- Replacing the stock control arms with Metalcloak’s heavy duty arms is not a difficult task. Covered in gold zinc chromate, these new arms will add strength and resist corrosion. The duroflex bushings are made with Kevlar and give you superior flexibility while also providing a comfortable on-road ride.
In this video we show you how to install them, with a few tips and tricks along the way.
for anyone watching this to make your life much easier, you do not need a ratchet strap. you don't even need jack stands to do this. jack up the rear pumpkin, take the wheels off, remove both lower control arms, let the jack down very slightly which will rotate the axle downward and backwards. jack up if you need it to go upwards and forward. in this case, just let the jack down slightly until the new longer control arms line up, bolt in, wallah.

Mostly okay but they should know that lifting at the pumpkin can case the seal to unseat or break.

Good video brother, that Metalcloak is Super Heavy Duty stuff. When my stock control arms get tired this is the system I`ve been looking at.
You won’t regret it. I’ve REALLY enjoyed mine. Did a lot of research before settling on Metalcloak. Very happy and if I had to buy control arms again I’d still get these.
I had that same issue with the rear upper control arm. I felt the bushing was too big. But after seeing you force it in. I’ll do the same.
The more I work on Jeeps the more I realize that brute force can usually fix your problem if you can’t figure out the easy way. (Hint: the EASY way is raising and lowering the axle to line it up perfectly)
I did mine with the axle on the jack stands.

Thanks, I am installing my Gamechanger 4.5 right now, and I think I was measuring my upper control arms from the wrong side making the arms too long. My spring have (IMO) an extreme arch to them and the passenger side is touching my rear track bar.
Measuring your existing control arms won’t give you the right angle. I recommend using the chart Metalcloak provides to ensure your control arms are longer or shorter as appropriate, this ensures your axles are aligned properly. Many people don’t know that One of the main reasons to replace your control arms is to get your proper geometry back. Short, they had lots of extra strength and flexibility, but putting them at the same length as your stock control arms prevents you from restoring your jeep to the position it was originally engineered to utilize.

It IS sweet. It’s the TeraFlex Alta Cargo rack. I loved the way it looked, it was perfect for throwing a cooler on top, firewood, and camp chairs. It has space for Rotopax mounts and a PowerTank... HOWEVER it is REALLY heavy. Over time it began to damage my tailgate (saw a small bend and it developed a squeak) though to be fair when I called Teraflex about it they said it was possible it wasn’t installed perfectly. I no longer have it, but I do miss it sometimes!

Not long at all. Maybe 2 hours? That includes stopping to film and setting up the cameras to capture things...
