Despite all the shade thrown at marketing, Leuning Horst Leuning still finished the dram. That alone should speak "volumes."

I really only pay attention to whisky's which Luening finishes in these taste tests, it's definitely a power move if you can call it that.

agreed. Especially appealing to a juvenile crowd... how about keep things simple and cozy and appeal to the true scotch lover

horst, as a suggestion, if you could perhaps rate your whiskies this would be helpful to the punter. i concede its subjective, different folks have different palates and preferences, though i would say you of all people could provide an educated and considered rating. ive been a fan of highland park for a while, and i would give them, in their varying aged guises, 8 - 9 out of 10. they are excellent whiskies. they are perhaps outclassed by balvenie for my tastes.
Highland Park has probably been the most egregious in their marketing hype compared to other brands. They used to be my favorite.

Technically 17-year-old, but every bit as mature as the standard 18.
Horst, you never actually tell us if you like it or recommend it. Let us know what you think. I say this because I use these videos to help me make a decision on whether to buy a whisky.
