Leap Year is one of my favs. I love how girlfreind is determined to ask her boyfriend to marry her. He suffers hell for it. Only to find out the real love was right next to her all along. Awweeee. I do enjoy when she suffers so much. Especially at the airport when the Irish desk clerks gaslight her about changing the weather to her plane could leave on time. PRICELESS.
This is such a great movie. The ending especially, because even though she got her freedom back she might have lost herself in the process. She had to win by becoming the one she hates.
What's great about this version of the story(amongst the dozens which have been made), it's the only time when the Invisible person is evil before they become Invisible. Which makes it scarier. When a villian finds more power. Before it's always been a good person who turns evil.
This hits home because my girlfriends last boyfriend was like that, he didnt care a damn about her but for whatever reason he still wanted to control her, now the thing is they did have two kids together but they were never married, im just glad she finally took the kids and got out of that town, as soon as the kids graduate and are on their own she will be here with me but at least for the time she is a lot safer now that she is with her family, this is your best reaction yet, thank you.
Mental and emotional abuse are so much more damaging than people realize .... you always hear the ignorant comment 'you don't look abused' ..... they have no freaking clue!! Glad to hear she got out
there are so many things i would do to help me "see" an invisible man. 1. water on the floor (see footsteps) 2. baby powder in hand at all times 3. fire extinguishers within reach 4. paint balloons 5. dry leaves on the floor (very crunchy sound) 6. even cereal on the floor so i hear the crunch 7. CCTV with thermal covering every inch of the house 8. thermal Motion detectors 9. Infa red sensors My house would be like trying to enter forte Knox undetected.
Burt Gummer : "Baby powder for five years, a thousand gallons of water, CCTV, paint balloons, fire extinguishers. Dry leaves... Underground... God damn stalkers. "
That's why the scenes of her getting over the anxiety is so important to the film. She finally regained a part of her older self and didn't want to appear crazy to others again. She was trying to best him without loosing herself, only to realise she had to become him to finally beat him.
What a chilling portrayal of the dread and powerlessness of domestic abuse situations. Diving right in with an opening scene of Elisabeth Moss preparing to escape is such a fantastic introduction to her character. Her dire dire situation of being stalked with no one to believe you.
These are my favorite kind of productions... the ones that (through writing, acting, editing) *truly* make the viewer feel what the people in the movie feel.
Fun Fact: Horror movies are actually good for those who suffer from chronic anxiety. Also, the more horror movies you watch the more resilient you become and their fearful effect on you lessens. It's just like building up a tolerance for spicy food. Persons who watch horror tend to cope better with real-life fearful events such as the pandemic. So horror is actually good for you.
I cope fine with the pandemic, have watched a fair amount of horror but still have either PTSD or CPTSD and social phobia but maybe that's not what you mean.
Your synchronized blanket pull to your mouths after moving the popcorn bowl was pretty adorable. I was going to suggest some movies way worse than this in hopes of them getting onto the polls but your sister seems really sweet and I don't want to corrupt her outlook. Definitely keep the duo reactions going though. You two play off of each other very well.
If Cassie is the older sister then I truly enjoyed how the little sister Carly reached for her for support before the paint splash scene... It was the most adorable thing ever!!!! :) @18:56
This was THE scariest movie I've seen in ages and the way they created the tension was brilliant. Elizabeth Moss should have gotten an award for her performance
10:07 Is it just me or you both missed the knife moving "by itself" after she left it on the counter? It's why the pan caught on fire: the guy was there and he cranked the kitchen fire all the way up.
The original Invisible Man is a classic that starred Claude Raines. It is part of the 1930's Horror films that set the standard for the genre. They are the ones that last forever. You should see them to know the great men who created the genre. They are part of any horror fan's required viewing.
My sister has been in one of these relationships for about 12 years. She’s a shell of a human with vague memories of being a whole person. We were best friends and it’s still really hard. It’s like she dead and our family is haunted by her ghost when she texts or calls once a year.
