- I have sold clothes on a NUMBER of different reselling platforms, and in today's video, I'm going to break down which reselling platforms are worth your time, and which one's really aren't. I will only speak about reselling platforms that I have personal experience with, and hopefully you learn some great reselling tips as well! So if you want to learn a little more about Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, Kidizen, Shopify, and Tradesy, this is the reseller video for you!

Can you do an updated video for 2023 of selling platforms you prefer?
I love Depop. The type of items that sell are for the young, trendy crowd so you can’t just sell any old thing, but they are a polite group of buyers who have money to spend freely. They are amazing about leaving positive reviews. All my buyers have been absolute sweethearts.
Ebay, Mercari, Etsy, Poshmark, and offer up. Your videos are awesome.

please do a video on setting up a shipping system. This is my biggest roadblock to selling. I always lose money on shipping. Mainly because I dont kniw how to ship...

mercari flagged me years ago, banned me, and confiscated over $300 in sales that had already shipped because they stated I listed a counterfeit bag. The MK bag had all sales receipts and tags in photos and was clearly listed as MK for Marshals with a Marshals sales tag and receipt. I fought for over a year with mercari and threatened legal action for stealing $300 but ultimately could not afford a plane ticket to appear in court in Mercari's business licensed state. To this day I remain banned and out $300 over a purse with tag purchased at $249 and listed for $40 used *eye roll*. Mercari gets the biggest L from me
I had a local sale on Mercari. It was convenient because it was diapers and I didn’t have to worry about size and weight of a box!!! I just put it in a reusable tote bag and a Uber driver picked it up from my doorstep, and half hour later I got rated and paid!!
So, are you saying Mercari pays Uber to pick up your items and drop them off if they are local??

Which platform now in 2022 going into 2023 would you recommend for a COMPLETE beginner as far as learning to ship, list, and price items? I'm afraid to start because I don't know where to begin or what to do. I'm going to rewatch your inventory video. Do you recommend I inventory everything before I list it or inventory as I go? I'm not sure which approach to take. Thank you for any advice you can provide.

Thanks for the info. I wondered how Spotify worked. I started with eBay selling coins. Shipping was always first class so it was east. I sold some Frozen Castles this year and wow shipping is so expensive. Saved quite a bit with Pirate ship. I have only had a few sales on PM so far since September. I am up to only 30 listings. I hear at least 200 listings to make regular sales. Enjoy your Holidays

I get a lot more sales on eBay and Mercari than on posh, and I spend a ton of time sharing on posh and trying to market my closet. Last week I finally decided to do a half off sale and stuff started moving on Posh, but it kind of made me sick to make so little money on some really nice items! But it’s all about moving stuff out.

Great video! After a year on Poshmark with the latest issues I have been trying to figure out which platform to give more attention to and this is the comparison I needed. Sadly I no longer have an eBay account bc I hadn’t been on in years, so I will be a newbie on there if I go there. Lots of scams on sellers there particularly “new” ones.
Hi, my first time listening to you AND agree with you… I have been selling (small numbers) on eBay for over 10 years but took a year off when they switched from using PayPal… when they asked for my bank account! I finally opened a separate bank account and started selling again. They make it hard on selling clothes because of all the item specifics. I also sell on Poshmark and like it except the 20%… plus I do not understand some of their. Bundling, etc.
I'm an ebayer...Poshmark sounds So complicated!! What a drag to have to be resharing constantly. I thought all those sharing bots are illegal? Guess I should try it to figure all that out...sigh.
This is a helpful video, especially the part about waiting to add new platforms! I am going to learn all I can from you, get comfortable on PM and then consider branching out. My phone was clearly listening during your video because Curtsy popped into my feed this morning. Any chance you have an updated video about your platform experience? 23:50 I have found the same thing with Mercari! They're somewhat slow with getting back to you with emails, but somehow I've gotten to them faster by tweeting them rather than an email!

I do Poshmark, Mercari and Facebook. I am also doing eBay, BUT when you are a new eBay seller they put you on a limit. Mine is 5. Ugh!!!! So I guess once they sell, they'll give me more. But.....I have to sell them first and I haven't yet, so it's frustrating.

Poshmark got back to me in a very timely manner. Glad I didn't have any problem. I'm not a reseller but I love to collect handbags and different Cole tables.

I kind of disagree with you on Facebook. If you are active there and renew, delete & relist, and run promotions on your listings, it is worth it. In the past few days, I have sold older inventory that I put on a small sale or renewed. The time of day that you renew listings also affects sales too I have found out. I really like selling there

I was disappointed, I really was hoping you’d talk about how much each platform charges the seller and take that into comparison.
I only sell on eBay -- been on there since 1999 -- and occasionally also Craigslist for in-person selling.

