@@cherylgabriel5706 I came second that year I think - was beaten by a lady holidaying from North Wales who'd brought some of hers with her. It was a little darker than mine - perhaps regional differences in Sloes? I'd recommend making 2 different batches, one with 1/2 lb of sugar, the other with a 1lb just to see what you prefer - I've had a few comments that my ratio is too much sugar but it's what I prefer
Very light in colour m8 usually means too much sugar to sloes. Each to their own of course and an awesome drink, use your spent sloes with brandy to get the most from them tastes great. My personal favourite is blackberry vodka , stunning on its own and ready in just a month 👍
Awesome video, thank you!
nice one I also have a still (air still) been using for about 5/6 years now it is a very rewarding hobby
Really lovely little film James- thank you for making & sharing it. Am all set to make mine now. Btw.. how did you do in the agricultural show?

wow that's a lot of sugar I do about 1/2 that but each to their own!
Way to much sugar for me, half that amount and it will still be very sweet.
