Hi Dan you must take into consideration Marcelito pomoy speaks Tagalog, not English or Italian so He is not only switching between Tinner and Saprono but Two different languages plus He is sitting Down and Doing This live on a Radio Station. Try singing a song in two different languages that you don't even Speak, very Difficult in it's Self now consider the Octive ranges and how quickly you must Change from one to the other. Now take into consideration he is self thought and had absolutely no Training. You should hear the version where Marcelito recorded the female and male parts separately and combined them. You can easily find that version on youtube. Also, the song was created as a duet between a man and a woman, so of course there are some sacrifices to be made when it is sung by just one man. So, I understand the feeling of pointing out that point, but more than that, I think it should be appreciated that this duet song was sung well by only one man.

These vocal coaches are all over the place. One likes his low voice, one likes high voice. A little pitchy, too much breath, not enough breath. I listened to it and I thought it was the best live performance of a song I've ever heard. Gave me goosebumps, tears and touched my heart. And the people agree with me. There are countless of reactions of this with people stunned, getting goosebumps and flat out crying. One did a prayer after the reaction. If this song didn't move you, nothing will. And he claimed that Marcelito is doing a party trick. Please find me someone else that can do this. The thing that this reaction proved is that this vocal coach is out of touch with the people.

You also have to realize that at the time he sang this, he could hardly speak English, so he probably doesn’t “feel” the song like English people would. I think when he performs on stage, he shows more emotion with the song. I still think that this is a magnificent performance and that he has a beautiful voice.

I recently listened to a baritone singer reactor who actually seemed to prefer the upper register tone. So, it just shows how subjective these reactions are. I do love Marcelito's lower register but this baritone singer didn't seem that impressed.

This guy is an impressionist. The focus is the vocal gymnastics. It's not the theatrics and feels and connection with the lyrics . He's not trying to move you. When he is impersonating Andrea, that isn't his "real" voice either. If you want to be moved, listen to Morissette Amon or Gigi De Lana or Lea Salonga.
Dr. Dan you are correct. The technique and skill is good, but there is a disconnect with no real value, emotion, and feeling to it. It is more like "see how I can do both parts", but there is nothing else. That would have been 🔥 if it was a real duet with him doing either part, but preferably the baritone part (Must say though he is great in both h his low and upper register!!) Both parts come in too soon for one person to do both parts. It loses the real meaning and emotion when he does it by himself. A duet with better timing this guy would kill it for sure!! Every duet can not be performed that way. Some can, but this is not one of them.

You should hear the version where Marcelito recorded the female and male parts separately and combined them. You can easily find that version on youtube. Also, the song was created as a duet between a man and a woman, so of course there are some sacrifices to be made when it is sung by just one man. So, I understand the feeling of pointing out that point, but more than that, I think it should be appreciated that this duet song was sung well by only one man.

I believe marcelito has no formal training in music but having such raw talent is already something. In music, when singers do sing it's not all about tone quality but also how singers communicate the emotion they are singing.

These vocal coaches are all over the place. One likes his low voice, one likes high voice. A little pitchy, too much breath, not enough breath. I listened to it and I thought it was the best live performance of a song I've ever heard. Gave me goosebumps, tears and touched my heart. And the people agree with me. There are countless of reactions of this with people stunned, getting goosebumps and flat out crying. One did a prayer after the reaction. If this song didn't move you, nothing will. And he claimed that Marcelito is doing a party trick. Please find me someone else that can do this. The thing that this reaction proved is that this vocal coach is out of touch with the people.

You also have to realize that at the time he sang this, he could hardly speak English, so he probably doesn’t “feel” the song like English people would. I think when he performs on stage, he shows more emotion with the song. I still think that this is a magnificent performance and that he has a beautiful voice.

Marcelito copied both Celine and Andrea's voices almost to perfection so calling his performance as falsetto would be incongruous wouldn't it be? Marcelito also mimics other singers in their own languages which he does not even speaks nor understand.
I searched RUclips and noticed that you haven't done Angelina Jordan (won Norway Got Talent at 8) appeared on AGT Champions 2 in 2020 at age 13; her audition she performed her own arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody which blew the Judges away especially Simon Cowell and earned the golden buzzer by Heidi Klum. so... i tihnk you're analysis is interesting. It's the first time I heard that criticism about "connection" with him and I've watched a LOT of people react to this performance. Many coaches and singers as well. I understand your point of view. I'm not sure I agree with it. I recently listened to a baritone singer reactor who actually seemed to prefer the upper register tone. So, it just shows how subjective these reactions are. I do love Marcelito's lower register but this baritone singer didn't seem that impressed.

I think you have never heard of the technique of doble kara or dual voice? You are very unknowledgeable in this area and I believe that is head voice not falsetto at all and it is definitely not a "party trick". Do you use that derogatory language in all of your analyses?

This guy is an impressionist. The focus is the vocal gymnastics. It's not the theatrics and feels and connection with the lyrics . He's not trying to move you. When he is impersonating Andrea, that isn't his "real" voice either. If you want to be moved, listen to Morissette Amon or Gigi De Lana or Lea Salonga.

A virtuoso, very stunning performance but not artistic to my liking.
Dr. Dan you are correct. The technique and skill is good, but there is a disconnect with no real value, emotion, and feeling to it. It is more like "see how I can do both parts", but there is nothing else. That would have been 🔥 if it was a real duet with him doing either part, but preferably the baritone part (Must say though he is great in both h his low and upper register!!) Both parts come in too soon for one person to do both parts. It loses the real meaning and emotion when he does it by himself. A duet with better timing this guy would kill it for sure!! Every duet can not be performed that way. Some can, but this is not one of them.
Then why are so many reactors getting goosebumps and crying on the internet. I don't know a performance that has moved me more.