I was a police officer for many years and worked too many DV cases. It always broke my heart when we’d ask them “is there someone, family you can go stay with?” We always saw their heads drop & whimper out “no”. Truly brutal having to leave them there knowing what’s happening but can’t do anything because nothing could be proven. These terrorist isolate wives from family & friends & it’s just horrible I’m so sorry she has to live that way
I grew up with the sound of Claude Rains's voice in my ears due to an album of 45rpm records of his reading bible stories for children, so his movies that I saw when I was a bit older resonated quite strongly with me. One of the greatest film debuts of all time was his The Invisible Man (1933) which required its male lead to not be seen at all, only heard, until a brief facial reveal at the very end. Imagine any egotistical actor today having to put up with the same requirement. As to the remake, Elisabeth Moss could win acting awards by simply tying her shoelaces, but the film is a modern day polemic, unlike the original which was a giant step forward in cinema special effects history.
When we go to or watch movies with our friends, we are all eating popcorn and talking to each other, so it's normal for people. There is nothing wrong with you eating popcorn during your reactions.
I feel like Cassie and Carlie would have enjoyed watching 'Monster Squad.' It's appropriately Halloween themed and very cute. It's right up their alley.
The original Westworld movie from 1973 would be a fantastic reaction video. It's from the author of Jurassic Park Michael Crichton who also directed it
Cassie and Carly, that was a perfect reaction! When the people who made this film made it (thank you Leigh Whannell!), they were thinking of reactions JUST LIKE YOURS!! You demonstrated exactly what this film was intended to do. That was a treat! OK, the original film is a classic Universal Pictures Monster film, from 1933. It is a Black & White Horror film and it's great! Now, you have to accept that it is an older film, from a different time, with themes and a story-line that made sense in the 1930's. But the performances are excellent and the special effects were ground-breaking for the time. It's a classic and it's really fun. You should check it out!
You two reacting to movies is one of the cutest things I've ever seen. I love y'all's reactions so genuine. I think you two maybe some of my favorite reaction people ❤
One of my favorite movies. I like that it wasn't supernatural or anything. I like that it was a suit and not some magical powers or something like that that made him invisible.
The first half of this film has so many creepy little details - like at 10:10 the knife "falls" off the kitchen counter, but never hits the floor. Because it didn't fall - Adrian picked it up, and then turned up the stove to burn her breakfast.
I loved this movie so much. Such an awesome way of portraying the real gaslighting that abusers do. The original from the 30s is fantastic too. And I love your editor for counting the “Oh my goshes.” 🤣
You and your sister do such good reactions together! Cute and funny. This was a really good version of the Invisible Man theme. The first one that I know if is The Invisible Man from 1933 with Claude Rains. Still a good one. The story was originally written by H.G. Wells.
There are a few more on this level which I think you would enjoy : Devil's Advocate - Al Pacino and Keanu (with a stunning performance from Charlize Theron) and The Cell with Vince D'Onofrio and Jennifer Lopez.
While you're still doing scary movies for October, you should react to, "Interview With A Vampire", starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Christian Slater and Kirstin Dunst. I think you'll like it!!
I find it absolutely hilarious how they both get scared and hide under the covers . Honestly I shouldn't be laughing because I do the same thing, but seeing others do it is funny to me .
I really love the "Oh My Gosh!" counters in the corners! Heck, that is so flippin' hilarious!! I love when Carly & Cassie watch scary movies together...I'd love if they watched more , but I think they would have mental breakdowns if they watched too many...but it still would result in some great reaction videos...so I guess they have to choose between great reaction videos and mental health...I think the choice is very clear hahaha!!!
To answer your question - the original was made in 1933! It has nothing in common with this film (other than the idea of a man making himself invisible). That fact was enough to shock audiences 90 years ago. :-) If you do ever watch it, the main things which hold up are the remarkable effects (considering it was 1933) & the acting of Claude Rains as the invisible man...entirely with his voice. Actually you might enjoy it more that the new version...it won't scare you & there are quite a few laughs. (Also if you've seen "Titanic", the old woman who plays "old Rose" is the female lead in the '33 Invisible Man...a MUCH younger Gloria Stuart)
Omg! I think they missed the knife sliding off the kitchen island at @10:10. Eeeeeek! It isn't even a nitpick; it's just something that's so creepy to notice a second watch through. I love this channel! What great content!
It's that moment when you catch a glimmer off to the side of your vision, a passing shadow or light refracted but not reflected that you know he is in the room with you, waiting for you to exhale. And you wonder if you can get under the sheets fast enough or out the door quick enough to avoid the icy cold touch from the man who isn't there.