I’ve been selling on eBay for 16 years, back in the day when sellers could actually leave negative feedback for buyers 😜 Facebook has taken 1st place for me, but I agree, they are growing fast and there are kinks that need to be worked out. I do love Posh for the shipping, but the 20% is sooo high and I get so sick of seriously lowball offers-I get more on Posh than anywhere else. If I could combine fees the reasonable offers (different mindset of buyers??) I get on eBay and the shipping ease of Posh, that would be so dreamy!!
Vinted works perfectly for me. Easy negotiation and most buyers are easy to deal with. Easy to get good reviews.

I had that same problem with Pastor VA when I would close my laptop. I learned that there's a setting for the laptop where you can set for it not to turn off when the lid is closed. This way it continues running and you can have the lid closed all the while. I also changed my sleep settings so that it doesn't go to sleep ever. 😊

if you would've asked me this last month, i would've said poshmark, ebay and then mercari...... i changed a method of how i was doing something and now i'd say it's more like mercari, poshmark, ebay lol (planning on doing a youtube video on this soon)

Hello from brand new subscriber. I have quick question about pricing. When you post the same item on multiple resell apps do you adjust the price so you net out the same amount from what site sales the item? I know the fees vary from the different sites.
I tried to sell a TV on Ebay and immediately got flagged because of the price and because I was a new member... I'm still trying to decide if I'm gonna give it another shot I feel like Ebay has sooo monopolized the resale market to the point I have to learn 😔

Great video! Another con of Tradesy is they allow returns for any reason. I’ve heard some “buyers” use the site to “rent” stuff they like & then return after they’ve worn it..

Hi!, What platform do you recommend to sell vintage (1970's thru 1980's) fashion Jewelry?
How do you feel about Depop? I had a buyer say she never got her package after 2 months. But the tracking said it got to her town and state. USPS just never scanned it as delivered so I got charged back and I have to take the hit. She didn’t even reach out until 2 months after I sent it. It was a $110 bathing suit. I know for a fact some buyers intercept the parcel and sometimes it doesn’t get scanned as delivered. Poshmark had my back when this happened but Depop took it out of my funds that had not even cleared yet.
Tip pay for your customer to sign for the package that is how you beat a charge back.

I have tried and loved list perfectly. However unless you are making pretty good money doing this it’s a fee I don’t need. I’m trying to make the most profit that I can and to me this is a little pricey

I want to sell on a platform that doesn't report anything. Selling locally seems to be my only option until these new rules are changed.

They have groups for ur area too besides Facebook Marketplace if u want to do local. I live in Louisiana so mine is like Cajun swap shop. I have made so much money doing local.

Facebook use to be okay for me. Now I only seem to sell anything when they offer free shipping. And the offer to ship locally on Mercari isn’t an option for me.
I also wish Mercari would allow you to turn on a vacation mode. I just got back from visiting my family and I had to remember to stop listing, promoting, and sending offers the week before in an effort to decrease the chance of sales. I still got two, but they were yesterday and today, so I’ll still be able to send them on time.
You can disable all your listing on Mercari that’s what I did when I went on vacation
I honestly didn’t think about that until the day before I came back home. Oh, well.

Marketplace is a joke I never got paid for anything I shipped and there is no one to talk to about it the support inbox is a joke
NEVER SHIP ANYTHING that has NOT yet been PAID FOR!!!! That is RULE #1 right out of the starting gate with ANY kind of online selling!!! Also NEVER SHIP anything valuable without INSURING it, which should be BUILT INTO the price of the item for sale. If a prospective buyer wants a valuable item badly enough, they will AGREE to covering the cost of shipping insurance!!

I use eBay because its easy but fees ways high, I sell puzzles as hobby but make zero profit, each sell I maybe loose a buck or two; just bought way too many during the pandemic. I have a theory that right now since interest rates so high, a recession around the corner and amazon has free shipping, not many even looking right now at my stuff. 🥴 and the part about the people who you say should go find a hole😁 i get.that!. one person purchased a puzzle and after receiving it requested a refund saying she purchased wrong one, my site says I don't give refunds. I got the request one night when I woke with insomnia, Probably my 10th sell ever and thought immediately I'd have to pay for return shipping so denied.. she gave negative feedback, I saw she had a store on Mercari... so she knew the consequences of the neg feedback.. that feedback sat there for a year and i was so bothered by this as except for her I had 100% positive .. I actually reached out a couple days later after investigating options to offer her a 100 % refund but that she would have to pay for return shipping... not a word was heard back.. this again was just a hobby and she New she could've turned around easily enough and sold on her Mercari site this Peter Pan puzzle ! Grrr and hissss.🙄
