It sounds like Kenny King's word isn't worth a single Russian ruble and right now (as of April 2022) a ruble is worth less than one US cent. Maybe he can get a job making Whoppers for $15 an hour at his local Burger King but don't believe him when he says he agrees to the week's work schedule. What next, Kenny King going to work for Vinnie Mac, Stephie and HHH, conning them into putting the WWE World Championship belt on him and holding Wrestlemania hostage next year for an extra $500K and a week long date with Stephie?

But both Steen and Generico were with ROH at the time, and despite their dislike for Corny, there’s an old saying that goes “don’t shit where you eat”, so I can’t really see either one of them approaching a guy who was a current champion in Ring of Honor and talk him into joining a rival promotion without dropping the ROH belt first, which would hurt the company they work for because it would devalue ROH as a whole. It would make them seem second rate to TNA because you’d have a current ROH tag champion decide they’d rather go to a different company and didn’t care about the title they were holding in ROH. Plus if it was them, there was always that chance of Cornette finding out about it, which would bring heat to both Steen and Generico from not just Jim but everyone else in ROH. It just made more sense for it to be someone like Aries, he was with TNA at the time, he didn’t like Cornette either, and Kenny King is a friend of his.

Looking at some of the comments on here are the reason why a lot of wrestling fans don't get any respect. Jim Cornette is saying Kenny King was a shitty WRESTLER. Doesn't have shit to do with him being black! Why does it always have to be a racial thing if it's a black wrestler? Like black wrestlers are so UNIQUE to the pro wrestling world? BULLSHIT! They have problems just like everybody else. Kenny King was just a douchebag who just happened to be black. He didn't have charisma like MVP, J Lethal, New Day, or had the sheer power like Bobby Lashley. Have always loved Cornette - he was 2nd best heel manager in his era next to only the greatest of all time: Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Jim & his tennis racket with the instantly recognizable sequined red slipcase were 2nd only to the man's razor-sharp wit & golden promo skills...he could whittle any opposing team to shreds with his barbs & insults. Definitely one of the top heel managers of all time in pro wrestling - especially in the 1980s!

If I was Delirious I would let Kenny King back into ROH, but only use him as enhancement talent. I would book him to lose to everybody, and make him a joke. Probably give him a comedy gimmick. He would be the ROH version of Curt Hawkins, only without the tag team title win. If he didn't like it, tell him to leave since he wouldn't be winning any titles anytime soon or ever, or work with any main event talent unless it was a squash match.
Hawkins is actually entertaining at least, plus he can do a good match with almost anyone
@@ryanleach3153 Oh I agree. I thought it was weird that WWE had him lose so much before he finally won, and won the Tag Team titles at that. Unlike Hawkins though, while King is a decent athlete, his backstage behavior is what kills it for him. Hawkins withstood a 100 match losing streak, while King just had to win the ROH Tag Team titles before jumping to TNA. It was a move only a mark would make as it had no benefit to his career whatsoever except giving him a bad reputation backstage.
That losing streak got Hawkins so over though...plus the angle he and Ryder had with The Revival from January to June was solid, a guy like King couldn’t replicate that anywhere, cuz nobody cares about him
@@ryanleach3153 Very true, King is a joke. That's why if I was Delirious, I would have jobbed him out until his contract expired. After that, if he wanted to go, he would have no value whatsoever. That would have been sweet revenge for screwing ROH over like he did. Hawkins ran with that losing streak and got over while King didn't care about the business except what he could get out of it. And from what I can tell, King got nothing out of it except a bad reputation. It's also a shame Hawkins was just released from WWE. Hopefully he can go somewhere and get more exposure once this virus nonsense goes away.

Kenny king always ran back and forth from ring of honor or tna wrestling. He should of went to the wwe with all the rest of the original roh roster. He just not really smart in my book.
Kenny king couldn't draw water from a well with a bucket. That guy couldn't fill up a house show with ppl who got free tickets. Kenny king isn't a great wrestler and he can't talk. Enough said.
I remember listening to this years ago. Then someone on a later episode made a real compelling argument (that Jim says COULD be true) that the person Kenny was talking to... the one who said that it wasn't a good deal and he shouldn't honor it... may have been Austin Aries. It makes the most sense considering that Aries, and not just by Cornette's account, but so many other people, is one of the most miserable assholes in wrestling and was known for being a downer backstage in ROH by telling everyone how much it sucks being there (even though he was the highest paid guy on the roster who WASN'T wrestling...)
