threating to slap the "far" out of someone was classic. RIP Mr. Wright!
Just a reminder to Mr Mills that it’s been 20 years since ECW went under and loads of ppl to this day still talk about the promotion, it’s style of wrestling, it’s wrestlers and it’s announcer with fondness and when the rise and fall of ECW DVD came out it’s was a success and was voted by the Observed as the best DVD of the year all while SMW is nothing but a distance memory some 25 years after it went bust. A promotion that was nothing more then something for wrestlers past it’s prime to have somewhere to go. I have a pretty clear idea what has held up the most over time between the two and it sure as shit ain’t SMW and that’s backed by the opinion of a majority of fans if we’re being honest. I like SMW for what it was but Good Lord if you actually believe it’s body of work held up better over time then ECW then your on bad drugs.
He was pretty good up here in Philadelphia. I only remember him from the NWA and he was face it Tracy Smothers vanilla baby face. In ECW it was hysterical the southern side of Italy. A member of the Full Blooded Italians. He liked southern fried pizza and gave everyone the fungool sign in a predominant Italian area of Philadelphia. Smothers was awesome with the Italian gimmick I couldn't believe it was him

@@johnnyblack3676 Thanks for listening. I really appreciate the feedback man. I apologize for your annoyance.
As far as spoiler I started listening to this had to shut it off, binge watched SMW now I am back...
New Jack was the Greatest Heat Magnet in The South
It was go away heat.
Not good heat just made me want to turn it off, didn't care
Can you imagine the reaction of the person who found Stans disregarded wig in the hotel
Jimmy Golden is so under rated
I'm almost through 95 (that's where i started to see if i liked it) and Goddamnit Buddy Landell was money.
Great Interview - Mike Mills & Jim Cornette have a good cohesive chemistry.
Thank you Zen

For those of you who haven't heard Mike Mills' show, Booking the Territory, it's a must listen. It's an appointment pod for me each and every week.
Thanks Mark!

Smoky Mountain Wrestling is next to Wrestling Perfection

Awesome. Thanks for listening.
@@BookingTheTerritory smoky was ecw before ecw doc and you say no but i think harper agrees.
Imagine taking the time to tell someone that the wrestling you prefer is better than the wrestling they prefer.
WWE bought ECW and promoted the hell out of it for 10 years, if they had done the same with SMW then people would talk about it too lol
Tracy Smothers is not a legend. Never was. Never will be. SMW was his ceiling.
I literally guffawed when he called Tracy Smothers a legend.
SMW was also my all-around favorite promotion, but yea, that's about as good as he ever got.