This is such a great movie. The ending especially, because even though she got her freedom back she might have lost herself in the process. She had to win by becoming the one she hates.
Hollow Man is another good film with a transparent antagonist.
Love your reaction videos! You both seem like such genuinely good people, it's really refreshing! 😊👍.
The oh-my-gosh counter is brilliant! 😄👍
61 "OH MY GOSH!"'s this episode, which makes you wonder how may gosh's these two have left?
@@patmccallum2660 The ohmygoshes reset at the start of the next day. lol
What's great about this version of the story(amongst the dozens which have been made), it's the only time when the Invisible person is evil before they become Invisible. Which makes it scarier. When a villian finds more power. Before it's always been a good person who turns evil.
You two have so much chemistry! It is twice the fun.
Glad to hear she got out
@@trhansen3244 Neither one is a good situation ....
The way you two gush-talk about them falling in love down the road just makes me want y'all to do boatloads of rom-coms. Non. Stop.
:)
there are so many things i would do to help me "see" an invisible man.
1. water on the floor (see footsteps)
2. baby powder in hand at all times
3. fire extinguishers within reach
4. paint balloons
5. dry leaves on the floor (very crunchy sound)
6. even cereal on the floor so i hear the crunch
7. CCTV with thermal covering every inch of the house
8. thermal Motion detectors
9. Infa red sensors
My house would be like trying to enter forte Knox undetected.
What's revealing is how much you've thought this through ..... I can't judge, I'd have fake spiderwebs across all the doorways .......
@@lauriivey7801 thinking just comes naturally to me.
Most of those are done (from what I remember) in the Verhoeven/ Kevin Bacon version!
Watch the original "The Invisible Man"--a lot more comedy in it. Honest. Claude Rains is amazing.
AND, Claude Rains plays Capt. Renault in Casablanca...🎯
@@gerrylonghair1924 And he was amazing in that!
And for a 400 year old movie (!), the special effects were pretty amazing.
@@Divamarja_CA Uhh, I'm guessing that deliberate hyperbole. I'm hoping.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks No, clearly this person literally believes that film was made four centuries ago.
The "oh my gosh" scoreboard
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's genius
What a chilling portrayal of the dread and powerlessness of domestic abuse situations. Diving right in with an opening scene of Elisabeth Moss preparing to escape is such a fantastic introduction to her character. Her dire dire situation of being stalked with no one to believe you.
These are my favorite kind of productions... the ones that (through writing, acting, editing) *truly* make the viewer feel what the people in the movie feel.
You two reacting to horror is EVERYTHING!
The moment where you cautiously take the popcorn away and then both slowly arm yourselves with your blankets is priceless.
when they do that you know serious s*** is going to happen
I liked how they lingered on certain camera shots to make you wonder if Adrian's there or not.
"don't shut the door?"
"NO, don't go out there" 😂😂
You both are a blast 😜
Thanks for including all of us!! 🤗
Leigh Whannell who wrote and directed this is a guy who I grew up watching on Australian TV. He also did “Upgrade” which is excellent.
@@Mansplainer2099-jy8ps I didn't say it was a cure. I only said it's good for chronic anxiety. But yes, what you mention is not the same thing.
So *that's* why I like horror movies and scary documentaries!
Tender
This was THE scariest movie I've seen in ages and the way they created the tension was brilliant. Elizabeth Moss should have gotten an award for her performance
This is literally the sweetest "I hate him so much" I've ever seen. But anyway you ladies have to watch Jaws 2 for us. ah ha
10:07 Is it just me or you both missed the knife moving "by itself" after she left it on the counter? It's why the pan caught on fire: the guy was there and he cranked the kitchen fire all the way up.
If there ever is an invisible man that stalks you just remember you can always call, Ghostbusters.
These terrorist isolate wives from family & friends & it’s just horrible
I’m so sorry she has to live that way
i love having Carly in the vids, great to see you both react.
Leigh Whannel is an amazing director. Upgrade was very good as well.
