I wish you had been my teacher when I was in cosmetology 22 years ago. I never pursued my career in hair because my confidence in cutting was low. My teacher was so old school with the techniques she taught and they never made sense to me. You make it so clear! Love your videos
I think the prevalence of video tutorials has changed education to a greater degree than the calibre of teacher - although I definitely agree that Summer is a superb tutor!
I've learned a lot with you better than a beauty school. So very grateful to you. Thank's for showing how to connect face framing with short curtain bangs in thick hair so straight to the point. Blessings for you beauty!
When I was in the business I was never given proper training so I struggled-and I'm also a disabled military veteran with back issues so I had to stop doing hair-MAN I wish I had a trainer like you!
I'm getting tired of new stylists flat out refusing to give me bangs because I have a small forehead/low hairline. #1 it's just hair they'll grow out & #2 I've had them before and they look good. They are just started further back and not too thick. I think its weird to tell someone they can't have bangs when they just need to be tailored to the face/head you are working on. That is my dear diary for the day.
I agree. 4 tips I've learned: 1 Ask someone that has bangs you like and go to their stylist. 2 go to a salon and if theres a few stylists ask the stylists who did their hair. 3 Sometimes the ones that have the worst hair are the best and they just haven't had time to do their own. 4 see if the salon has online portfolios on social media or their website if you are less extroverted. Lol
They straight up tell you "no, we refuse to do that" even though thats what you asked for? Never heard of a stylist flat out refusing to cut a customer's hair the way they want it cut, even if they personally think it won't look good. I know stylists will advise against doing something and explain why they don't recommend it, but to flat out refuse is unusual. Especially for new stylists since they're working on building up their clientele. It doesn't make sense for them to intentionally upset customers like that.
You are seriously so good at this. Thank you ❤ Actually, this is an edit here. I think you are such an intuitive teacher. You answer all the questions and are better than the instructors I had when I went to beauty school.
Beautiful work, Summer! Can’t wait to try the both bang techniques on fine or thick haired clients. It made me want a. Bang so bad. I have less hair density around my face
Thank you! I tried a couple other curtain bang videos that were a disaster (but it grew back 😂) doing this one, it turned out very nice, even with my unpredictable waviness)
Thank you so much for also focusing on cutting thin hair - awesome material!!! Would you mind putting the save function on, as I would like to save your video for future reference and I I don't see this option available. Thanks for doing what you do so well!
The save function is always there, creators don't have the power to disable it. If you click on the 3 dots (drop-down menu), you'll see either "save" or "save to playlist", they're the same. If you're watching a video on your phone and don't see it, scroll to the right where the like/dislike, share, remix etc. buttons are and it should be the last option. Alternatively, you can "like" the video and then search through your history of liked videos later to find it, then save it by clicking on the 3 dots to the right of the video thumbnail. The dots are always next to the video thumbnails so you don't need to click on an actual video to save it. Hope this helps.
Dear Summer could you tell me if you have or could do a tutorial on how to cut the hair style that you yourself have in this video , please? Is it the same one you just done on the maniken? I realy enjoy watching your videos. Thank you and all the best in the future! Inita
I don’t know what Summer’s gorgeous haircut is called, but maybe you can play several of her videos on your phone and take screenshots a few times to show your hairdresser?
It's just a layered haircut with minimal face framing. My inspo was a butterfly cut but I was to afraid to cut more layers. I've since cut more and am loving it!
Hi Styles By Summer got My hair Cut and Dyed Green Last Friday and it’s a Awesome Green and it’s My Favorite color and it look Really great on me did you Name your Mannequins ? Because they are pretty
Although I don't understand everything you say, I really like your handiwork. Do people understand each other when they don't understand each other? ))
Sadly, I cannot wear curtain fringe because I have an oblong dace shape with high forehead. It makes my face looks even longer. Tbh, I don't know what haircut to get cause my hair is wavy, thin and fine hair. Somehow, there's nobody in my country, Croatia, that knows what would suit me the best 😭 Any suggestions? My final goal is to, as it's the only thing that suits me, get volume on the sides, to balance my long face. And I don't want long hair as it just weights it down and I'd need a ton of styling products to hold my waves just to get to day two or three. Any suggestions? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!
What about parting your hair to the side and some bangs? I have a similar face shape and I've found that curtain bangs or hanging no bangs at all seem to elongate my face. Parting it to the side with a few face framing layers and some bangs balances the face out pretty well.
Hello-I have A LOT of fine hair(so much fine hair that it's almost as if I have thick hair) I also have a natural side part. So my question is do I still do a disconnect & if I want curtain bangs do I cut it straight down the middle of I have a natural side part?
question when you cut the more blended curtain bangs do you cut the whole triangle overdirecting to the other side or is just because you are teaching 2 different type or curtain bangs
You seemed to make the finer side even thinner that the thicker side. Not a fan. That’s why I NEVER layer, it always comes out way too thin. Stay away from layering if you have fine hair
Super strzyżenie i jak zwykle wytłumaczone w prosty sposób, bardziej podoba mi się grzywka po lewej stronie główki. Dzięki Summer! Pozdrowienia z Polski!
Instead of using mannequins you should give free haircuts in exchange for the you tube video you can create! It’s kind da like how Al Bladz does his video free yard make overs for video of it. I only thot of it because you kept calling the inanimate object her…Anyway this was really great👍🏻I like your skill😁❤️
Please look at Chynna Phillips Baldwin's channel. She has long, thin, fine hair and a very high forehead. I look a lot like her and bangs never look quite right on me but I want to hide that wide expanse of forehead. Maybe you could do a photoshop makeover on her or use a balding mannequin!

