Buckle up for a wild ride here on championship Sunday at the Idlewild Open presented by Dynamic Discs. Our chase card has less than a handful of strokes to make up on the leader in Paul McBeth and although that might seem next to impossible at most events, Idlewild is just that - wild.
Eagle McMahon had the hottest opening round on Thursday shooting -11 but then only followed up with a -4 during day 2. We'll see what him and the rest of the card can find their rhythm or if the course will again show it's teeth.
Thank you to Nate Perkins for stepping in during the final round of commentary. Nate graciously offered to help during rounds 1 and 2 as well but with the timing of filming and editing, it didn't work out but I'm honored to talk it up with him for our final 18 holes.

Three tournaments in a row for Eagle! I played with him at the B-tier tournament in Alabama between DGLO and Idlewild... he's super chill, super friendly, and super focused on becoming the best in the world. And I don't think anyone can stop him
I think in a few years he will take over on McBeth, the only other who could counter him is Heimburg, but I think eagle is better
Eagle has every shot. So much fun to watch.

I was bouncing back and forth per hole between this and the Jomez lead card coverage. Fun way to avoid spoilers and keep up the suspense. Great camera work here, good commentary with Terry and Nate. :D

Eagle is playing absolutely lights out this year. I don’t see anybody being able beat him very often, even if their name starts with Paul.

Well played, dear sir. I always look forward to this time of year so the kids and I can follow our favorite players around our favorite course. This year, I am glad you covered for us. Hope to see you next year and do an elbow-bump. What you do takes real dedication.
After winning 2 straight majors without checking the scores, Eagle may never need to check them again.. Dude is on another level right now.

I agree with what Nate had to say at 15:42 about woods golf making the players visualize a line they've never thrown and execute that shot on the spot with tournament pressure. Great commentary from these two. Especially impressed by Nate's growth as a commentator. Nice work!

Safe to say, disc golf is really 90% mental game and 10% skills.
Look how Eagle play recently, very calm and collective. He knows what to do next after a bad shot. He calculated his options and find what best for him.
If you put your emotions (mostly anger) after bad shots, it will blurring your decisions making.

Eagle played a great round, hands down, no doubt. With that out of the way, I am really confused why prior to watching this, people were saying that Eagle played quite possibly the best round ever recorded on video. In my opinion, it is not even remotely close to one of the best rounds I've watched.. After the 6th hole or so, it felt like he was always scrambling and needing to make circles edge and beyond type putts to make birdies or save par. Am I crazy here? Paul struggled for sure, but he knew he was needing to go birdie-birdie finish for a chance at the win and obviously pushed too much to cause him to finish poorly. If Paul does manage to go birdie-birdie, we have a playoff and possibly Paul wins. At that point, do we even talk about Eagle's round/tournament being all that good?

I was lucky enough to watch 2 different people park hole 10. It was very impressive to say the least. And one of them threw a Thunderbird at it lol.

Boulder, Long's Peak and Mile High clubs have seen him grow up. He'll play with our gomer round at Valmont every now and again on his way to grandma's place...