Cassie's coping strategy at 18:53 was hilarious. 😆
Tell you what, you do NOT want to cross Cassie or Carly. "I need him to suffer." " Shoot him more. Shoot him more"
I absolutely freaking ADORE you Cass ❤️❤️❤️. Your sister is a blast 🥳🥳. Never stop. It's cool seeing someone else react crazy to these movies 🍿
Just noticed the "oh my gosh" counter😂🙌🏼
One of those rare times where a remake with a different narrative turned out really good. A future cult classic for sure.
I'd also call it it's own film. Since it shares very little with the original. But it does pay homages.
When we go to or watch movies with our friends, we are all eating popcorn and talking to each other, so it's normal for people. There is nothing wrong with you eating popcorn during your reactions.
Had to watch it a second time back to back to watch the slow motion jump scare reactions from Cassie and Carly 😆😆😆 PRICELESS!
Just discovered your channel and loving it. Watched probably like 15-20 videos the last couple days!!
I feel like Cassie and Carlie would have enjoyed watching 'Monster Squad.' It's appropriately Halloween themed and very cute. It's right up their alley.
That's an old school classic. Still have a DVD copy.
Painfully so, like a shot in the nards.
loved that movie!
I second that.
Watch Man on Fire with Denzel Washington. Excellent excellent film.
Inside Man is also good if we're talking Denzel
Dont forget about Crimson Tide.
@@GearsOfCake Even "The Equalizer" remake (and its sequel) are pretty good with Denzel.
The original Westworld movie from 1973 would be a fantastic reaction video. It's from the author of Jurassic Park Michael Crichton who also directed it
The inspiration for The Terminator.
Their reactions to these movies make me want to watch them
Cassie and Carly, that was a perfect reaction!
I think you two maybe some of my favorite reaction people ❤
I AM IN LOVE WITH THESE SISTERS! Pure sweeties.
One of my favorite movies. I like that it wasn't supernatural or anything. I like that it was a suit and not some magical powers or something like that that made him invisible.
Blumhouse Productions has been on an incredible run for years now.
Well, as long as you ignore things like Truth or Dare and The Lie.
every reaction since psycho we learn more an more how Cassie is a criminal mastermind "She needs a plan, she needs a burner phone!"
The first half of this film has so many creepy little details - like at 10:10 the knife "falls" off the kitchen counter, but never hits the floor. Because it didn't fall - Adrian picked it up, and then turned up the stove to burn her breakfast.
0:38 had me jumping with that lightning bolt
I loved this movie so much. Such an awesome way of portraying the real gaslighting that abusers do. The original from the 30s is fantastic too. And I love your editor for counting the “Oh my goshes.” 🤣
*Such a good film. Genius camera angles and sound design*
Oh wow-get ready ladies. I wasn’t expecting anything going into this movie and was totally blown away.
19:02 You both screamed 'in key' at the exact same pitch together ... Simon Cowell would be proud of you!
I wish they would watch Halloween (1978) together.
I love the thumbnail! Sisters hiding behind blankets, but still watching. Awwwwww.
100% best reaction channel on RUclips
I never thought I'd enjoy watching people watch movies, but you guys are great. You enjoyed it more than me for sure. Good times.
Don't really care about your comment...but your name makes me give you a thumbs up!!👍👍👍👍👍
While you're still doing scary movies for October, you should react to, "Interview With A Vampire", starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Christian Slater and Kirstin Dunst.
Thank you, I was wondering what the numbers were for. 😂
Love you and your sister together. Great natural reactions from both of you. God bless you.
You two are so hilarious (and adorable!)… Another fabulous reaction video, thank you 😊
He admitted it was him when he said “surprise” to her, just they way he said it
Clue
"How does no one believe her?"
Well unless there is proof she is accusing her ex. Only the audience knows she is right.
Priceless reactions!!!
“did they not just see the doors open!?”
“yeah.. what the crap!!?”
HAHA IM WEAK I DIDNT EVEN TTHINK OF THAT
Carly is too adorable.17:47 Cass I'm so scared. Aww Don't worry Carly Big Sis Cass will protect you👍
Omg! I think they missed the knife sliding off the kitchen island at @10:10. Eeeeeek!
It isn't even a nitpick; it's just something that's so creepy to notice a second watch through. I love this channel! What great content!
And the stove burner gets turned up almost right after, right before the skillet contents catch fire!!!
This was a great reaction! I loved watching this. You guys are great together, and yes James is the best I totally agree
