Thank you so much for such valuable info. Everyone talks about ALL-i and IPB just repeating what they learned from Canon. Nobody does a "real talk" about what is missing on the new Canon models. Thank you man!
@@ahojahojish From Canon's Site: "In all movie recording quality settings, the EOS 90D records strictly in MP4; the MOV setting previously available on the EOS 80D cannot be set on the 90D."
Thank you for showing how to get the install firmware on the menu. That was driving me crazy. I just am so thankful for RUclipsrs like you that help people out. I called Canon today and apparently when I plug in an external mic through the microphone Jack it does not turn off the internal mic and they told me it was something wrong with my brand new camera. I did a full factory reset of the camera that didn't fix it so I'm going to try to reflash. I used to fix phones for about 8 years mostly Samsung Galaxy phones and sometimes factory reset and flashing from work and fix a lot of issues. I just hate that I bought this camera in specific lenses for shooting video and I don't have any audio to go with it now because it sounds like crap. Thank you again for this upload
coming from a 70D this is what stopped me from upgrading, they give a little and they take a little every single time. let me guess, they will release a 91D with all-i? or will they forget about everyone on the ef-s system and focus only on the mirror-less...
For a $1200 camera, I think they included the maximum they can. I had the chance to shoot on this camera and it is exceptional. Easy to handle, very comfortable even after hours of shooting. ( Works very well with heavy lens, it has a great balance) . Good camera.
I’m still waiting to see what someone has to say about the video quality you can get out of this camera using an external recorder such as the atomos ninja v
I have an Atomos Shogun Inferno but I haven’t put down any real footage yet. Looking to in the next couple of weeks. With just a quick couple of short recording, the picture is awesome of ProRes 422 4K. I’m still figuring out the best interface setup for both devices.
@@NatesEscape Thank You. I found it pretty quickly when I bought my 90D in January. I love this feature. I used to have a Sony HDR-HC7 Mini dv camcorder that had a slow smooth record feature that would record for 3 seconds at 120fps. then slow it down into a 12 second piece of footage. Except it downgraded the quality from hd to sd. At least the 90D keeps it hd and I can record for 7 full minutes.
I purchased a new Canon 90D and it came with firmware v.1.1.2. installed. It has all of these same 4K & 24fps recording. Canon only has version 1.1.1 on their site. Anyone else have the version 1.1.2.?
Yes, just watch out if you have lights in your scene as in the UK the power grid is 50hz (PAL), NTSC however is 60hz. In short UK lights flicker at 50x per second, so if you use NTSC it will not match and you will get FLICKERING in your footage.
My 90d is not showing that tab to see or update firmware anywhere, I tried video and camera, tried P mode and still nothing, it's no where to be found, help plz, I have 4k 24fps already, 1080 24fps, 1080 60fps but no 120, this how the camera came brand new
They wont add all-i to the 90d, You gotta remember the 90d is a 32 megapixel sensor not a 24 megapixel sensor like the 80d. Look at the design of the 90d and their's some math here too The 90d shoots 24,25,30 IPB 1080 at 30mbps,, it shoots 24,25, and 30 4k IPB at 120mbps, if canon had put in all-i in 1080 the bit rate would be the same as IPB 4k(120 mbps)if not even bigger and if they had all-i in 4k the bitrate would be like 400-500mbps, they would have to have two sd-card slots, or bigger sd card slots, it wouldn't be the same camera
@@TopicRentalsAuckland Having said that I think the cropped 4k on the 90d has a higher vivid tonality then the 80d and decent detail. At 32 megapixels It's still the current broadcast quality even though it's IPB it still more then meets the conditions

Thanks Antonio Meres really appreciate the feedback
hopefully Canon will listen again and give us the All i...Good video.
Thank you mike
Thanks for the info. Never realized it only comes with IPB
Reuel T I dont understand your comment. So does have all-i or not??

With you 100% on All-I
I've bought the 90D recently (made in 2023) with the 1.1.3 firmware and it only does 25p in 4K
Updating to firmware 1.1.1 removes HDMI Clean output? I don't see page 5 in shooting tab to get to HDMI Info option
Would love a new firmware update to fix this and as long as they are at it, why not give us 60fps 4K.. and auto focus in 120, 1080p
Firmware isn't going to get you 4D at double the frame rate or AF at 120.

The first minute saved so much of my time ☝️
Thats great! the auto focus is even better
You mean accuracy or tracking? For birds in flight?
Where is the 120fps mode that was supposed to be included in the upgrade?
That's a seperate setting, you have to go into high frame rate mode it's definitely there, just in a different menu

People, one key feature that is missing is Dual Pixel Autofocus at 120fps/100fps (High frame rate). What the fuck are they doing leaving that out?
Cornering the Market. Forcing you to want to buy the more expensive cameras. Put simply... They are a bunch of greedy bastards.
