I have been seeing a therapist since last November. She is absolutely amazing. I would honestly sit and talk to her for hours on end if i could. Sadly, she is the first therapist out of several that I've seen in my lifetime who has actually helped me. The last therapist i saw created problems rather than helping me solve existing problems. My current therapist is not only having to help me cope with recent trauma, she is also having to undo the damage that last therapist did. I love my therapist.

A healthy balance my friend sure therapy is good only to a exstent. What you need to do is self will and preservation tear down what is rotted and build back up. Also people must remember not all therapist are well in for you best intrest or whats to mold you but putting there ideas in or well put you on meds money ect. Its a tricky rabbit hole that needs to be avioded. Hell best therapist is sometimes just talking to yourself and doing deep thinking philosophizing and understanding.

ngl to you the people above me are spitting facts. if therapy helps you good on you, but the pictures and advisions of the people around you to personally engage in therapy offers an easy to miss suspension of reality. going through a therapy session would be hell to me in comparison to having friends help me.

(sometimes talking to a teacher helps me too)
bc one of my friends keeps on ignoring me or ditching me everytime I vent to them-
sure I talk alot but i rlly feel alone when ppl ignore me-
another thing is that I HATE worrying ppl-

It’s so helpful and wonderful to have a place where you finally feel understood and listened to, about every problem or anything that bugs you. It truly shows you how you can be better with small steps towards personal growth.

I just started going to therapy. I have my second session this Monday(the 1st of Aug), and my first one was two weeks ago. I didn't realize how much I needed it until I was there. I obviously had my first appointment with my mom, and that's when I realized how much I actually force down and have been keeping to myself. I thought I was open and not holding emotions in, until I could barely answer the questions asked of me infront of my mom. I've gotten so used to saying "I'm fine" when anyone asks if im okay even if I'm doing horrible. I haven't had a horrible life, and I've been lucky to have good people in it. But I have been through my fair share of things that im just now realizing would be considered trauma, and my anxiety(gad, separation, and social) has made so many things so much harder for me. I really hope this will help me! Fingers crossed :p

I definitely need therapy, but none of my parents let me do therapy, they say" you're just overreacting and trying to make us feel bad"
The say to "express my feelings" but every time I do, the say that I'm trying to make them feel bad for me and they say that I'm an attention seeker. Even my sister says that. And they also say that since I'm going into highschool I have to deal with my emotions alone, so I don't really know what comfort is anymore. But its whatever, I'm fine, and I guess I don't really need a therapist but Idk.

Everyone at some point needs therapy in their life. Your parents and sister are maybe your family, but often family can't handle a true emotional support. You have to listen to yourself, believe in yourself and in your emotions, and most of all in your inner needs. I too couldn't talk these subjects with my family so I went to therapy on my own, talked to various people and I feel better now. Don't assume your family knows what is best for you, only you will know that and it may take some time to realise it

you probably do. it's different in everyone but i mean, i've also been experiencing that and i'm in almost the exact same position as you and i am not ok. you aren't overreacting, they're the ones refusing to help or even understand and they're the ones judging you and making you feel guilty. That's their way of defending themselves from what you feel because they don't know what to do - and sometimes that does cause negative effects. I hope things get better and i know i'm just a random youtuber but i care about how you feel ❤
also they also insist on being like tell me your feelings-
also them: i have to carry your emotional baggage

literally the first point of the video was in point with me. i had told my parents that i would like to go to therapy multiple times, yet they always kept telling me that "you're just gonna go in there, talk and then leave, and a 100 zł will go to waste.". after some tries they "agreed" to do it after I finish the school year. it's been 1 and a half months and i still haven't heard anything about it.
it's super frustrating, worst part is that they assume i am fully alright because I have went to therapy 4 years ago and have solved my problems, so i could stop going. now a lot has changed and frankly, i feel like shit. yet they still believe that therapy is a waste of time and keep telling me that when I go to a new school I'll meet new people and my issues will disappear, or something like that.
all i really asked of them is to go one time to even confirm if there's something wrong with me. it's frustrating as hell.

I have been watching a lot of these videos lately. I've felt constantly tired for so long now, but recently its gotten worse. I can feel that I get more angry, jealous and upset more often. As well as a strain in some of my relationships. I've also been struggling significantly with my studies, and concentration in my classes. Ultimately causing my grades to drop a lot.
However, I don't know if I have any mental illness. I know I get anxious and upset quite frequently, but how am I meant to tell my family? The version of me that they see is a lot more happy. I don't express my worries or problems to them as much as I should because I fear becoming a disappointment to them.
I'm now thinking about telling them, but I'm not entirely sure if I even have TIME for therapy. I don't know what to do anymore.

