Maybe but no box pictures so I have to downvote. And we couldn't even see the whole cat, just some legs. What kind of scale truck video are you guys promoting here?
Your attention to detail is amazing. I didn't realize all of the issues that body had (aside from the weird fender shelf). Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
Just wanted to let you know that you Inspire me to finish my Marlin Crawler project that sadly has been on the back burner for years now. Thanks for sharing your videos with us.
I say about 98% of everything you did, I would be scared to do. I would only make slurry and scuff the body. You have a really great talent at doing this kind of hobby. Nice job!
Try it! What's the worst thing that could happen? You make a cut wrong and have to glue the piece back on and cut again? Remember, always measure once, cut 3-4 times.
Being a auto body tech/ slash painter ! Watching your skills on theses bodies is awesome! I thank you bud!! This is great content! See you on next video sir!🤘🏻👍💪💯
I love your attention to detail.. Just one question cause I have been thinking of getting into this portion of the hobby.. What glue are using to put the body panels back together. Thank you
My favorite part was when you did the thing and you liked it and then you didn't like it so you undid it and then did again and you liked it that time I guess.
You do some amazing work, very realistic, love t see the effort it takes also. What and where does one pick up a lovely tool as you have in that Japanese pull saw?
I know this probably seems like a simple question was that a cloth that you lied in the corner of the cab corners or was that just styrene stock? Looking forward to the next video thanks again for your time!
@@turksandjerps My RC4WD C2X, my sons C2X, I should say. The cab corners split at the glue joint. I’m thinking they used quick set epoxy? Didn’t seem to flex able, should have seen that coming. Not a big deal. Looking forward to a video on Styrene and solvents Etc!!! Thanks again for your time.
Can you plz tell me what kind of saw and blade you are using to cut the body? Also what kind of glue are you brushing on there? I just ordered the same body it will be my first time attempting something like this
I like to use Japanese dovetail or pull saws. You can also use a razor saw more geared towards hobbyists. The glue is a solvent such as acetone or MEK, it melts the plastic together to form the bond.
@@turksandjerps thank you for the reply I really appreciate it! So you only use the chemical to bond the plastic together correct? No glue or adhesive in between pieces? Thank you again
Sorry about that. I lowered the volume on the audio a bit to keep down the sound of my creaky floors and noisy little house. I'll investigate different options for audio.
I would buy a subscription to your channel if I had to pay money cancel my cable. Honestly I don’t have cable and there’s not too many channels out there they give people hope Mike Harris and the motivation to go ahead in and use your eyes and hands a little bit of imagination to bring it the next step thanks a bunch for your time! Also I don’t think there’s a lot of people out there that know about styrene solvents/glue..?
@@turksandjerps Yesh, I really like the ceramic brush holder. I have a coworker that owns a ceramic shop here in NH. I’m going to wait to ask her after I do some homework on the solvents used. It’s chemistry! That would be a great lesson for all of us to know in this hobby… not only to know but to see how the different applications it’s used for.
At 4:51 in the video it shows what I use as a solvent. It's MEK substitute, which creates a solvent weld. My little bottle with the brush is filled with the same thing. You can also use something like acetone.
Hey Noob, can you elaborate on the hood fix? I did what I thought you were doing to fix the gap but apparently I was not and just ordered another hood.
@@turksandjerps thanks for responding! :-) I’m trying to find out what parts of the pieces you modified to get it to fit properly. My first attempt went bad lol It looked like you were cutting that little overlap piece on the hood between the guides where it interferes at the cowl plate. Or did you extends the overlap portion by cutting back into the hood horizontally. It would make much more sense if I could draw it :-/
So what I did was shortened the hood a few mm to line back up with the fenders. Since the front end was pinched it made the hood appear long. You can see inscribed a line and removed all that. Then I had to notch out the firewall/bulkhead/whatever to accept the hood “hinge” again.

The fender shelf must've come from the fourth dimension.
Great work, I like that razor blade that looks like a mini chisel

Glad you got after the a pillar! It really bugs me with that body
This is the first time I've bothered to fix it after doing a two of the 4Runners. The windshield glass will have to be custom made now.
Meh, how about trying a hilux windshield? I've thought about using the hilux windshield frame and a pillar, and graft it to the 2nd gen.

Whats the white material you’re using to re mold the fenders?
polystyrene
I know this probably seems like a simple question was that a cloth that you lied in the corner of the cab corners or was that just styrene stock? Looking forward to the next video thanks again for your time!
It was styrene sheet that I cut into strips. It just helps strengthen up and overlap the butt joints.
