    I just bought an XT 2 in large part due to your reviews and videos! I can’t wait to start shooting with it. I enjoyed shooting with film about 15 years ago and I’m looking forward to reviving my old hobby with this!

    Thanks Chris. Started with Canon 15 years ago, sold the lot a few years ago in favor of the iPhone. Recently got back into photography as a hobby and just bought a new Fujifilm camera. Love your enthusiasm for the platform. You’re one of the reasons I chose Fujifilm.

    Very informative video Chris. I've only ever used Fujifilm cameras after I switched from film to the digital world. X-Pro 1 and the X-T3 are what I use. I'm currently watching an X-T1 on Ebay with my fingers hovering over the keyboard to put a bid in..... providing the price doesn't get too ridiculous.

    Made the full transition from Canon digital to an XT-1 so that I could use vintage lens' and then I proceeded to purchase Fuji lens. Though I still use Pentax 67, 645, and LX for film. Fuji replicates these the best thus the transition.

    I am literally just into Fujifilm [X-T5] in a big way > literally selling my Z7 II and lenses. So so much smaller and more importantly for my the lighter weight both in camera body and the lenses (much cheaper) smaller and lighter. First week was a bit of a struggle I must admit. In the last week decided on 3 images and printed ~ very very satisfied. Vintage look and the whole experience has put joy and meaning back into my photography
    Thanks for this

    The look and jpegs are definitely two of the reasons why I got my X-E2. That and it's so much easier to carry! I still love and use my Canon system but Fujifilm is something special. The TTArtisan lens are way cheaper and I still have so much fun using manual lenses.
    Great video and thanks for reminding me to get another battery!

    Nice video Chris - Subscribed! Having watched several videos on the subject of the Fuji X-T1, I have taken the plunge and purchased one for myself! I spotted a used X-T1 on the MPB website, listed at £359 described as “excellent condition” (cosmetic!). I also purchased a half leather case and a battery grip at the same time for a few quid more! To be honest, I was a little nervous since the item description did not detail the “shutter count”! MPB offer a no quibble 14 day return so I thought it was worth taking a punt! I’m hoping that the condition of the camera is indicative of little use and a low shutter count!! As a current Canon camera owner, I didn’t have any Fuji compatible lenses however, I decided to put in an offer on a TTArtisan 24mm f1.4 lens, which I secured at £92.50 (near mint condition). This should arrive tomorrow or Saturday, after which I’m hoping I can take some shots and try and obtain the shutter count to evaluate wear and tear / longevity etc.
    First impressions are it’s a funky stylish retro looking camera. Very comfortable in the hand….certainly a lot smaller than my Canon 40D!

      Fantastic! Glad you've taken the plunge on the X-T1, and I hope it's a really enjoyable little camera for you. I think the value for money is amazing when you consider what you're getting. Enjoy that lens too!!

    It is so true, that it is a very physical experience with Fujifilm. I love to use it with vintage Olympus lenses. Honestly, it is almost that both are designed to be together.
    I do have modern lenses too, but I somehow prefer the vintage ones!

    As another RUclipsr said, why not shoot in both RAW and JPEG, for maybe in the future one might regret not having done so.

  • @philipcooper8297
    @philipcooper8297 Год назад

    If you shoot raw, preferably jpeg+raw, you may choose/change the film simulation even later on in the postproduction. So, there's no need to be sad for not choosing the right film simulation at the spot. The same goes for all the settings and features.

    • @ChrisOrange

      yep - if you shoot JPEG it's always worth shooting both JPEG/RAW

    Why is it that here you advocate having the DR setting at 100%, whereas in your video specifically about DR you’re all ‘pump it up’? Interested as it seems like a Fuji feature that’s worth taking advantage of. Great videos btw.

    I know under newer models you can take three film simulations at the same time on top of the normal jpeg does the XT1 offer this option as well?

    Hi Chris, what settings do you use when shooting black and white on the xt1?

    • @ChrisOrange
      @ChrisOrange  Год назад

      Hi Harry, I shoot RAW usually and use one of my presets instead. If you have a newer Fujifilm camera you can create a recipe using the Acros film simulation as the base which also works really well. If you want to download my presets, here's the link: photographymadesimple.uk/dynamic-range-settings/

      The Viltrox 23 1.4 would be a good lens. I would recommend either of the 35mm lenses from Fuji also. The 15 to 45 is a nice lens by Fuji. It is underrated.

      Hi, what is your experience with the XC 15-45? I bought an XT4 with the 16-80, but in total it is a bit massive to quickly grab it for a walk. Thought that with the XC15-45 it might fit in a larger jacket pocket or carry around on a relax holiday. But trying to buy it 2nd hand (was just sold), the guy sold it because he had to wait till the lens was drawn back in before he could see the picture on the LCD. Do you recognise this? Thanks for your reply in advance!

    Hi Chris….Can you or any of your viewers help me with a query, following a recent purchase of an X-T1? Per my previous comment, I also purchased a near mint TTArtisan 24mm f1.4 lens which arrived this morning. Popped it on the camera, turned it on and tried to take my first test shot….NOTHING😢 The shutter release button does not activate the shutter!! As I’m new to this camera, have I missed something? As it’s a manual lens, I’ve set the front button to “M” (manual), the battery is charged, I’ve formatted an SD card but nothing seems to work! On some newer models I’ve read you can unlock the shutter release button when using a manual lens however, there isn’t the same option in the settings menu on the X-T1……..any ideas, or could this be a faulty camera?….Gutted it’s not working as I had hoped!😢

    • @ChrisOrange
      @ChrisOrange  4 месяца назад

      Hi there, not to worry, you just need to head into the Fujifilm menu and switch on 'shoot without lens' and it will then work.

    • @ChrisOrange
      @ChrisOrange  4 месяца назад +1

      I think the 'shoot without lens' option is under SET UP and Button/Dial. Once you've changed that setting, the camera will work with non native Fujifilm lenses.

      @@ChrisOrange A BIG Thank you for such a prompt reply Chris. I did look for this option in the settings menu of the X-T1 but couldn’t find it! Is the “Shoot without lens” a menu option on this model, or is it only an option in later Fuji models?