I was in therapy for 6 months in 2018-2019. I'm actually grateful for that I got to that point when I was sent to therapy after a trauma that causing so much emotional pain till this day.
It was one of my life's most important experiences. The trauma, and the therapy as well. I met wonderful people, who were struggling with something then too. Some of them are better since, but some of them - including me - are not feeling well overall. Therapy gave me unfamiliar feelings of viabilty for a few months. But I slowly relapsed, and it got even worse then ever before. Now, I feel more miserable in some regards even than after the trauma that brought me to therapy. But now, I'm not open to meet new people in another therapy, my energy for life is too low. I just exist since some time. It's just... getting scarry that... a miracle is my only hope. At least I feel that way. And unfortunately I don't even have the opportunity to see a psychologist.
    You, who reads this!
If You need to, if You can, go to therapy!

I’m finally getting therapy!! My doctor recommended me therapy because I’m trans to cope with gender dysphoria but I also deal with trauma from my 4th grade teacher and I have violent tendencies so I’m excited to get help :D

I've been on the journey to healing and although I've been seeing a therapist for like 2 months now, the biggest thing that helped me is this:
Find someone or even a few people you can trust to be entirely open and honest with. Practice kindness, respect and positivity, not just towards others but yourself. Retrain your brain to think positively, but know also, that it doesn't change overnight. It takes time, patience, and consistent work to make it happen. I didn't really notice a difference until about 3 or 4 months in. I also had the constant support of 2 best friends and my boyfriend to help me by telling me what they thought my positive traits were and pretty soon I started coming up with my own. Understanding that the miserable people who dragged you down to the point of where you got depressed and anxious are just miserable people who want everyone around them to be miserable too. I call them soul-draining demons cause that's EXACTLY what they are. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people who want nothing but happiness for themselves and you. Happy people love making a difference in people's lives. Once you become happy yourself, you'll be able to tell toxic, miserable, fake people from the real ones in a heartbeat and being the happier person you are you'll no longer attract toxic because they're intimidated by you because you're stronger. Just some thoughts on the subject. :)

No.9 is the greatest single piece of advice I have ever heard from you all. Something that few people actually knew until now.

I think this is important for people to know.
I've had therapy for almost three years, and I saw very little progress so I think about stop going to therapy.
This hole year 2022, I haven't got therapy accidentally, I didn't have time.
Now, with almost 7 months without therapy, I've realized that my mental health has got worse, and that I need therapy.
Please, think about going to therapy if ur struggling, don't wait like me.

Yeah, I've been to therapy off and on for 30+/- years through my tumultuous marriage/divorce in regards to the custody battle and abuse I endured by my ex-husband and his mother. Then also for my PTSD and depression/anxiety, I did some online, and overall, I feel like the in-person might've worked for different aspects and the online for more intense, but not too deep emotional revelations to resolve. However, I would like to return to help me navigate my loneliness and grief since my mother passed 2 years ago in June. I have done a lot of shadow work and healing work with that, but I feel I need more connection with others who have gone through similar situations as I have in my 53 years.

I've actually been experiencing all of this lately, and yes, I'm undergoing therapy and I just wanna tell everyone reading this that therapy is hard. It's not just talking about your feelings and stuff, but it also involves understanding what really happened, not only in your point of view, but others' point of view too. If you're emotionally/mentally abused, you have to realize that it's not your fault (no, there's nothing for certain that I'm like that, I just have relationship problems with my family). You also have to realize what your worth really is and to work on not letting yourself get affected by shit. You have to filter out what you actually listen to, and for me, that was the hardest part.
For those who are struggling, I just want to tell you that you're not alone. Some people may not understand what you're going through, but a lot of us do. We may be strangers, but we're all humans and we care for each other. Just keep going, you'll get through this!

I already knew that I needed therapy and this just confirmed it even more. Sadly, when informing my parents I need therapy because everything that I loved is such a bore to me, meals have become hard to swallow and I constantly don't understand what I am feeling or what to do about it so my solution was to shut everyone out, however, I just got told that I'm an attention seeker and I should be grateful for what I have so, now I continue to stay silent and don't complain. :(

I feel like I wouldn't know what to do or say if I had a therapist.
This coming from someone who gets depressed for a day or two if I've been working too hard, which I imagine is not a normal or common thing.

This video literally came out yesterday.. almost to the hour i decided to go to my local wellness center and ask for a therapist... and all these signs fit my description. Ive been in therapy but not one i felt like i was being heard or felt a sense of comfort. I felt so disconnected and i know they tried but i just didn't allow their help. But its time. Its time to take control over my life as once i felt when i almost ended my life.

My therapist was terrible. Didn't take notes and basically had to tell them my whole life story each session bc she didn't choose to write down anything about me. Made me feel forgotten. I'm hesitant to seek therapy again

Since I was 2, I had therapy just so I could talk to someone. I stopped during high school.....and I really regret it

No it wasn't my choice. I was two. Mom told me about this cause she was the one who made me go to therapy.

Mental health is considered important only in very few places in my country, and since psychologists/psychiatrists idk which one is right, are very less in number, so you don't know much about their competency and hence can't really trust them
