- Follow along as I try to make the licensed Toyota Xtra Cab body from RC4WD into something that looks like an actual Toyota. This particular build is for my friend Mike of @MikesRCWorld as a replica of his mini monster truck.

This is so impressive, my first rig 25yrs ago (still own it) was an ‘84 Toyota truck. I could wash it by feel alone knowing every body line so watching you painstakingly recreate them perfectly really hits me in the feelers. Nice work. 🤙🏼
Thank you! That’s a nice truck to hold on to. Wish I still had my ‘84 4Runner.
I never realized it was that inaccurate. The nerds in the "know" will love it! Can't wait for the paint!
I do it for the nerds!
A+ quality! RC4WD should hire you to design their licensed bodies 😉 have them do it right the first time!
Or at the very least let me eyeball them before production!
Great great Job my friend! You make it look so easy we all know that it is not!! I can not give you enough praise my man! You Josh and Matt need make vehicle all together!! You just amaze me and also inspire me to try new things! I will be trying ut up hard body soon not sure what one yet but! Soon haha but sir keep these awesome videos coming! I am sorry can’t help but tell you how good job you do! One day maybe I can get some money have you build me one you one off builds my friend I would cherish it omg ! Have great week my friend!, be safe on those roads as well !!
Thank you very happy you enjoy the videos. What kind of vehicle should the three of us collaborate on?
Ya know I am not sure really ,,, I am sure that whatever you all would choose ide love 💕 it! I’ll think on that !!
You can tell you do a lot of these. I don’t start seeing this level of detail until my third or fourth body. Great job!
I’ve done a few. Especially back in the day when they were converted from Tamiya Hilux bodies.
@@turksandjerps Those were the days... back when it was TLT axles, Bruiser frames, and Chino upgrades. Everyone is spoiled for choice now with 3D printing and all, but manufacturers still can't make an accurate Toyota smh
@@eagleeyes9770 so much truth to that. It can’t be that hard!? Can it..?
This is so immersive!! I want so badly to do this, but I don’t think I have the skills :-)
You don’t know until you try. Go ahead!
@@turksandjerps the xtra cab will be my next build! I’ll have to follow your video and see if I can get it right :)! Are those just styrene sheet you used for the rear fenders?
So nice of you show to us all the works and process behind one of your build. I love to see a body all primed and ready for paint!!!
Beautiful work
Getting the sides to match
Keen eyes 👀👍👍😎
Thanks, they’re close enough. Luckily we can’t see both sides at the same time. 😊
It’s always satisfying to watch a master at their craft working. Excellent job!
And when you get bored of that you can watch me try to build a truck 🙃 Thank you
Next level… you have golden hands my friend… you makes me remember earthquakes era😍🤓
My friend Headquake, a true master.
@@turksandjerps Yep Headquake… sorry my bad🤣
Oh wow I didn't realize there were so many misproportioned parts of this body. That's some impressive work making all those changes. Looks amazing now! Aloha from Maui 🤙
Nice truck hat. I approve of this reply and no commentary
BUT HOW WILL YOU KNOW WHAT I’M DOING?
@@turksandjerps YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING !? WHY I SEND YOU BODY IF YOU NOT GONNA TALK THROUGH VIDEO?? SOME EXPERT YOU ARE ALL EXPERTS I KNOW TALK IN RUclips VIDEOS. K BYE
@@MikesRCWorld NO REFUNEDS
Great video, as always! The thing that bugs me the most about the Xtra Cab/4Runner bodies from RC4WD is the A-pillar/front windshield. The A-pillar is way too thick and gets fatter the lower down you go and the windshield seems too short.
I didn’t go to this extent, but you Inspired me to use the 4runner body I had laying around to make a 2 door regular cab pickup. 👍🏻
That is awesome!
@@turksandjerps it turned out good enough for my patience lol. But seriously yours looks insane. I hd no idea how far off the body was compared to the 1:1… granted it’s still a nice body, the fact that you know yours is now way more accurate makes it even cooler.
Oh man that looks great! Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks again for watching!
Looks like a 84 pick up with a Cali bed! Looks dope
It's nice seeing all the different tools, materials, etc. you use, thanks for taking the time to film, edit and share this! I'm curious how many total hours (over how many days) you put into the changes on this body? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! This was the first one that I actually kept track of time. It was close to 20 hours over 3 weeks.
Next time, might I suggest taking the easier route and scratch building one, from scratch.
Where do I get scratch to make bodies with??
Amazing work as always!! Can I acquire a noob corrected xtracab?… I am looking to recreate the Rusty Nails KOH.
I have everything to complete the build except for a corrected body.
I’ve always wanted one of your rigs, but Mike always has the drop anytime a Toyota noob build goes up for sale lol
Once it’s in Mike’s collection it’s there for good haha
Doesn’t RC4WD sponsor that race car too? That would be a good body for metal masher to build, it’s pretty crinkled. I don’t know if id like to do another correction anytime soon. Such tedium. Mike is definitely a collector of n00b junk.

I'm "like" #100....I won!
What did you win?!
@@turksandjerps well..a major award!...it's from Italy I think!
Will this fit on a 12.3 wheelbase chassi?
No, 11.4”
is there a part 3?
No, I made the body for someone and it never got built up
what a shame, i was looking really good. @@turksandjerps
We need some commentary on what you felt was wrong with the body so we can better understand what you are fixing
Today’s homework assignment is to look at a picture of a real second gen Toyota and then look at the RC4WD version. Let’s see what you come up with.
@@turksandjerps keep being a weird mute then, have it your way
@@bsfunk44 Welcome to my RUclips channel where I can, in fact, have it my way.
It needs explanation then………
@@turksandjerps I like burger king, although im more of baconator kinda guy and i prefer my Toyota bodies not have a shelf for a front fender, a fubard windshield frame, and in accurate body lines.