I tried it and it is perfect. Thanks a lot! So many videos out there that do nothing but harm... I'm keeping this bangs for a long time! ❤🎉

Plz do a 90s layer haircut that has been trending everywhere ✨💗

Hi Summer do you have a full video of the curtain bang for the more blended one??
Hey Summer do you have any tutorials on a really short bob cut for thin hair?? Thank you in advance ❤
I've had such a love/hate relationship with bangs through the years!
Love your haircut. Can you please tell me what kind of cut this is? Thanks!
Your volume blow out video left me shook!Thank u!,
Thanks Summer. Been wanting to start growing mine out more. This is perfect. Merry Christmas.
You as well!

I have a video coming out next week, trimming my hair!
The BEST hair tutorial ever!!!! 🎉
Yay! Thank you!
Just subscribed and wanted to say you are such a great teacher! Loving YOUR haircut, too. How would I describe what your haircut is to a hairdresser?
I don’t know what Summer’s gorgeous haircut is called, but maybe you can play several of her videos on your phone and take screenshots a few times to show your hairdresser?
Always love her tutorial videos.
I love your hair cut . Can you tell me what I need ask for ?

Bangs are the basis of all modern hair styles, no? Love them!
I love bangs!
Christmas came early 🎉❤ thank you again for such amazing tutorial ❤ happy holidays summer !
🥰🥰🥰. So sweet, thank you for watching!
I so wish I could have bangs, my part is almost non existent anymore it’s gotten so thin that I don’t have much to spare for bangs 😢
I'm obsessed with short wispy bangs
What is the best bangs for medium curly hair?
I'll have to show this to Mindy because she was thinking about doing something like this or how your hair is now.
Awesome, she'd look great with some sort of bang/face frame!
You are sooooo good. I learn a lot from you.
I like the finer type one!
Excellent video. Have a a grea day.
Hi Styles By Summer got My hair Cut and Dyed Green Last Friday and it’s a Awesome Green and it’s My Favorite color and it look Really great on me did you Name your Mannequins ? Because they are pretty
Oh how fun!! I do not name my mannequins but maybe I should start doing so!
Your hair color 😍 want!!!✨👏👏
Looks amazing
Although I don't understand everything you say, I really like your handiwork. Do people understand each other when they don't understand each other? ))
Thank you for your good tutorial, please put your description on the page in English.
Thanks 🌹🍀
Such amazing stylist!! Thank you for teaching the way you do 😌 xo
You are so welcome! I'm glad you enjoy!
New to your channel. I find myself working on my wigs
Sadly, I cannot wear curtain fringe because I have an oblong dace shape with high forehead. It makes my face looks even longer.

Would you cut the curtain bangs any differently for someone who always wears glasses?
Summer. Can you share what your haircut is?
Hola quedó muy lindo felicitaciones saludos desde Guatemala
Do you have a salon? I'm in SW Florida, but would consider driving for a good cut.
I love curtain bangs.
hey summer i am winter 😀😍 your work is amazing ☺️ and uh too...
Thank you so much 😀
How does this work with a widows peak? Or do you offset it?
hi summer what sheers are you using please??
The brand is Sharkfin! I have a link with a promo code in the description of the video!

What do you suggest if someone has uneven eyebrows because of a stroke or a scar?
Does the same rule apply to super curly hair?
Looks good on others, but I can't have hair in front of my eyes. I like to see and not get poked in the eyes. :D
LMFAO you may want to take another look at your title. Hilarious
Love!!
Un lado no lo corto de la misma medida ! No sé si fue a drede pero me gustó más el lado más largo
It's two different way to cut bangs.
Thank you SO much!!❤❤❤
Hello. Please what is the name of the haircut in this video?
Superb job!! Well done! And thank you for sharing))👍
question when you cut the more blended curtain bangs do you cut the whole triangle overdirecting to the other side or is just because you are teaching 2 different type or curtain
bangs
You would still do it in two sections. So one side first, then they other side.
Do I have to part my hair in the middle to b able to wear curtain bangs?
Pls make videos on cuts that suit a square face
I need to buy a wig any website recommendation ?
Where do i find somsone as good as uou here in Colombia man 😩
Could you show us how to do a short angled bob please ❤

You are amazing, I wish you could cut my hair!

Where do you get your mannequin from?
This one is from Pivot Point.
Hola, me fascinan tus videos e aprendido bastante, pero quiero pedirte si puedes poner subtitulos x favor.
Amazing
Hola, me encantan tus videos, pero podrían subtitular en español ?
Are you taking clients?
I don’t understand how to hold your fingers to do this on yourself
You seemed to make the finer side even thinner that the thicker side. Not a fan. That’s why I NEVER layer, it always comes out way too thin. Stay away from layering if you have fine hair
