I recently dropped my bsf that I've known since BIRTH. She was constantly rude to me, my friends, even her own friends. Constantly trying to please her..I always felt obligated to be friends with her because our moms were best friends as well. But ever since we've gotten away from that toxic family life has been so much better. I loved her more than she could ever love me, so I'm glad to start a new chapter in my life.

This exact thing happened to me a year ago. Our moms were best friends of 30 years. They no longer speak either. Ruined my life for a minute because of the way our friendship ended and the things she said to me were genuinely evil and devastating but I’ve realized now that anyone who could even think those things, let alone say them to someone who’s been their life long “best friend” (we actually always called ourselves family and cousins) is not someone I ever want in my life or exposed to my child or personal issues. She used my mental health against me, talked about my first born daughter who passed away, talked about my family, made fun of me for all my insecurities I told her about over the years.. it really hurt me and sometimes I still think about her but I know that I will NEVER speak to that person again and it gives me peace.. it did feel like a break up and a heartbreak though. My hearts even more whole now without her though ❤️

Ive felt like that with christian friends because I'm not religious. I felt I had to hide parts of me and pretend to be perfect just to be their friend. They'd always try to pressure me into church or encourage me to follow rules from the bible, when I did not believe the same way.

Entering college actually made me lose a lot of my childhood friends and my best friend. Seeing this really helped me understand that losing friends is another step in our journey.
Also SEASONAL was a perfect way of putting it. I had trouble describing how it felt.

Yeah but I also want to say for anyone who is going through a friendship break up that you’re allowed to feel your feelings. If you’re feeling sad, angry, hurt, grief, or anything. Let yourself process your emotions. It’s okay. It doesn’t make you weak. You don’t have to girl boss through everything or forget that it happened. It did happen. You broke up with a friend to keep your peace but it’s completely normal to feel the storm inside you. I just want this serve this as a reminder it’s okay to not be okay ❤❤

Dropped my best friend of 4 years. Best thing I got from that relationship was being in the lives of her children (even if she isn't), and I learned to stick up for myself. If youre considering it, but youre too nervous, its okay! It will be okay, I promise. I don't regret my decision at all. I just wish I had done it sooner, instead of waiting until my life was made worse by her.

I have known my best friend since we were a for twelve years(I’m twelve) and recently she and my other bestie have been constantly abandoning me when we all go some where together, ignoring me at recess and lunch and they made up a secret language that they won’t tell me what it means. I agree, but this mentality needs to have checks and balances. I’ve seen it turn into a type of mentality of “I drop people as soon as I have no more use of them” or “I drop people the moment anything too real or too hard happens”
Although some times you do have to cut people out, in the end your own personal happiness comes first. I’ve just seen it turn bad too many times lol.

Yeah you also don’t want to just use dropping toxic as just giving people the silent treatment and avoiding problems after a disagreement. It’s happens. You could end up alone that way.

Ayo I had a friendship breakup too and she was my friend for 4 years I was the toxic one in the beginning but when I started being a better person and tried to fix our bound it didn’t work out I blame myself but I started healing very much and I prioritised her and then she started acting toxic towards me and as I was wrong in the past she used to dug out the same past mistakes of mine so there was no point of me being better person so we cut off each other I really miss she was there with me at my lowest but I hope she finds a good friend circle and a female best friend who will treat her better ❤

I broke up with my best friends of 10 years and 8 years toward the end of college. We always had small fights, but i loved them and once you're in my circle, I have a hard time letting go
I realized I outgrew them because, while I was becoming more mature, they seemed to be stuck in their 16 year old mentalities. They would make fun of my boyfriend's name because he was from another country (his name was actually very easy to pronounce) and judged me for having queer friends. They seemed to forget I'm pan and one of them has two queer siblings -.-
The last straw was when they made fun of a mutual friend of ours who posted on social media asking if anyone would be willing to donate a kidney. She was adopted and none of her relatives nor her partner was a match. No shame in not wanting to donate an organ, but judging her for asking? Come on, that's just cruel.
