Southeastern/ Continental Championship Wrestling was one of those promotions that never got its due until today thanks to RUclips and the internet. It pretty much was most underrated promotion of the 80's and even laid the groundwork for companies like ECW.
Mind blown. I had no idea how hot wrestling was while watchin as a kid on Nashville TV. They had top notch wrestling right down there at the fairgrounds!
Ron's story about Dutch Mantell is what hooked me to the Studcast. The way he used to scope out the marks and make money from them.....It's genius. That IS pro wrestling!
I love hearing really old shooter tales . My father was raised like these guys ; basically fending for himself with responsibilities at an early age . I feel both lucky and a bit deprived by the comfortable upbringing I got . Deprived because I had to teach myself a lot of the fighting and survival stuff I know but Glad I didn't get overwhelmed at a young age too . Man this was a different time and it was fascinating .
In 1979, a new pro wrestling publication hit newsstands and magazine racks across the nation. It was Pro Wrestling Illustrated. When the first issue went to press, Ron Fuller was ranked at #10 in the National Wrestling Alliance. This was a very informative interview. I hope that one day that he makes it into the WWE Hall of Fame one day.

Does anyone know how to send fan mail on the podcast ?
Check Cornette's website. I'm sure there's an address there.
