@@geofferyrobertson6608 it’s easy to say support your local butchers or grocery but in now times need to get a bargain and local is expensive and not always the best. People just don’t have money.
The pork loin at $11.99 is a bargain. I never liked it in the past but I accidentally found out that I had been overcooking it. Cooked right, it's lovely.
The only meat I buy from Costco is the organic mince $30 x 3 = 500gm packs, And sometimes the Silverside $25 I think nearly 2kg I cut in half. Ham hocks 3 pack nice sizes Bertocchi brand around $23. There is good bargains, I usually check prices on my phone from the supermarkets butter grassed feed $10 x 4 pack 250 gm in each . I could go on there is a lot of cheap buys especially when they have reductions or specials and easy to get caught up in spending buying things not really needed. 😂
Costco = Mince is cheap. Pork prices seem normal, not bargains. Beef prices much dearer than I’m paying outside Costco. Haven’t been a member for years, determined the value is not there to warrant the annual fee. Google your prices while at Costco and you may find what you are about to buy is cheaper elsewhere IMHO.
WOW!!!! How price have gone up!!!! When I was there in Australia 30 years ago, lamb was AUD$1.99. Top-side Steak was 8.90/KG. Damn, what is wrong with the country of, Land of milk and honey?????
Those pork roasts were so cheap, per kilo. I was in Coles last night, in rural SA, and they were selling boneless pork roasts for $34.99/kg. Those bulk lamb packs are very good value, when compared to my town. Local independent butcher's shop can't match the price.
Buy more when on special at other supermarkets.. that is what I do. I bulk buy when meat is cheaper at other major supermarkets, lot cheaper and no Membership fees
@@michellemeuleman385 I'm in a small rural town. Not many options. For us Costco has the best prices for meats plus gluten free and dairy free products. THe good old days before cooking shows. 50 cents each how many you want? or thrown in for free for the dog. Look what cooking shows did to Scotch. Couldnt give it away 3.50 a kilo now its 50 and its called Scotch as a derogatory term its poor mans fillet.
geofferyrobertson....... I've always resented the "shank shakedown". Years ago our local butcher used to give us 4 free shanks for our dog. Costco don't have copious amounts of water in their meat and it is butcher quality. You just need to know your prices before you go. Washing detergents are in larger containers and much cheaper than supermarkets and it just feels good to not buy from the two big supermarkets after the price gouging they have done.
Meat and poultry very expensive.. thought at this store be lot cheaper than the regular supermarkets?
